Ginger & Rosa (2012)
The Film Was Moving But Needed More Emotion.
Even though the film had great acting, good cast, good script and all that for most of the film, it was very dull. In my opinion. It wasn't until 10 minutes before the end it started to pick up. The last 10 minutes was the best part out the film, the rest was OK but I did end up skipping some parts. The part where Ginger was crying and her mum was trying to get the truth out of her was probably the most emotional scene or when the mum attempted suicide.
There should have been more emotional scenes, for instance, more drama between Ginger and Rosa's families. Just that extra thing would have made the film so much more interesting. Having said that, I prefer films with more emotion anyway, I don't know if this film was meant to based around that but I think it would have been a better film if it was.
Phoebe in Wonderland (2008)
Elle Fanning's Best Acting Role. Hands Down.
Elle Fanning was just.. I have no words. Why didn't she get any fame from this and yet she did for Somewhere, where she didn't do much? She was brilliant in Phoebe In Wonderland. She really made the film a whole lot better.
At first I thought it was going to be boring but now I have changed my mind completely. If nobody has watched this yet, then I think you should. This isn't a kids film, which at first, I thought it was. The Trailer makes it look like It's about a girl who gets a role In an play, but actually there's more to it than meets the eye.
I especially liked the part where Phoebe's mum noticed that Phoebe had been hurting herself, I actually got tears In my eyes.
Somewhere (2010)
It Needed Something To Pick It Up A bit..
The film was excellently shot and the choice of the cast could not have been better. However, the film as a whole wasn't very good. If Elle Fanning was not in this, I probably would not have even watched it. It is a very slow paced film In my opinion. Something needed to have happened like an emotional scene or a car accident, something like that could have given the film an extra push.
Some people disagree and say it's not about quality, It's about quantity. I agree but I didn't see much quantity in this film, but that's just my opinion. I don't this films very interesting. I like films where there's action or emotion.
This film isn't for everyone.
Furthermore, something of topic, Elle Fanning got most of her fame from this film? I am a fan of Elle but I don't think it was an award-worthy performance, she didn't do anything new or exciting.
