Kimi (2022)
8/10
SanitiZe your hands
12 March 2022
My husband suggested we watch Kimi & I wasn't really all in. I was all in after the first 10 minutes. Kimi is a movie thay focuses on Angela Child's an agoraphobic woman living in a gorgeous apartment & barely leaves the house until she hears something on Kimi, as part of her job & wants to do the right thing because someone could be in danger. I loved how unique Angela's character is. Got me impressed by Zoe Kravitz's acting.. I've never really seen her as the star of a movie and this was a great role for her. Made me want to see her other roles. She really caught my attention with her movement, her voice and that specific way of drying her hands after using a liquid sanitizer ( my favorite part of the movie - sue me call me weird lol ). I'd definitely cosplay her look if I could. I thought the concept was interesting - never seen a story go this way before with a device like Alexa. Found it refreshing. I loved how her character pushed through her fears foe the sake of a complete stranger. One thing was missing though for me, the music did not fit The situations she was in AT ALL. I don't know if that's a good thing or not , but I didn't feel my adrenaline rush in the situations she was in . I wanted to feel the suspense in the scene I was watching but I was calm through out all the scenes because of the not so expected music in the background. I did not Expect myself to enjoy this movie at all but it really surprised me and entertained me. Great crime drama thriller I highly recommend.

The Batman (2022)

So Good Unexpectedly
12 March 2022
The Batman (2022): I don't usually review too many comic book movies but I'd like to say thank you Matt Reeves for making us a memorable Batman movie. I came in to the movie expecting myself just to like it. But I absolutely loved it from the beginning to the end. It had the right amount of intensity, mystery, action & Michael Giacchino's score got stuck in my head leaving the theatre as I sang the melodies to my friends while taking pictures. The music for me played a big role in getting me focused into every scene with what was going on. The Cinematographyy blew me away and I'm thinking how awesome it will be on 4K & I'm already excited to get it and see it again. I'm not a big fan of three hour movies , this is one of the few movies that made me feel like it wasn't even almost three hours long. The thing is I'm not a big fan of the cast. But they were amazing ! I'm Robert Pattinson's least favorite fan and I very much Enjoyed him as the Batman. The Penguin played by Colin Farrel, stole the show for me. Unrecognisable, with such a good New York Italian American accent that I absolutely love & the subtle comedy he brought to one specific scene ( my favorite scene), I am blown away by the entertainment thus movie gave me unexpectedly. Michelle Pfeiffer will always be my Number 1 catwoman ( So far) but Zoe Kravitz is going places with her acting & she is defiantly becoming a favorite of mine. Her portrayal of catwoman for me was better than Anne Hathaway's in my opinion. The riddler was nothing like the originals. So it's refreshing but I'm love my old school riddler. However it doesn't take away the glory of the success of this movie for me. Phenomenal, most definitely one of the best movies of 2022 by far.

It's good but could've been amazing !
22 July 2021
Two deaths, a psychiatrist, and inviting a complete stranger into your home. What could possibly go wrong ? Everything. A psychiatrist, whose client commits suicide, finds his family life disrupted after introducing her surviving brother to his wife and daughter. As the family of the psychiatrist is lingering on a tragic event that affected them all, the brother of one of his patients who commits suicide is welcome into their home. I really liked this movie, the thrill , the mystery and second guessing everything happening. I enjoyed trying to figure out things. There were several predictable Moments and cliches but I didn't mind them at all. Plus there were idiotic decisions made by the characters in this movie. Makes you older can people be really that wreckless and easily trusting. Maybe one person did try to Figure things out but still. I absolutely adored the beautiful scenery of Oregon , the trees, the rain , the mountains and water Views , absolutely stunning . Made me wish to visit the area. It was a decent movie if you ask me , it was almost two hours and didn't feel like It was taking forever. If you enjoy watching psychological thrillers like me. You will surely enjoy this one.

