The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Loved it as a Fanboy
*********************SPOILERS******************** As a fan-boy and since Batman is my fave hero this movie rocked the S!@# out of me. As a fan-boy I knew certain characters and easter eggs would pop up but I didn't know when they would pop up. You have to go into this movie without knowing a single thing (if your not a fan-boy) because they it will shock you. For those of you who know spoilers already like Talia Ah Ghual being in it oh well. Nolan still threw me for a loop because I thought those people were joking.
The drama, the performances were AMAZING! JGL and Anne Hathaway steal the show and rocked their roles even though I knew they would. Anne is up their with all the women who have played Catwoman (not Halle Berry because that wasn't Selina Kyle or technically Catwoman). Michael Caine, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman are all powerful in their roles and they don't disappoint. They embodied their characters beautifully. Now Maron was great but she gets out-shined by the other cast members in my opinion.
This film seems more like an ensemble piece and it works better that way. The action is flawless and the scope is stunning. The suspense is thrilling and the story/symbolism is out of this world. It really felt like the climatic end and a full trilogy because everything was connected, all three movies.
There are some little flaws that can be overlooked because it doesn't suck you out of the story. Batman is stabbed at one point in the film and is hurt but I clearly remember in Batman Begins that the suit impenetrable because Fox did say even a bullet couldn't penetrate it unless it was a clear head on close shot. So that stuck out to me. There was a cliché at one point where in the last battle Gordon is trying to do something and he drops it, getting you angry but it adds suspense. All in all it is a great movie that should be viewed without spoilers.
Grade: A-
P.S Don't compare Avengers to this because they are different tones and different styles of directing/writing. Plus one is a superhero TEAM and the other is INDIVIDUAL. I'm a fan of both Marvel and DC so there is no bias that is why I make this statement.
He's Mine Not Yours (2011)
Great Movie, The Movie You Watch To Relax
This is a good movie and it doesn't deserve the low rating on IMDb. The cast delivered, there's no cheesy lines, and it's the perfect length. The movie knows what it is doing and how long it should be and it gets all that it needs accomplished before the film ends. Also the comedy is well timed and is very subtle, no slapstick, just conversational humor. This is the movie to watch when nothing is on and you want something new.
Story-wise it is predictable but it is an entertaining movie. It's one anyone will enjoy. It's smart and its a blast for the family, if you are 15 and older.
