Ginger Snaps: Unleashed (2004)
Not as good as the original, but what is?
I've probably seen Ginger Snaps more than a hundred times, I love it so much it never gets boring to me. I was expecting the same with this one, and I got some of what I expected, but there are a lot of flaws. The first thing I noticed was that Ginger acts different than she did in the original, the tone of her voice is nicer than Ginger normally is, and she was a lot less sarcastic. And I read on a lot of websites that the werewolf trying to mate with Brigitte is Jason McCardy, who Ginger infected in the original movie, but it never says that in the movie, not once. Another thing that made me mad is that they only brought the song back once, and they gave it corny lyrics, I'm glad they even bothered to bring it back, but I think they should have left it how it was and they should have played it more than once. And the thing that made me really, really mad was that Brigitte and Ghost never threatened to expose Tyler's drug dealing when he wouldn't give them the monkshood. They killed the spirit of the first movie, Ginger Snaps was one of the only original movies I've seen, and I thought they would make the second one the same way, but what do I get? Not many people I know liked the first Ginger Snaps, but when I showed them the second one they loved it. I HATE THOSE PEOPLE!!!! Just because the second movie was more action pact they like it more, it makes me mad!! I've even seen video stores that have the second one, but they don't have the first one, how could they do that!!?? People aren't going to understand the second one if they haven't seen the first! But thats beside the point, the point is that Ginger Snaps 2 Unleashed is not what Ginger Snaps is, it's something completely else. Don't get me wrong it's not all bad, it has some of the dark humor from the first, and Emily Perkins is awesome, but it lacks what the first one had. Then again what sequel is as good as the first, I was expecting to much of this movie. All in all I give Ginger Snaps 2 Unleashed 7/10 ..............last
Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)
Almost Stupid... But not as good
I wanted to love this movie like I did the first one. Everyone told me not to see it, everyone said it was really stupid and pointless. But I didn't listen, I ignored them and rented it anyway. It's possibly the worst sequel ever mad in the whole world, I'm almost embarrassed to say I liked the first one. The first one was scary and up until you found out the creeper was a monster, and that kinda made it corny, but I still loved the movie. This one wasn't scary at all, the acting wasn't even compared to the acting on soap operas! It wasn't funny at all, I wasn't even laughing at how stupid the movie was, I was sad, it made me really sad. This movie could have been great, but sadly it was just nothing, there was nothing there at all. 0/10....last
Vampire Clan (2002)
.....Kids Are Stupid!!!
I wanted to like this movie, I really did, but it just didn't work out. The kids in this movie are so stupid, they think their vampires!!? Witches I understand, but vampires? The leader of all of them (Rod) got me so freakin mad, he's like a young Charles Manson, only this guy was stupid and his theories were pointless and disturbing. And that little blond chick who's parents they killed was stupider, she should have just left when she wanted to, they couldn't make her say. She didn't even have a real reason to run away the stupid poser goth. The start was so much like Scream (the greatest horror movies of all time) and that kinda ruined the whole movie for me. This movie just made me so mad, It wasn't all bad, but I think if anyone wants to see this movie, DON'T. See "Bully" instead, it's not much better, but not as bad. Awesome soundtrack. 4/10 .....last
American Beauty (1999)
...look closer
Whoever doesn't like this movie has no heart, I would say it's the greatest movie of all time, but I say that about a lot of movies. It is definitely one of the greatest movies of all time, but I say that a lot too. Every one should see it, a new classic that will never be forgotten. Thora Birch is awesome and Mena Suvari is hilarious. It almost makes me love life. 10/10 .....last
The Virgin Suicides (1999)
...........
When I first saw this movie I had no idea what it was about, I didn't know the title, and I have no idea why I decided to watch it, but I did. The parents in the movie remind me of my mom, she isn't as over protective as they were, but she's almost as bad. The end was the most sad and shocking thing I'd ever seen, I'd never seen a movie this powerful. And I don't think there will ever be another movie this powerful ever again. Of all my favorite movies, this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE, it's come on Lifetime a couple of times, and it's labeled a chick flick, but I couldn't care less. Its my favorite movie and I'm sticking to it!!! 10/10 .....last
Fight Club (1999)
"Nothing is static, everything is falling apart."
