Key Largo (1948)
Best Bogie and Bacall Film
Easily my favorite Humphrey Bogart film. I know what you're thinking. "What? Isn't it the law that you pick the Maltese Falcon or The African Queen?" Nope! This is it. His best performance. (Of course, I believe his second best is The Petrified Forest, so take it for what you will). Unlike his other roles where you always know he is the toughest guy in the room, despite often being the smallest, in Key Largo he had a legitimate moment of vulnerability. It's endearing. Of course, nothing could outshine Claire Trevor's brilliance in the film. It admittedly adds to my perception of the movie. Definitely worth watching at least once in a lifetime (or even annually, as I watch it.)
Outnumbered (2014)
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC SHOW!
This is an amazing show. It regularly show a panoply of disparate views. My wife and I are regularly surprised by some of the opinions expressed by the women and "outnumbered guy" on the show.
The woman political make up of the women generally seems to be one conservative, one libertarian/ independent, one liberal, and Harris Faulkner or Melissa Francis who acts very much as a neutral referee. Then you have whatever guy on the couch who is lucky enough to be outnumbered by so many talented, smart, and beautiful women!
When it comes to the daily guest it is only disappointing when there is either a far right or someone who leans mostly left person. Then you just get to hear whatever talking points are currently being pushed, facts be damned.
We watch every day and make sure to DVR it so we can pause and discuss their points with eachother. Truly an absolutely fantastic show!
