Chuck: Chuck Versus the Goodbye (2012)
Season 5, Episode 13
10/10
One word "Jeffster"
27 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched this series over and over again. I love it. There was a time where Chuck was jumping around streaming services so to avoid multiple subscriptions I just bought the DVD box set. That was a great investment. The behind the scene interviews and extras are fun. One thing I greatly appreciate from this series is the musical scores. I love how each character has their own theme music. Big Mike, Roan, Colonel Casey all have distinct musical accompaniments when they are making a debut on screen. Another great musical aspect is the 80's angle.they don't disappoint by playing many of the favorite 80's hits. Speaking of, does it get better than Jeffster performing Take on Me with a full orchestra accompanying them? Gives me chills every time I watch. On days when I feel down and out I turn on this episode just to get a little Jeffster. Rock on dudes!! What a show. I hope they have a reunion of some sort. I'd love to see if Chuck and Sarah reconciled, did Morgan and Alex get married? Did Casey catch up with Gertrude? Did Chuck and Sarah in fact have little kids that turned out to be ninjas? So many story lines possible over a decade later. This show was good clean fun. I miss that. Hoping for more.

Supernatural: Keep Calm and Carry On (2016)
Season 12, Episode 1
3/10
Welcome to the worst season of Supernatural ever
6 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I think my review title says it all. This is just a huge step back from the previous season(s). How do you go from fighting Amara, God("Capital G")'s sister to the big bad being the British Men of Letters? Weak!

So yes there's the Lucifer side plot but he's basically part of the family at this point and reduced to comic relief so he can't be considered the big bad. Maybe if Mark Pellegrino was in more than 7 episodes of this season it would be easier to digest but Rick Springfield? Come on!! The writers, show runners, producers, whoever, were just lost. They missed the mark on this one.

Side note: After all the time and energy being a loyal fan of Supernatural and the payoff is Mary Winchester and they kill off the Alpha Vamp? What a kick in the teeth.

Summary: This season pales in comparison to the rest. Expect to be disappointed and you may occasionally be pleasantly surprised. That's the best way to approach.

Three stars because Jensen, Mark and Misha are perfect as always plus we get to see talented Rick Worthy and the fabulous Ruthie Connell again.

Steve Valentine makes an appearance!
28 August 2023
Always fun to see Steve Valentine in any role. He is so talented and such a joy to watch. I prefer his comedic roles or when he's performing magic but still, he's awesome because he can do it all.

I already favor episodes that are heavy on the Dean Winchester storyline because Jensen Ackles is a terrific actor so to have this one be mostly about Dean with Steve Valentine as the guest star was a real treat.

Something interesting about this episode I'd like to share with everyone, and I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but the real reason Steve Valentine decided to take the role was to....

Supernatural: I'm No Angel (2013)
Season 9, Episode 3

Would be a 10 if not for poor acting by Jared Padalecki
28 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love Supernatural and have watched this series multiple times so I've taken my time coming to this conclusion.

First, this episode: Castiel, poor guy, is once again duped because he believes he's doing good. Metatron, the archangel you love to despise, fooled him good and now everyone is holding Castiel responsible. All the angels think he's in on it because no way he's that naive, right? Seriously where have they been the past few years? This is kind of his thing. That's a bit of a plot hole in my opinion but forgivable because when angels get angry in this show they do tend to blame the easiest target as opposed to the responsible party.

Side note: Misha Collins handles the change for his character beautifully and Jensen Ackles nails his performance as the stressed-out-hanging-on-by-a-thread-deceitful-big-brother-but-bad-ass-hunter, Dean. Then there's Jared. Oh boy. The shift between Zeke and Sam just makes me laugh. I've always thought his acting was poor. He's already a very exaggerated actor and relies heavily on sighs, exhales, and a furrowed brow to sell his performance. The funniest thing to me is when I watch 'French Mistake' and JP is supposed to play the part of Jared Padalecki, an actor, but Sam is no actor but he gives it a shot. You can see he thinks he's changed his character to portray a bad acting job but in reality it's no different. He always sucks. Jensen and Misha did have a noticeable difference as their alternate versions as they were meant to. That is because they are actually talented actors. Jensen Ackles carried the show all by himself until Misha Collins came along then when Mark Sheppard joined the trio of awesome, everything was perfect.

