A great episode
6 February 2016
It's not surprising that this episode is rated among the best of the series. It's pure fun. Sure, there are plot holes. Rockford seems out of character at times and there is a general air of absurdity to it all but that is what makes it work. It's a refreshing change from the dark and bloody ground that they usually cover. If you don't try to analyze every move it's very enjoyable to watch Rockford perform his magic when he does his con. He enlists the help of a number of people, some of which, are regulars on the series. It's no wonder why Becker owes Jim in later episodes as he literally saves Becker's financial life. So sit back and enjoy Rockford as he cons the con men.

Better than most biker movies
1 June 2006
The best thing about Devil's Angels is the humor. This is a movie that makes it's point without taking itself too seriously. The violence is minimal compared to most other of this genre and the emphasis is on characterization. There are some genuinely funny moments in this movie and plenty of memorable lines. The part with the old lady and her shopping list is my favorite. The use of solid veteran actors helps fill in for the script lapses and keeps the viewers interest. Good luck finding this movie though. It is no longer shown anywhere and is not distributed either. After 10 years of searching, I finally found a used VHS tape on Ebay. It cost me $25 but I consider it worth it.

Alien 51 (2004 Video)

One of the top five....WORST movies of all time!
1 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This film has no redeeming qualities. All the actors are lackluster as well as the asinine script. The most horror I saw in this film was in the editing. Phoebe Falconer was OK till she opened her mouth. Her screaming fits were truly incomprehensible. Heidi Fleiss's "acting" was reprehensible. The "Alien" was nonsensical. The only really imaginative part in the movie was when the Sheriff?? gets shot in the head and we see blood splattering on the camera lens. Unfortunately, it's a long, tedious wait to that scene so don't bother.

I can't find enough negative words for ten lines to trash this movie so I hope they accept it as it is.

Very clever dialog
8 May 2005
Demolition Man is a vastly underrated movie. The script is mischievously clever, the actors well-chosen, and it's full of non-stop action. Us men would watch this movie just to see Sandra Bullock in those skintight pants! However, she steals the show with her funny mispronounced slang of her past. She is at her best in this movie.

Stallone and Snipes are great as adversaries as well as Dennis Leary as the fast-talking Rebel. This is definitely a tongue-in-cheek take on the shoot-em-up genre as thousands of rounds fly but the good guys come out practically unscathed.

I heartily suggest seeing this movie then maybe you'll figure out the three-seashell thing.

Great movie
6 February 2005
I loved the period piece of this movie as I'm a big fan of our history. The facts were accurate for the most part except for one glaring scene. When Montcalm approaches Magua, after Fort Henry falls, he is obviously playing to his sympathies about the British not keeping to their terms of the surrender. Montcalm, knowing of Magua's lust for revenge, knows that he will then attack the defeated inhabitants as they leave the fort.

That scene is sheer poetic license, as the facts bear out that Montcalm had assurances from the Indian chiefs after that battle that they would refrain from attacking the departing party in exchange for all the forts plunder. In fact, it was Montcalm who finally put a stop to the actual massacre once he was informed of it. No, I'm not French, but all books and letters, show Montcalm as a man of highest honor and a champion against greed and corruption.

A poor excuse...

for a comedy. American Wedding doesn't even come close to it's 2 prequels. The laughs come soft and slow. The actors appear very lackluster in the delivery of even the funniest situations. Pretend that this movie never existed, then you can say that American Pie was a great set of comedies.

Pale Rider (1985)
No wonder you like this movie!
24 December 2003
So you liked Pale rider? Ever wonder why? Have you seen the western classic "Shane"? Pale rider is a direct rip-off of Shane. Oh, yeah. The mysterious stranger comes to town to help the struggling homesteaders. A child takes a fascination with him. He has to spurn her affections as did Shane with a settlers wife. He has a shootout with the bad guys and saves the day. He then rides off into history. Shane may have set a standard in moviemaking but Pale Rider shamelessly copies all of the key elements of plot. I was disgusted by this movie. Not to mention the horrible acting by some of the characters. Watch Shane, then watch this movie again and see if you don't agree.

Confusing to say the least...
9 December 2003
I'm not dense but this movie is very confusing from the very start. Sure, I understand the plot and the reverse theme of it but I never really could put it together as an enjoyable movie. It seemed to rely upon the viewer asking,l "What the heck is happening?", to maintain suspense. Pearce was good, as well as Moss, but overall, it is just an average movie.

Should be in the top 250 of all time.
3 December 2003
This is my favorite western. The acting is superb (if not a little overdone since it is a satire, of sorts). Hoffman is in peak form as young Jack Crabb and who wouldn't love Chief Dan George as Old Lodge Skins, his mentor. It's a great movie and a must-see for anybody who can appreciate great cinema.
