The Mother (2023)
Stick to posing for TMZ
I don't think that Ben Affleck, even in his delusional state of total love, actually bought his wife as an assassin. And yet both of them, expect the rest of the world to find her realistic in playing this action character. Sorry... But Ben's first wife did a much better job in "alias" then #2 does in this sad excuse for a thriller. The only thing worth watching in this movie is Omari Hardwick, because he is one beautiful man. Just one question J Lo... Do you think Meryl Streep would have played someone living in a cabin off the grid in Alaska and shooting her own dinner, in eye makeup and lipstick? Yeah...me neither.
Rabbit Hole (2023)
If the rest of the series is as great as the first two episodes...
... that should prove to be a blockbuster for paramount. It seems that Netflix and HBO do all their advertising for their originals, and Paramont doesn't do any. I was just about to cancel my subscription when "rabbit hole" popped up. As soon as I saw that it was starring Kiefer Sutherland, I knew I had to check it out. I was immediately engrossed in the story, the characters, and the quick action of this one. Kiefer does a great job as does Meta Golding, and the rest of the cast. Already there have been more plot twists and turns than anyone could've seen coming. If the rest of season one stands up to the first two episodes, season two will be a foregone conclusion and I won't be canceling my subscription anytime soon.
The Terminal List (2022)
Hoped it would be better than the badly written book...
...and it was slightly better. The book was simplistically written on a junior high school level, with badly developed characters, and cringe-worthy dialogue. This was pretty much along the same lines with somewhat better acting making the story a little more bearable. As to the question of the lighting... If they expect to do a season two... I suggest a new Director or DP as this show, even on my new Sony tv's max brightness setting, made being in a cave at night seem bright by comparison.
Reacher (2022)
seriously?
Having followed jack reacher since picking up "killing floor" in an airport book store the year it was released in the late 90s.... i had high hopes for this series. Whoever cast it... should be strung up by their fingernails. Tom cruise was not the physical representation of jack reacher, but at least he can act. This guy is like a walking slab of meat who can talk. Every line is delivered like there's a teleprompter in front of him and he's reading off of it. Yeah he's big... but maybe he should have gone into wrestling instead. Having read some of the other reviews that have given this one 8-10 stars, i can see it might be a hit with a large percentage of the reviewers. I guess they're easily impressed and don't care about the acting or the writing as long as there's action. Too bad...there's a lot more to the original character of the late 90s/ early 2000s reacher than just being bigger than the next guy and being able to beat people up. But it doesn't like the producers of this one care about those minor details that actually made it great book series (until the last 4-5 books) and the majorioty of their audience doesn't seem to either....
p.s. For the reviewer who wondered why the actor playing reacher talks so fast...it's because he can't act and can't remember what his lines are so he's just spitting them out as fast as he can remember them.