Back to the episode, I still think Cas got the shaft as he usually does because Dean screwed him over again. When will Dean learn to quit with the lies? They never lead to anything good. Maybe that's the overall lesson of the series. Lies are the real evil and they always come back to bite you in the rear. Lol.

Sheldon should have prevailed
16 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Sheldon was collectively lied to and manipulated by his circle of friends to get him to move out of his apartment and move in with Amy. Leonard should have been honest instead of saying it was fine that Sheldon took everything. We all know that Sheldon takes them at their word, regardless of how often he is lied to, so to be upset that he did exactly as Leonard advised then was spited for it was childish of Leonard. The problem of Leonard and Penny not having access to the WiFi is easily fixed by them being adults and getting their own account with an internet provider. Sheldon had his own account and probably moved it to his new residence. Last I checked when one person has an account and pays that bill they are not required to make it a community account.

Overall review about the episodes involving Sheldon moving in with Amy
16 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So I don't know if the writers or character or fans have just forgotten the past 9 seasons but isn't the apartment where Leonard and Penny are staying actually Sheldon's? I seem to remember Sheldon holding interviews for a new roommate and in the end settled on Leonard. Why is Sheldon getting the boot and having to consider a new residence? If anyone should move out, it should be Leonard. Sheldon is definitely an acquired taste but they all know that. They seem to keep him around just to have someone to bash and blame for their troubles. Let him stay in HIS apartment and move forward with Amy. Maybe he wouldn't be so awkward if his friends weren't such jerks.

Penny is a jerk
14 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode annoyed me to no end. The idea that Sheldon had to apologize was just ridiculous. Yes he is arrogant, childish, self centered and has the emotional maturity of a toddler but hey, his house, his rules. If he had demanded Penny follow his rules while in her place then I would have been cheering her on. Instead she barged in, made herself at home and leeched off of them as usual. She is so disrespectful and deserved to lose the argument. I would have liked to see her banishment upheld until she acknowledged she was wrong for her behavior towards Sheldon. Leonard was also wrong for his stance. As ridiculous as it is to the rest of us, he had a roommate contract with Sheldon so was rightly expected to uphold his part. Getting three strikes is generous of Sheldon when you consider the contract since most people get sued after one mistake. They know Sheldon takes everything seriously and believes others to be sincere making the other characters just come off as cruel and vicious instead of humorous. Bottom line, you just don't go into someone's home and behave like that then make them apologize to you. I was very disappointed in the writing here. People who act like Leonard and Penny did should be ashamed of themselves.

Spike! Enough said
3 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Spike makes a comeback and that alone is enough to give this episode a high rating but then he went and beat up Xander!!! Whoo-hoo!!! 10 stars for the smack down Spike threw down on the terrible Xander. Spike is such a fun character. It is hard not to sympathize with him. Funny that James Marsters seems to take roles where he starts out as the bad guy then ends up helping the hero in some way (his Victor Hesse role from Hawaii Five-0 comes to mind). He is a brilliant actor and I can't wait to see where his character goes from here. More Spike and less Xander would be great but I'll just have to wait and see.

Rowena is the best
13 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love all episodes with Rowena. When Dean tells Bernard "You know she's controlling your brain." and then Bernard grins and responds "She's powerful, she's gorgeous and she's paying me a small fortune. That woman didn't have to cast a spell on me.",sums it up. It stings that Rowena doesn't get her way and we are stuck without Crowley. I did love the banter between mother and son. Ruth Connell is a gem and I thoroughly enjoy her performance as the tiniest and most powerful 300 year old witch. She combines classic beauty and grace with a mean streak that makes grown men shake with terror. What a wonderful character. Brava Ms. Connell!