Fight Club is about an insomniac (Edward Norton) who is bored with life, until he meets an interesting person who is the exact opposite of himself, his name is Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). Together they start a Fight Club where guys just like them beat each other up for fun. Fight Club slowly turns into project mayhem, basically anarchist, they blow up stuff and beat people up. One of the most amazing movies of all time, Edward Norton is awesome, he deserves awards, lots of awards. This movie is a great dark comedy, and is a very good drama too. I didn't think movies could be this good, until I read the book, it is TEN times better than the movie, it sounds hard to believe, but it's true. Although the movie is a great interpretation of the book it still doesn't even compare to it, everyone should see the movie and read the book. 10/10 ....last
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Freaky
Weird movie, another one of those movies that makes me think the writer had to be a psycho. It wasn't as scary, or gory as a lot of people would have you believe, it probably was when it originally came out in 1974. I still love it, Tobe Hooper is a psycho, but if it wasn't for him, horror movies today wouldn't be so awesome. I don't think it should been labeled a true story, because their is hardly any truth to the movie, it didn't even happen in Texas. Still the movie is awesome and I recommend it to everyone who loves horror movies. 9/10 .....last
Ginger Snaps (2000)
......Unbelievible
ANOTHER one of my favorite movies!!! Ginger Snaps is about two sisters, Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) and Brigitte (Emily Perkins) who are very close, and strangely fascinated with death. One day Ginger gets bitten by a werewolf and unknowingly starts to become one. Brigitte suspects that her sister is becoming a werewolf, but Ginger wont believe it, she just thinks she's going through "changes". Being the good and loyal sister that she is, Brigitte goes on a mission to find a cure with some help from her new friend Sam (Kris Lemche). I first rented this movie as a joke, I wanted to laugh and the cover made it look like a very stupid movie, but a wise man once said "Don't judge a movie by it's cover". After I saw it I hunted it down and bought it. Ginger Snaps is; freakin hilarious, sad, disturbing, kinda scary, all together it is a very dark, but original movie. I'm very sad to say that it could have been a little better, when Ginger is becoming and is a werewolf, it looks very cheesy and unrealistic, and some parts look like their from a comic book. The rest of the movie makes up for it though, and I cant wait to see Ginger Snaps 2 and 3, Yaaayyy!!! 9/10 ......last
The Order (2003)
Not That Bad
I kinda liked it, it was a very boring movie at times, but if you look past that it's not to bad. The end was very sad and it did leave some questions unanswered but I like movies that leave me hanging. I still don't know exactly what the movie was about, I think it was about the "Sin Eater" but it seemed like there should have been something more to it. Heath Ledger and Shannyn Sossamon did a great job and I give this movie a 6/10 for good effort ........last
Vanilla Sky (2001)
AMAZING
I saw this movie when it first came out, and I didn't think to much of it, it was kinda confusing and I didn't pay much attention to it. Then a couple of weeks ago there was nothing to rent and the video store, and I saw Vanilla Sky, I didn't hate the movie, I didn't even remember much about it, so I rented it again. Another one of my favorite movies, It's was so much better the second time I saw it, I couldn't believe it. A great movie that shouldn't be overlooked, watch it more that once, you won't be disappointed. 10/10 .....last
Donnie Darko (2001)
It Knocked Me Flat
Another one of my all time favorite movies. My mom rented this movie for me a while back, I'd always seen it in the horror section and it didn't look to interesting to me, I thought it was a horror movie with a killer and all that crap. I was very surprised when I saw it, I was expecting to see a stupid meaningless horror movie, but I was wrong. Donnie Darko is about a teenager named Donnie Darko (Jake Gyllenhall) who is visited by a man in a bunny costume in his dreams, it sounds dumb, but you'll be surprised. 10/10.....last
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
Not Bad At All
I was waiting for this movie to come out for the longest time, and it was well worth the wait. The original was a brilliant movie and was way ahead of its time, and I thought the new one was going to be exactly like the original, but it wasn't. And I know a lot of people are going to be mad at me when they read this, but I'm glad it wasn't exactly like the first one. It would have been boring if it was exactly like the original, the changes that were made were very necessary. I think they did a good job re-making this movie, they picked a great cast, and the acting wasn't all bad. The set was awesome, the inside of the house looked almost exactly like the original. It is a really scary movie, but the original was still better. Everyone should go check it out, I give it 8/10 .......last
May (2002)
Brilliant
I read a lot of comments on this site that said May was a really good movie. I still didn't think it sounded that good, so I avoided renting it for a while. I regret that a lot now, when I finally rented May it made all the other movies I rented that day look like crap. May is about a girl (Angela Bettis) who has no friends in life other than her doll Suzie, that her mom made and gave to her on her birthday when she was a little girl. One day she saw a man (Jeremy Sisto) that she decided to herself was a good person. She was obsessed with his hands, she thought they were beautiful. When she finally met him he was very nice to her, and they were friends until she bit his lip, he thought she was a freak and avoided her from there on. May was also hurt by her co worker Polly (Anna Faris) who May was involved with until she found out she was cheating on her. One day Suzie (May's Doll) is torn apart by a bunch of blind kids that may works with. It's then that May decided to take her mothers advise "If you cant find a friend, make one." So thats exactly what may does, she gets the parts from people that she likes the most and creates her new best friend. May is a beautiful movie, it is very gory at times but it is very well made and one of the most original movies I've seen in a while. I would give May 10/10 ......last
Spun (2002)
A Masterpiece!!!
I waited so many years to see this movie, I read about it on this site and it sounded like my kind of movie. When I finally saw it I was so impressed that I bought it, I showed it to my mom and she thought it was sick and she took it away form me, so I bought it again. Spun is about Ross (Jason Schwartzman) who is promised free speed if he drives around Nikki (Brittany Murphy) and the Cook (Mickey Rourke). Spun is a great movie, with an amazing cast including Mena Suvari and John Leguizamo. The whole cast does a great job, all of them prove that they are good actors in this movie. If you haven't seen it, see it, and if you have seen it and you didn't like screw you. 10/10 .....last
SLC Punk! (1998)
Awesome!!!
SLC Punk is about Stevo (Matthew Lillard) and Heroin Bob (Micheael A. Goorjian) a couple of anarchists who hate their town and all the rules and rednecks in it. This movie was awesome, its really funny, but I wouldn't label it a comedy, its way more than that. Everyone stupid kid who thinks their original and thinks their not a poser should go see it! One of my new favorite movies 10/10 .....last
