Kiss Me First (2018)
Patience is supremely rewarded
I am at S1:E4 and very glad I stuck with it through the first two episodes. E3 is where it starts burrowing into your consciousness and making you ponder things.
Cast very well. Thankfully not hindered by focusing on the over-tired stereotypes of social media rampant in other shows/books/movies.
Well written, to the point of being obvious that the author could give two fox whether it's a blockbuster, instead focusing on what is just serene and beautiful in it's own skin. And the music seems to be from a dimension and time not known to man.
If this is the face of new TV, and the offerings of Netflix, then a bright star has emerged in the Covfefe colored sky.
They Went That-A-Way & That-A-Way (1978)
A nostalgic gem of clean comedy
This is one of those movies that I remember seeing when I was a kid. It was old fashioned slap-stick that made us goofy pre-teens laugh our butts off. I have always loved Tim Conway, and this is one of his prime examples of comic genius. Tim is fantastic with his timing and those goofy looks on his face. You know what's coming next, but you don't care because you know it will be funny, whatever it is. The part I remember the most is when he and his partner are dressed as a man and a woman and they have some kind of can that they're carrying that has something to do with them getting out of prison, I'm not sure how. Tim keeps yelling "My wife! The can!" and the host of the party keeps telling him that the bathroom is in the house. I love this movie for the good laughs but even more for the memories of that time in my life. Me and my buddies going to the movies, yuckin' it up and not caring about a thing in the world.
The Stupids (1996)
I admit that this is an unfair review
I took my son to see this with every intention of watching a completely goofy movie since we love other titles such as The Jerk, Airplane, etc. However, we couldn't sit through more than ten minutes before getting up and leaving the theater, fore-fitting our admission cost and all. It was just TOO stupid, so stupid that my brain was starting to hurt. So, despite the fact that 10 minutes isn't enough to give it a fair assessment, I think leaving a moving after only 10 minutes is a testimony of its own. I may see if I can find this on Netflix to see if my 15 year old memories of it are still accurate. And it may be worth the time to get some Mystery Science Theater style entertainment out of this train-wreck.
