Good Sam (2022)
Good Sam, Bad show
CBS, what a waste of Prime Time.
The focal point of this unfunny medical hour, daughter vs father, is preposterous.
I watched the first episode and found it marginal, at best. Second episode - somewhat less than marginal. Gave it a third chance (held out hope) and could only suffer through the first half.
The role of Dr. Rob "Griff" Griffith, played by Jason Isaacs, is ridiculous, and in playing it, makes him look silly.
CBS, what a waste of Prime Time!
Ordinary Joe (2021)
A Jumble of Meet-Ups
This was going to be the one new show that I was going to add to my current watchlist of favorite shows.
Not now . . .the first episode (strangely titled "Way Leads on to Way") didn't cut it, so it's bye bye.
The first episode is a confusing jumble of vignette meet-ups that swing back-and-forth in time. I should have counted them (but who knew) and I didn't have a calculator handy.
Take notes as the show progresses . . . You will need them.
Just as the 3 life paths with different significant others squared would be 9, maybe this jumble could work with 2 life paths (squaring as 4) for Joe.
Also, not introducing the incessant back-and-forth timelines to around the second half of this episode, until the situations and characters were well established, would have added a lot of much needed clarity.
New Amsterdam: Why Not Yesterday (2021)
A Very Misguided Episode!
I tape the shows that I watch in order to see them on my schedule and to fast forward thru the frequent multiple commercials.
I finally got around to watching this episode (Season "Why Not Yesterday" aired 4/6/21) recently and was beyond disappointed.
I thought that I was going to watch a medical drama but instead was bombarded with the writer and director's over-the-top attempts to educate viewers on "systemic" racism.
Lead actor Ryan Eggold's performance came off as offensive as he over-acted trying to convince an audience of the writers and director's political viewpoints.
New Amsterdam should stick to being a medical drama (this includes a subsequent episode on gender "inequality") or risk losing your core audience.
