They forgot to have fun.
1 April 2024
I think the viewing audience has had their fill of 'member berries'(thank you South Park). It is about time that ridiculous has a comeback. The first movie was great(original NOT afterlife) not only because it was funny, but also because it never took itself seriously(So much talent as well). As soon as I saw the normal looking ghost in Frozen Empire, I got a chill going down my spine, not in a good way. It was dread, the feeling was dread.

The jokes were stale, the action was boring, they used Winston as a token rather than a character (His importance was always undervalued, this movie drove it home in a way that felt a little off).

Oh and then that part where Phoebe helps Melody, was anyone else reminded of The Real Ghostbusters?(That show is probably the only tie-in that actually tried to honor the original). In fact most of Frozen Empire plays out like bad episodes from the cartoon.

Hollywood needs to stop forcing agendas on the audience and just let us enjoy a movie.

Excellent acting ruined by too many cooks in the kitchen

Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this show, I truly did. I watched up to the episode where Richie got a little poke from Sydney (this is after she had made the mistake of leaving the pre-order open) and then having her quit and put the blame on Carmen. I decided this show has no respect for the audience. How could she not understand she had a hand in the disaster on that day. Then her calling him names with the baker(who was making doughnuts when he was supposed to be cutting cake and then ended up quitting too), I opted out.

Cut to the new season, decided after hearing a few good things to try again. Huge mistake, they aren't even running a profit and they are expanding the menu? Franchising? Adding a project manager? The worst thing a new or struggling place can do is add more. Oh but they more than double down and ask for $500,000 on top of $300,000 they STOLE from Carmen's Uncle kinda Gangster?

I mean if you like spoiled folks never taking any responsibility(except Carmen and Richie), then this is the show for you. Otherwise, just skip this one.

Know your history...

To any one saying that the settlers weren't devious or that natives before settlers came were savages need to learn a couple things, 1:No real attempt was made to understand Tisquantum or Native culture, particularly religion. The closest that Governor William Bradford got in analyzing him was to say "that Tisquantum sought his own ends and played his own game, ... to enrich himself". 2: The annual growing season in southern Maine and Canada was not long enough to produce maize harvests. Indian tribes in those areas were required to live a fairly nomadic existence, while the southern New England Algonquins were "sedentary cultivators" by contrast. They grew enough for their own winter needs and for trade, especially to northern tribes, and enough to relieve the colonists' distress for many years when their harvests were insufficient. Meaning basically that Bradford had to deal with the natives and undersold their involvement in settling the land and feeding the people. I kinda see where you might think the Indians were evil, keeping people alive like that...good movie and Adam Beach was excellent in his first movie.

This movie reminds me of "A History of Violence" if...

Warning: Spoilers
You cut most of the heavy drama and add comedy.

Marky Mark Wahlberg is an assassin hiding in plain sight in the suburbs when his past suddenly catches up with him while he's running errands. Maggie Q, as one of the antagonists was just excellent and *spoilers!!!* (Her fight with Michelle Monaghan has this one part that had me laughing pretty darn hard.) Even the kid actors were great, they had their say and I still enjoyed this film.

The pacing is good, the director Simon Cellan Jones is solid, the action sequences are put together nicely. The music is kinda blah(imo) but not intrusive.

All in all an enjoyable movie that you can sit down and relax to. That doesn't sound like much but with the way things can get sometimes, it's great to sit for a couple of hours and just turn off the old brain.

It's odd, the drop in quality from season 1 to season 2
18 November 2023
You think instead of going with a cheaper studio for the series, the creators would've done tie-in movies with that studio to show more of Saitama's journey to his current power level. Blatant cash grab true, but that money then gets shifted into the studio for the anime. Then you get less time between new content(although not full canon still adds to the world) and a bigger production budget for the show. Season 2 would have been much better visually and probably still done by madhouse!

That being said OPM and Mashle(one fight dude starts calling out names of his muscles like they were attack spells...epic) are the best examples of manga/anime parody around.