Crazy it's a true story !
4 August 2020
Barely 19 years old and he was able to pull off being a pilot, a physician and a legal prosecutor along with forging millions of dollars using checks and almost got away with it!? Based on a true story!? This happened in real life! I just had to find out what in the world was he doing being able to do all that!? Quite an interesting story. It's about Frank Abagnale Jr.(Leonardo Dicaprio) a young man who was able to con people being a doctor, a legal prosecutor and a pilot. And now the FBI , specifically Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) is trying to catch him. This was just incredible and shocking. Purely intelligent to be able to pull off something like this. What he did with those toy airplanes from Pan AM, that was genius, I was really impressed. How can someone have the guts to do all this and not be afraid of being caught just blows my mind. Even though Frank was busy making money and impersonating different professions , he was lonely, missing his mom and dad very much wishing he had the old life he had with them. He was hoping all the money he was making can take him back to the way they were but it didn't. And he very much looked up to his father (Christopher Walken) they insinuated he had a part in making him the way he was. I wasn't very happy with his mom and her actions. A woman who looks for opportunities only. I loved the intro of the movie with John Williams' music, suited the movie very well With two Oscar nominations, an outstanding cast and amazing director. This was a very good movie based on a true story that will make you think twice about trusting people so easily.

He's a James Bond without the Hardware!
19 July 2020
Raiders of the Lost Ark is the first Indiana Jones adventure that we get a taste of and can't get enough of for years to come. Winning 4 oscars out of the 9 nominations it had, just tells you what a great movie this truly is. Packed with action, adventure, comedy , with a little of bit of romance on the side, it ticks off all the good things you would love to see in a movie and that includes a great leading man, no other than Harrison Ford. Absolutely loved the opening scene. Spiders creeping, big rocks rolling after you, booby traps and seeing a beautiful sunset. I love the idea of a teacher who actually does, because they always say those who can't do, teach but it doesn't apply here on Indie. He is the hot, handsome professor archeologist with a whip and the coolest hat ever. There was a chase scene that I thought took too long, it got boring. The Nepal Scene was very intense and may make give you the shivers with an incident you don't want happening to you. The Funniest scene has to be the sword and the gun. John Ryhs Davies was amazing as always with that great accent of his. Karen Allen is my least favorite in the movie, but I can see that she does give a lot of character around Indiana jones. Steven Spielberg for me is one of the best directors of all time, you can always tell if it's a Spielberg movie, his direction is outstanding, eye catching and in a class of its own. The elements of adventure and comedy are always strong and it's evident here in The Raiders of the Lost Ark. Indian Jones is an iconic movies from the eighties is a must watch. It's a great piece of film that you shouldn't miss. Indiana Jones is like James bond in away. In the words of Steven Spielberg, it's a James Bond Film without the hardware!

Two thumbs Up!
22 April 2020
It's been a long time since I have seen a cop movie with this amount of entertainment, comedy and interestingly good action with a great story. Bad Boys for life will give that to you. I truly wasn't expecting myself to be thoroughly entertained and focused into an action movie like this. . Usually action movies are fully action packed with less focus on a story and less dialogue. This on the other hand was well balanced with all three and I'm very happy with it. Mike and Marcus are near retirement but a mother and son drug lords are on a killing spree in Miami with havoc and vengeance. So the bad boys for life are in it for one last time together to stop the drug lords. Surprisingly Michael Bay did not direct this third installment.Adil Alarbi and Bilal Fallah did and they did not disappoint at all. There were so many good scenes . One scene involved Martin Lawrence wanting to do something repeatedly. It was very funny. Another scene was horrific , I didn't want to be in that room. And a third scene that had me almost fooled . But one scene really got my maternal instincts up , feeling sad and emotional. Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Vanessa Hudgens ( Highschool Musical) and Charles Melton (Riverdale) have small roles in this installment. But if there is a fouth one, they might make them bigger. I personally liked Ludwig's role, didn't buy Vanessa's acting and Melton was annoying. Every time I see Vanessa in a new movie, I'm convinced she needs to stick in musicals. And work more on romantic movies. They suit her more. They gave us such a beautiful view of Miami at night, I was blown away. I was surprised they didn't play Inner Circle's Bad boys song that much or at all. I absolutely loved every minute of Bad Boys for Life. It was purely entertaining with a good story.

