Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Not the best Indiana Jones film, but it sure was entertaining
I wish people would stop bashing Mr. Lucas.
I liked the film, I never expected a highly intellectual movie, but just pure entertainment, as all the other Indiana Jones movies were.
The young man in the picture was a cool drink of water lol, I liked his part, kinda getting in the footsteps of Indiana, duhhhhhhhh.
I must admit that the chemistry between Indy and Marion is not the same as in the first movie, its a bit more forced I would say, but then the chemistry between Indy and Mutt is all the more great.
Oh I do miss Denholm Elliot and Sean Connery, but Denholm is with the angels for real sniff sniff, and Sean is retired, so we had to do it without them.
Oh and the ending of them getting married, nice but a bit overdone, but ah well, don't mind it too much.
I must say I do like the thing with the aliens, I don't care if its overdone, so was every other ending of Indiana Jones...not? LOVED IT, very Spielberg Yeahhhhhhhhh. The old Spielberg was back for a while. He had E.T.'s again lol.
Little Manhattan (2005)
Yes that is what I look for in a good movie
Loved it, loved it, I love it!!!
My god, is that really how boys and men think when there in love? If so, well, then, its exactly the same as me (a woman). I always wanted to know what on earth goes on in a man's mind, if they fear the same "love"blocks as I do.
If this movie gave me a realistic inside on how a man thinks, then I know you guys fear the same things I do, in love.
Knowing that, I will try to keep it in mind, when he comes around.
I loved this movie a lot, they really should make movies like this one. Intelligent little movies made with a lot of love. The actors where amazing in it. I can remember when I was their age, and feeling something like love, but not really knowing what to do with it. I could understand the girls point of view. I was just too young as well to understand it all....heck I still don't understand love. Will I ever??
But people, this movie is really worth a shot. Brought with a lot of good humor, but never too much. It was just right every second.
One of the best romcoms in years.....when you can watch the film.
Fatty Finn (1980)
nice childhood memory
I haven't seen the movie lately, but when I was a kid, before I saw E.T., it was my most favorite film to watch. I laughed my ass off many times, great kids movie. If you get the chance, watch it! With your kids. Its hysterical.
The ways for him to get the money to buy this transistor radio. I remember seeing the radio and thinking: I want one like that as well. Knowing how it was to be a poor kid, and becoming very inventive to get the things you want. I could see a lot of me in him. Brings back memories.
Good family film, worth watching
My Name Is Joe (1998)
very very very impressive
I finally got the DVD today in the mail, so I could watch this film. Now I'm from the Netherlands and my English is pretty good, but my Scottisch is not so good (thank god for the subtitles lol). But, I did get the general message, which is pretty global. What Joe is dealing with, trying to stay sober and creating a good life for himself and his "family". Its very recognizable.
The acting was brilliant, and very very honest and realistic. There just aren't enough films like these. One's with REAL stories to tell, real life stories. What is so wrong with watching reality? Normal life is hard enough, and its OK to show that. We don't always have to see all the glitter and glamour of Hollywood.
People go see this film, if I had ten thumbs, I would give him ten thumbs UP.
Thank you Mr. Mullan and all the others working on this film for this beautiful honest film.
A Love Song for Bobby Long (2004)
I was told this was a dark film.....why do I feel so good after seeing this film then?
WOWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOOWOWOW, now this is a perfect drama film. When I forget I'm watching John Travolta, I know it is a good film, I know it is a good story, I know everyone is acting perfectly, I know this is a diamond of a film. Wow, well well done, everyone. These are the kind of films I'm longing for. Please keep them coming.
I love story's of real people, and not the kind of spectacular blockbusters (some exceptions). Everything in this movie was correct. I get goosebumps when I watch a film like this.
Now I knew Scarlett is a good actress, I already loved her performance in The Horse Whisperer. Strange that movie is never in a list of what she has done in the past, except here of course. When I saw her in that movie, I knew we were gonna hear more from that girl.
And I was correct. Its only a matter of time before Spielberg asks her for a part in one of his movies. lol. Which I hope he will by the way.
But this movie, without giving spoilers is a must see for people who like the real drama with a good story and a very very good script. Wow, I loved there conversations, I laughed and cried many times.
A must see for story lovers
Million Dollar Baby (2004)
very very moving
My congratulations to Mr. Eastwood for sharing this very moving story with me, and the rest of the world really.
Its is a very much talked about issue, deciding to end the suffering of a patient in much pain. I don't know if I could do it, you know, help someone to end it. Although I totally understand that she made this derision.
I'm from the Netherlands so excuse my poor English. I wish I could say it in Dutch I would sound a lot wiser lol.
But next to the PERFECT performances of the three main actors, I have to say something in favor of the Dutch lady who worked real hard on this film as well. Lucia Rijker, she trained miss Swank, and she played the part of the not so much loved Billie "the blue bear", yep the one who messed up Maggie's life. She did play Billie good, for starters, and she did an amazing job on miss Swank. I'm so proud of her. Very well done Lucia Rijker, I'm super-proud of you, you earned the Oscar as well.
I see and agree with all the congrats to Mr. Eastwood and Miss Swank and Mr. Freeman. I just had to congratulate Miss Rijker as well.
I loved the emotional side that Mr. Eastwood showed, he done it before I know, but I just love it when he does that. My dad loves his work as well, and I will tell my dad to go see Million dollar Baby with my mom. They will be moved just like I am.
Taken (2002)
wow
I'm glad they decided to make this series. All my favorite things on the television. A brand new series about aliens visiting earth produced by Steven Spielberg. That alone would wanna make you go see it. But still I started watching it with an honest opinion about it. I first saw the series two years ago on TV, I liked it, but didn't love it. Not so long ago I bought the DVD's and the last 5 days I have been watching 2 episodes each night. Now I really got into the story, now I got "taken" away by the story.
Without giving away to much about the story, because that wouldn't be fair. It was beautiful, a very smart story, very scary at times, not so much the aliens as the people chasing them. A sublime Dakota Fanning. Please, Hollywood, be gentle on this little lady, she is such a good actress.
I got many of the "signs" this time around, which make taken even more extraordinary. And that is what I love about movies (because every episode is a movie on its own) with Mr. Spielberg involved in it. If you get the chance, go see it, it is really breath taking.
The Passion of the Christ (2004)
an impressive view
I saw the movie last week, and the more the days past the more I think about it. Not so much the film, but more what the movie was telling ME. Me, dont forget that, what it was telling me.
Yes, the beating scene's were horrible to watch, but somewhere within myself I tought, he went through this for me. The least I can do is watch it. It was very painfull to watch. It made me cry and think: I'm so sorry you had to go through all this.
Now I wish that people would stop saying this film gives a bad view on Jewish people from that time. No, it doesnt. Not in my eyes. It makes the Romans look a lot more bad if you know what I mean.
I wish people would understand that not the Jewish people and not the Roman empire had ANYTHING to do with Jesus' history. I mean, I know he was crucified by the Romans, after Caiaphas demanded it. But I see it differently. There is a higher force behind all of that. They didnt see it, and now again MANY dont see it. Even if they didnt crusifie Jesus, God would get his way. Maybe in another way then, but the dead and the reseraction of Jesus would've happened. I hope you all understand what Im trying to say. Its hard to explain how I see it. But I dont put the guilt on any human being who ever walked this planet. I wish everybody could see it that way. It would've prevented a lot of people from being killed.
But the movie: A must see for Christians, but beware, its very very horrific and shocking.