And to those who dislike the show because of season 2, get over it please, at least the anime is staying true to the material. Plus season 3 could bring it back around.

I can't give the show a 10, I just can't!(some spoilers nothing that couldn't be guessed though)

Warning: Spoilers
The only issue I have with this show is that they spent way too long on the background of really terrible villains. Dabi is a coward, he couldn't take what his father was putting him through and left when he got the chance. This in turn led to the full breaking of the. Todoroki family. As much as he blames his father for the way things turned out, he is just as much to blame. Shigaraki is a sociopath, that's it. That's all i got for 2 seasons(could've easily been done in 5 episodes and 30mins of material) of material on all might's mentor's grandson.

To anyone saying, 'What about what Endeavor did to him?". He did the same and worse to Icy/Hot who became a hero and is trying to mend his family's deep wounds. I've said all I want to say about Shigaraki.

Then oh my word, Gentle! Wow 4 episodes on a child predator, way to go! Making people trying to sympathise with a monster, no thanks.

Jin Bubaigawara, that was a character I wanted to know more about, Twice was awesome.

Bakugo(or Ichigo as I sometimes call him), no matter how hard you try, the guy is NOT 1 note. His heart is a big as Deku's and his anger is only a shield.

This is a good solid anime and with a few small redirects, this show could be superb or even close to perfect. NO MORE DABI! Shigaraki is the type of person no one would ever follow, good or bad. This is as bad as One Piece with The Foxy Pirates(good aside but too much time spent on it for no real payoff).

Just hurry up and do the dumb thing and have Deku dying after defeating the worst villain ever and passing his power to Grape Juice. Or just kill off the villains you wrongly bet on(many others not just myself are waiting for these characters to die so the show can really get going) and find a villain worthy of the title for the big dust up that's coming. There are many to choose from.

2 movies in 1

So you a have this killer running around, meanwhile the kids at camp are enduring the real horror of the councilors. An excellent idea poorly executed. The kids needed to be 3 dimensional (the grown ups just needed to be sweetly evil), dialog was passable.

They should have gone for broke and went full dark comedy. Put some lines in relating to actual accounts of that "pray the gay away" bull squirt that is still going on to this day. More kills, definitely too low of a kill count. Oh and NO musical number, unless it's the killer, then that's fine. And when you have Kevin Bacon playing a bad guy, let him play a BAD guy, he is darn good at it.

All in all, a decent watch when nothing else is on.

Why oh why does Sam always get a pass.
8 November 2022
This is not, I repeat not a review of this episode. This is me wondering why a character in the show who repeatedly almost ended the world never once took responsibility for his actions. Sam always had a reason that "absolved" him and yet he constantly judged Dean who always took responsibility for his choices. My personal thought on this is that Jared Padalecki wanted the show to be his but the way Jensen Ackels played Dean made it impossible for that to happen. Also(again my own opinion) Padalecki can't act. Even in the Walker Texas reboot he was crap. Sam should have never come back after the end of season 5, it almost killed the show.

Well acted but falls short of comedy.

Mike Myers needs to realize that you can't do British style humor in a Canadian/American setting. Also, he is no Peter Sellers. Pick a role and make that it. Someone needs to pop his ego. Mr Myers killed anything close to being relevant after he made the love guru. Please for the love of the Pete, QUIT ACTING IN COMEDIES! You don't have it anymore Mike Myers.

Logan Paul ruins everything
7 December 2021
I am so sorry to Jessica Rothe, she is just a wonderful actor.

Logan Paul shouldn't even be called a person, all he does is move his poison from one place to the next. From Disney to YouTube to(God only knows why) Boxing. And then I find out he is in movies? Yup, I'm killing myself. Bye world, blame Logan Paul.

Seriously though HOW??? I watched one of his YouTube videos and almost(almost) made a plan to hunt him down and end him. The video was less than 2 minutes long.

