I'm Not Here (I) (2017)
2/10
Poor work
12 March 2019
Sorry to say this, but this is something unfinished, even the duration of the films 1 h 21 min nowadays looks like a short film to me. This movie is something a group of students could do, except getting famous actors who unfortunaltely do not show any good acting skills here due to poor directing. Characters and the story is lacking deeper development.

You Get Me (2017)
2/10
Same sh...., different as......
26 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So I gave this film two stars, could give none but one goes for clichés and the other for....hmm maybe entertaining me for a little wile. I was eating my dinner when I watched it, so I did not to have to concentrate and just watched "amazing" editing and use of neon lights.

I don't even think there is something to discuss about this film. Once again, grown up actors were playing school kids and the story was banal. Maybe a young version of me, lets say, 10 years old me, would enjoy this film. You actually may consider skipping some bits and just get to the end faster.

Dog Eat Dog (I) (2016)

Nicolas Cage- the actor of 2015 and 2016?
17 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Surprisingly, this was a good, entertaining movie with some ups and downs. Basically the story is nothing new-three men with their prison background want to pull a 750 000 dollar deal and live happily ever after. As it is kidnapping, they may be sceptical about this but their honest leader played by Nicolas Cage says: "I think these deals happen sometimes. You just never ever hear about it 'cause they run off to Hawaii, and you never hear from them again." What will happen to them you will see yourself.

So the good thing about this movie is the style, which is more likely made to attract younger audience. It is violent, colourful (neon lights seem to be very trendy in movies right now), fast paced and the soundtrack is just nailed.

When I looked at the cover, I thought-Cage, again? Maybe it is just a coincidence but he appears in every second film I watch lately, so 2015 and 2016 is Cages resurrection in cinema. He is not the best or worst actor, he seems to be doing movie business, that is it. Hope to see him in a more outstanding and challenging role in the future. Willem Dafoe, on the other hand, pushed himself and perfectly performed a semi- crazy, violent and confused character.

Maybe Dog Eat Dog is not deep enough and the story it too simple but it has a message and I think this movie will find its audience.

Mr. Church (2016)
3/10
A friend or a slave?
17 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The film begins with words "based on a true friendship" so I was looking forward to see that friendship in the film but did not get it at all. To me, this films was more like 12 years of slave, not friendship. This family and the girl especially, was just using him for a very long time. This could be a very touching story if it was showing a closer and more emotional connection between Mr. Church and the family. Seriously, I felt that he is just a nice person who is working there and that the girl is exploiting Mr. Church throughout her life. I have to stress out, that actors, cinematography, design was all good but the screenplay shocked me in a bad way. I believe the real story was touching but this movie is just a fail.

My 3 stars go to Eddie Murphy who surprised me with his confident performance.

The Nice Guys (2016)
4/10
Very disappointing film
28 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was waiting for this movie to come out for a long time. With two of my favorite actors in it, I expected it to be a good laugh and quality movie. But to be honest, after five minutes in the movie I started to be skeptical and nothing changed later. With a kid being one of the lead characters in the film and cheap toilet and dick jokes, it felt that this is a movie for teenagers. And when I saw a professional killer with a machine gun who can never hit any of the characters and always aims wrongly, I was counting minutes for it to end. I was very disappointed and this film is below any average film you stumble upon. I recently re-watched Starsky & Hutch (2004) and, in my opinion, there was much more tasteful humor, action and story than in this hopeless try to combine different genres.

Green Room (2015)

Nice action and brutal scenes
23 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Was surprised that the movie was much better than advertised in a trailer. The characters were presented in realistic light. All the violence in the movie was also impressively real. I closed my eyes often because could not hold some scenes. Suggest that people with weak nerves prepare to see some blood and cuts. Interesting was that at one point half of the characters were killed and I did not have to wait for them fall one by one like in many horror movies with long thrilling pauses with no action. As I am not a fan of X-man,it was really nice to see Patrick Stewart in a serious role, a quiet evil man who rules the modern Nazis. Even though lead characters are young people, this movie will be interesting to watch in any age company.
