Forever (2014)
Versatile Show, Great Writing and Cast
My family really loves this show, from my husband and I to our teenage daughter. It's such a unique show in that it is several shows in one, a crime/police show, a history show, a romance (in the past and in the present), and a supernatural mystery all at once. The cast is wonderful, and Ioan Gruffud is phenomenal in the role of Henry. And it probably has the best and most unique father/son relationship on TV. We also love the show because it doesn't rush through every storyline; Henry's story unfolds beautifully and draws the viewer in more with each episode. Season 1 was amazing, and we're really hoping for more. We sincerely hope that it gets picked up by another network or venue. I can see many seasons left in this show, and it deserves to be seen. It's a gem!
Sex After Kids (2013)
Original, hysterical and heartfelt
My husband and I had the good fortune to see Sex After Kids at the Toronto screening, and we both couldn't stop talking about how funny and smart and heartfelt it was. If you're married with kids, at least one plot line will speak to you with a resounding "oh god yes!" and you'll feel not quite so alone in your own "after kids" experiences. The ensemble cast is wonderful, the writing clever and fresh, and the material is refreshingly raw and honest with a heavy dose of humor. To quote my husband as we were leaving the theater, "Every married couple with kids should see this," and I'd also add that there's plenty here for single/childless viewers to enjoy as well. We can't wait to see it again, and are highly anticipating Jeremy LaLonde's future projects.