Dolittle (2020)

Family fun
19 April 2020
I wasn't ever a big fan of Dr. Dolittle but I have seen the movies bade based on the series of children's books by Hugh Lofting Titled Dr. Dolittle starring Rex Harrison (1967) and Eddie Murphy (1998). I was a little reluctant to watch this new one but knowing it's Robert Downy Jr is starring I had to see it. RDJ seems to nails every role he takes perfectly given he has been with the Marvel franchise for 10 years. He even played Sherlock Holmes (2009) exceptionally and entertainingly. RDJ did a great job at being Dr. Dolittle , the accent, the hair , the interactions with his animal buddies and he touched my heart in a specific scene just as he did in iron man. The movie is about Dolittle who has lost his wife and exiled himself from humanity living with animals. Then lady rose seeks his help to save a very important person in a matter of life and death situation. Therefore he embarks on a journey in the search of an island to look for a cure with an apprentice and his dear animal friends. Dolittle is filled with adventure, loveable animal characters and a straight to the point storyline that is simple, enjoyable and family friendly. Such an amazing number of actors voicing the animals including some big names (Tom Holland, Octavia Spencer, Rami Malek and Emma Thompson). I was very happy to see Antonio Banderas amongst the cast of the movie. I think the last movie for kids he was in was Spykids (2001). (Kumail Nanjani). The Squirrel (Craig Robinson) made me laugh by saying the most unexpected thing given his situation from one specific scene lol. Emma Thompson voiced the duck , you would love her, motherly and sensible and wise. Stubbins (Harry Collett) was my least favorite character he wasn't given much of a role. He was awfully quiet most of the time. I was very surprised that the original score for the movie was composed by Danny Elfman. For his music is usually always darker and easily recognizable given his work with Tim burton most of the time. I though it was the work of Hans Zimmer at first, because it reminded me a lot of Pirates of the Carribean (2003). Interestingly too, the Director Stephen Gaghan, has never worked on a children's movie before , this movie is completely out of his element ( Syriana, Traffic, Gold, Abandon) and I loved the fact that RDJ was involved in the production of the movie (Team Downey Productions) founded by him and his wife. It's memorable, its fun , its adventurous, watch it on a weekend night with your family. I would.

Magical...Not Abominable
31 March 2020
Can this dreamworks production be any more magical and imaginative. Loved a the art work , loved the subtle comedy. Loveable characters ? Regular mostly. I think we all have seen a movie where a group of friends or family try to take back home someone lost and embark on an amazing adventure and this one isn't any different but it was beautifully put together. And it's about family, protecting them and being there for them. A Value I treasure a lot and that's what makes this movie likable as watchable with a big friendly creature waiting to be reunited with his family with the help of friends. I disagree with the title of the movie it's anything but abominable

Bizarre!
10 March 2020
The Lighthouse (2019) : First of all I have to commend on the amazing cinematography of this eccentric piece of cinema that was exquisite visually and artistically. Story wise , felt completely confused ana still don't understand what happened. It was thrilling, revolting and bizarre in every way unexplainable. Willem Dafoe's performance was outstanding , I believed his embodiment of the character deeply. Robert Pattinson did As well as his co-star equally. There was this one piece of element I knew was coming and that specific part disappointed me honestly because , it would have made this movie perfect for me. But all in all , the mystery and the bizarre moments Continued to Intrigue me . So if you are looking to be shocked, bewildered and wondering what in the world is going on ! This is the movie for you

