Doug (1991)
Doug reference to the 1930's
In the episode when Doug gets his picture taken; at the end of the episode, Skeeter little brother ate all of Skeeter's photos. Dale then goes on to say "Yum, Yum eat 'um up". That particular line is a reference to a 1930's episode of the "Our Gang" series in which an Indian person starts chasing Spanky around the house looking for candy that Spanky came him. The line the Indian use the phrase refer to the candy. Later in the episode of "Our Gang", Spanky uses a device shooting at the Indian. Unknowingly, the item was called a "nigger chaser" in which people used to keep them at bay during that time. In the 1930's, there were no civil rights laws in place.
Debt (1996)
Who could clear their debt first?
3 Contestants start out with a debt total in the negatives. At the beginning of the show, Wink has the totals made even for each player to make things fair. Categories were shown and dollar values were shown (up to $750 in round 1 and $1500 in round 2). COntestants were to give their answers in the "I am, you are" format. At the end of the 2 rounds, the player with the least amount of debt won the chance to go to the final round. In the final round, there were 2 question periods. The first one was to clear their remaining debt. The other would be a question based on the contestant's favorite topic that was asked of them prior to the beginning of the show. If they answered that question right, they could receive in cash, the amount of debt they cleared during the first 2 rounds.