This snuck under the radar
7 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a Disney produced movie that actually cost about(in 1979) about 150,000 thousand in total to make. How its budget got bloated into the millions(26 to be exact), well the company realized too late this was not a Disney kind of movie and since it was 75% done for under $90,000 by that point, Disney funneled some debt into it(kinda like the government paying 6000 bucks per hammer and 10 bucks per nail on a military expenditure ledger). Then tacked on about 2 million for advertising(but did it all go to that?). Some people were asked to leave after signing a NDA, but nobody got fired. Best part, movie(according to the trumped up budget) made a profit.

Why?
31 October 2021
The message about sexual assault is important. So how about make a documentary with survivors coming forward. You can't be entertained by any tv show, web show or movie with that disclaimer at the end. Stories are meant to invite you in not remind you of how your own father was a monster and blamed you for it. Bravo for making me relive childhood trauma...bravo.

Warning: Spoilers
To those reviewers out there that said "I figured it out right away," you were MEANT to. Did you not notice the "I am the circle, the circle is me" bit where Tom Hollands character is the only only one in town who doesn't repeat? Obviously the mayor is controlling the other men in town. That is what makes the lie blatant. You are meant to feel for Holland's character when HE finds out about the lie.

This movie was straightforward in its storytelling and all the actors did a great job in their roles. The only thing I wished was that they expanded more on the "alien" threat(put it in quotes cause it was their planet after all right?).

Seriously if you want to critique a movie, watch it through to the end and then think on it. Don't jump on the first thing that irks you...please.

When is Will Ferrell going to get sick of ruining movies
31 October 2021
I gave this a 3 because of Rachel Mcadams. But I'm sorry, I'm supposed to believe the her character and Will's are only about 2 years apart? Will Ferrell has never looked young and next to Rachel Mcadams, he looks like he is in his 70s.

Also he should stop adlibing, he has never been good at it and he is just all around terrible as an actor. He was almost good in The Other Guys but again he had to to do the stupid yelling freak out crap he has been overdoing since his time on SNL. STOP GIVING THIS OLD F@(£ PARTS IN MOVIES!!!

Laura Prepon. What prisoner has designer glasses, not a single hair out of place, perfectly plucked eyebrows and what looks like make up applied by an expert. I mean c'mon, I can forgive the little mistakes the show makes(how many staffers or actors have gone to prison). But really, her character came off as a spoiled snitch. She should have been shanked in the first season. But hey I guess the secrets she knew kept her on the show.

Ash vs Evil Dead (2015–2018)

I wanted to love this but
1 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Kelly(Dana DeLorenzo) just sucked, it's not like I was expecting oscar caliber here but, you should at least try. Every scene she was involved in grated at me. When the agent(Jill Marie Jones whom I thoroughly enjoyed everytime she was on screen) first found Ash and had her chat with Kelly, the story she tells of why she trusts and believes in Ash could've been better acted by a grapefruit. It was like she was reading from a cue card and just wanted to leave because she felt it was beneath her and it only got worse over the next 2 seasons as her ego pointlessly grew. Bruce and Ray Santiago however were an excellent pairing with Mr Santiago stealing quite a few scenes with his absolute commitment to the material. So unless you are a die hard Bruce Cambell fan(I really am, love Bubba Ho-Tep, My Name is Bruce, Sam Axe on Burn Notice, Man with the Screaming Brain, Alien Apocalypse and of course the Evil Dead trilogy) give this one a miss. The female lead throughout should've been the cop, maybe then there would've been more than three seasons.

Don't listen
16 April 2013
Phillip Dewaar learn to spell "creative" if you want to be taken seriously.

This was actually a innovative show. It also introduced a limited time frame though, 24 episode max. 9 people, bank heist, once the connections were made. . . done. The fact that it only reached 13 episodes was a realization on 2 fronts, 1-the why's and how's can only be stretched so far and 2 - nobody actually cares that much bank robberies on a TV medium.

Bank heists should be left to 3 episode fillers or 1 episode plot devices. Movies though, I don't mind if the main focus is only a bank, only because it is only a time sacrifice of a couple hours or less and not a week by week commitment between 1 to 6 months long.