Birds of Prey (2020)
7/10
The 7 is for Margot Robbie
18 February 2020
Bird of Prey (2020) : Margot Robbie will always be the best playing Harley Quinn, the accent, the attitude , the craziness and her fights is what made me want to see the movie. And she didn't fail to entertain. However, the story was a little all over the place going back and forth in the telling of it. I'm not a fan of going back to a scene for at least half an hour to explain why the other scene is happening and it happened twice. It was annoying. I'm used to seeing Ewan Mcgregor As the good Obi-wan-Kanobe and in a romantic role. See I g him as a villain didn't sell it for me unfortunately- the mask looked like a dark version of Jim Carey's the mask - that's what I kept thinking staring at it. And I absolutely love Jurnee-Smollet-Bell (She was on full house as a kid) but because of not so great directing I felt she came in short as the Black Canary and her power wasn't given much attention in the movie . And No No No to the Huntress casting. She was awful, I don't know if it was her bad acting or was it bad writing or directing. Unfortunately the birds of Prey weren't as strong as I thought they would be. The fight scene choreography could've have been more interesting but it got boring at times - exception is Harley Quinn she had a real good couple of fight scenes that got me like whoa .. but the birds of prey were Meh. Basically the movie was fun because of Margot Robbie , other than that it was Ok.

Love You Lara Jean
13 February 2020
Did you know that John Ambrose in the first movie was played by another actor and not Jordan fisher? Remember the last scene of the movie ? He came to her door with the letter in his hand . Why wouldn't he- She is beautiful , charismatic , and adorable and the reason why I wanted to see the sequel , Lana condor portraying Lara Jean is a casting made in heaven. I have to admit never noticed her in X-Men : Apocalypse. It Makes me want to see it again knowing the fact she was in it and why did I miss her as Jubilee. Lara Jean is back in the sequel officially as peter's girlfriend. However one of her love letter recipients come into the picture , John ambrose and things start happening. Is she going to be with Peter, is she gonna be with John ambrose. I'm that's the question I kept asking myself through out the movie . She seems really happy with Peter but John Ambrose is perfection in every way - hard to resist such sweetness and kindness. The story does tell yo nuisance hard it is a a teenager to be in love and in a relationship - relationships are tested- people move on- life is about taking chances and taking risks and that's what Lara Jean is going through. I absolutely loved every second of the movie, the story ended nicely, the soundtrack is pretty good and the movie was fun to watch, romantic and sweet. And I'd watch it again anytime. And you have to love her wardrobe and room - elegant and artistic. Watch it on Netflix if you love Romanti. movies.

Oscar worthy? Maybe
1 February 2020
I had great expectations for this movie because of the strong casting of Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch , Andrew Scott and Mark Strong. I was sad to find out their scenes were very specific and not much. Dean- Charles Chapman's role as lance corporal Blake had a big Emotional impact on me? His scene moved me very much. George Mackay was kind of the leading actor but I wasn't much impressed. I'm not a big fan of one take movies... but that's how it was done, there were a couple of scenes that I thought were strong but overall, the movie was very quiet with minimal dialogue which I expected more of. But you can see the artistry in the direction and production for sure. To Win Best Picture, it might since it won a Golden globe. But for my taste, Angelina Jolie's Unbroken was a lot more better than this as a war genre movie

Dune is quite a movie !
17 January 2020
WHAT A MOVIE! I have mixed feelings about it honestly - it was extremely weird, interesting , at times revolting and half the time I didn't understand why and when and how. It felt like a mix of Star Wars, BeetleJuice in a way and Blade runner. Based on the book by Frank Herbert, The story is focused on A very important item that controls the universe , folding universe travelin without moving and other things mentioned in the beginning just like star wars - and there are four families who want it . I even saw the guy who does the voice of CHUCKY! Brad dourif, with Sir Patrick Stewart, Virginia Madsen, Sean Young, the captain ! From "how I met your mother " all the amazing actors back in the 80s . The score was pretty good especially the final one. There was also a character that reminded of Catra from She-Ra and she was just a kid. A very Bizaare movie honestly and I liked it in a way and disliked it another. The direct and write David Lynch for a fact doesn't like to talk about his movie and he considers it his biggest failure and considers it painful to revisit his movie. The fact that they are going to reboot it will be very interesting - can't wait

