gadget and the eh....

so i just heard about this recently and was very skeptical since i'm a huge fan of the original cartoon from the eighties, but i decided to suck it up and check it out.

I was pretty disappointed with a number of changes they made to it, and i understand that it can't be completely the same, but regardless, it felt too different to be any good.

the good - well, its still inspector gadget so it gets some free points for that, and a number of things are reveled in this one that weren't explained in the original (not sure if that's good or bad).

the bad - firstly, brain is virtually non existent in this series, and apparently hates gadget. What?? come on how can one of the main characters just get taken out like that? Second, Not only does penny not have her super cool computer book and only sports a laptop now, but she really doesn't do as much here, plus she doesn't even look a whole lot like the penny we remember. And thirdly, gadget's tiny robots get really annoying really fast (still arguably better than capetard though). To me, gadget is funnier and works better solo.

This show is definitely better if you haven't seen the original first. 2/10 for too many negative changes

City of Ember (2008)

very disappointing

Ill start out by stating that this review is coming from a fan of the novel. I've read the book at least five times and it will forever be one of my favorite stories. when i heard that they were making a movie out of it i was on pins and needles for months waiting for it too come out. in the theater i was quickly disappointed. how could they mess it up this badly? lets list some of the screw ups

1. there were no robots in the book 2. were did the giant mole and other animals come from? 3. what was with the escape? they escaped in a different way then in the book.

all in all, they changed so much from the original book, which was simple, engaging, and fun. the only other movie I've been this disappointed in was eragon. avoid this movie and go read the book.

Jeepers Creepers (2001)

worth a rental but not much else

okay so this movie started off looking like it was going to be better then most of the trash that calls itself horror, and it is pretty captivating or the first part, especially the scenes down in the pipe, and contrary to popular complaint the villain/monster doesn't really look all that bad, definitely a step in the right direction compared to most of the syfy drivel. Sadly the captivation dies rather quickly and descends into stupidity. like most of the other negative reviews state, there are a lot of things that are never quite explained, such as a certain psychic woman who appears out of nowhere and doesn't really have any point in being there other then to explain a few pointless things. By far the worse part of this flick is the ending, you have to see it to believe it, just don't get attached to the characters and it wont bother you as much. all in all this movie starts off great but ends up being below average. worth a rental if your in the mood to rip on something.

well this is my first review on here and i'm sad to say its going to be a warning. Do not see this movie. It tries quite hard to be smart and play with your mind, but it does not do it very well. Gore fans will be disappointed, and so will anyone else who is in the mood for a memorable flick. okay i lied, it is memorable, just not in a god way. Paying taxes is less painful then sitting through the duration of this film. The characters are extremely stupid. At one point they have an entire arsenal of weapons at their disposal, and still one of them manages to die. Avoid at all costs. Anything else is better worth your time then this.