disappointing, it had potential
17 January 2020
First of all. Watching this movie I wanted to get plenty of soap and disinfectant to clean all those dirty places encountered in the movie .. I kept feeling an itch that I haven't felt since Joe'a Apartment. Disturbing and mysterious things is what happens to the bartender, that's what the plot says after he picks up a phone left behind, it was mysterious but they didn't explain the disturbing enough and why it happened . Watching truth or dare is way much better than this. But I did want to know more and why and what's gonna happen... the events were very slow I was expecting some thrilling and adrenaline rushing scenes but I got Nada. There were unexplained events happening but he got busy doing something else , kinda thought that's weird lol . The leading actor has potential but the story was really weak , it could've been more exciting . When I got to th final scene. I thought I was gonna be amaZed, scared or surprised but I got Didley squat. I waited and waited for that moment but it never came.

More of a divorce story
8 January 2020
I never liked Adam driver playing the role of Kylo REN is Star Wars - But in marriage story, I can see why he has so many nominations. This movie does him justice in his acting , i was impressed. Scarlett Johanssen did a great job, too. Hah, they are both Disney characters just realized now lol. Laura Dern, Golden Globe Well Deserved! This movie says a lot about the struggles between married people and it seemed very realistic and truthful in every aspect. If you are married it will seem like it's telling the story of your life - you've been through this n that when you thought you were the only one going through it. All couples go through the same problems in a marriage especially when it comes to divorce. The ending for me was Dull. The divorce process that is shows you is really ugly and it tells you what the ugly is. This IS A story and it was a sad one, told very well. And I think couples who are going through a divorce or thinking of a divorce , can relate to it - I'm surprised they didn't name the movie.. A Divorce Story lol.

Ip Man - The Legend
6 January 2020
I don't think anyone could've have portrayed Ip Man as well Donnie Yen. It was absolutely. Amazing and adrenaline rushing watching the fight scenes. And there was a little comedy to it too but very subtle. Knowing that the movie was set in the sixties it didn't really magnify the era . Except for a few characters that really looked like it. I still think the previous parts are better except for the third , story wise and fight scenes wise. The actor playing Bruce Lee , did t quite sell it for me. Jason Scott Lee is still the best who played Bruce Lee . I have to confess I got emotional at the end of the movie. Ip Man is legendary and I fell in love with his story from the first movie and it is always a great movie to recommend

Action Heroes off the grid
6 January 2020
Twenty Minutes into the movie and I was already thinking is this scene ever going end. It felt like forever. Like Batman and Iron Man, One (Ryan Reynolds) is that rich guy who wants to put away extremely evil people. Only he does this with the help of 5 agents and they are all considered dead totally off the grid. Unfortunately, the characters aren't that memorable or interesting enough with small glimpses of their past. But they Are people who wanna do good in the world. The scenes were fully action packed to the point where u really can't focus ur eyes on one particular fight or shot. It's a little all over the place. One part of the story seemed very much inspired by the Fall of Saddam Hussain. So originality isn't really big in this movie . But one thing is for sure - the. Soundtrack is absolutely perfect. Watching this movie once is enough , rewatchable? Don't think so but if you love action then yes. Towards the end of the movie I liked how it was closed down with a little narration from one, I felt goosies for some reason .

I like it and I don't lol
25 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Nobody's fool (2018): I can see why this movie got a 4/10 rating but I gave it a 7/10. Tiffany Haddish usually doesn't make me laugh but there were a few times where she had really funny punch lines . The fact that this smart successful woman is in an online relationship with a man she has never seen for a WHOLE YEAR. yes that truly is unrealistic and stupid. And for that cute coffee shop owner to forgive her 3 times for her mean actions towards him. That was unrealistic. But I enjoyed it still. And it's nice to hear a boys II men song in a movie, that rarely happens

Dinosaurs! Run!
7 April 2019
I have to say usually back in the days sequels are never as good as the first but Hollywood is doing pretty good making sequels and this one I can say was good enough for me. The first half of the movie explains what's gonna happen to the dinosaurs after the fall of Jurassic world and the second half is basically a dinosaur chase with terror. Somewhere in the middle you feel sad for the dinosaurs and what's gonna happen to them and you wish you could do something about it. And there is a focus on blue the velociraptor that plays an essential part to the story plot and why it's happening . It Was fully entertaining, wasn't boring at all. And it was action packed

What is the movie about ?
7 April 2019
A movie about making movies with conspiring communists abducting Baird Whitlock to get a ransom. That's the plot as it seems and Everything in between the film is just random but with a tribute to the different types of movies made back then. That's the part that got me enjoying it. And very minimal comedic scene but were funny. Not the type that gets u teary funny though . I have to admit the ending was confusing to me . Francis mcdormand got me smiling . Loved the accent scarlet Johansson used , was a genuine 50s accent. Channing Tatum gave an interesting dance and Jonah Hill was soooo not funny but in a funny way , don't know if U know what I mean . The cast was entertaining for sure but the movie's message was a little blur to me .

Funny, cute , a loveable 1960s classic
3 February 2019
Send me no flowers is a classic 1964 movie about a couple who have been married for 5 years. The husband is a hypochondriac who visits the docor constantly always thinking there is something wrong with him. Then he accidentally hears his doctor talking on the phone saying that he only has a few weeks left to live and the story begins where he gets ready for death . Doris day plays his wife who thinks he is covering up an affair with a story of him dying. The story really is funny from The beginning to the end. A nice movie for couples to sit together and laughs at situations that might have happened to them .

A Beautiful Adventure
31 January 2019
It takes place 20,000 years ago in Europe , a tribe surviving harsh climates, searching for food and trying to live as their ancestors did before them. The story focuses on Keda, the son of the tribe's leader. Keda's father teaches him the laws n rules of surviving. However keda seems not ready to take life with its struggles, he is put to the test on a journey he takes surviving the wild alone to get back Home to his tribe And along the way , a wolf comes into the story and the tale begins . Survival movies are my least favorite genres but the truth is this one was worth watching every minute, the relationship that grows between keda and the wolf , the strength that Keda gains along his journey back home with a plot twist we didn't see coming. Such a beautiful breathtaking movie with gorgeous cinematography that blows you away and yes it may give you a few tears if you are an animal lover . This movie deserves much more than average 6/10 rating cuz it's a 10/10 in my book

Kate McKinnon Rocked
28 January 2019
I usually don't watch spy movies but this one had Kate McKinnon and she is Hilarious, it's nothing like Austin powers for one. Almost every since there is Cursing which was unnecessary. It is definitely filled with lots of gun shooting & dead bodies. Mila Kunis playing a normal Person that seems To have low self esteem , doesn't know her place in the world ( something we are not used to seeing with Kunis) gets dumped by her boyfriend who is a spy and is chased by the CIA and criminals. Kate McKinnon plays her buddy that makes the movie fun to watch and makes you laugh.

The Crazy Things People Do for Money
28 January 2019
It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world , saying it four times is a mouthful . I thought the first scene was really funny, did get my attention and made me interested in finishing it till the end. A man before his death tells a group of people there is buried treasure in Santa rosita and they all race for it. There was a really loud woman which I didn't like ( the mother in law ) the man with the phony english accent that makes you laugh and so many different characters that bring a little something for your entertainment, so many cameos if big actors . The movie was a little too long for me as a comedy, two hours and a half but a classic is always fun to watch and the comedy is simple and entertaining . Bottom line is , those people did the extreme to reach for the treasure. Makes you think what money really does to people.

So underrated , very interesting
28 January 2019
I can't believe this movie didn't do well in the box office . It's a fresh idea , with a great cast and a good amount of action that entertains you. The events take place 10 years after 2018 in a dystopian world where water isn't free. How many movies do you get where there is a hospital/ hotel for criminals only with a membership and only one nurse (Jodie Foster) to treat them all. From the beginning to the end it was Interesting, had a good storyline and I wanted more honestly.
