A History of Violence (2005)

WHat's going on with viewers today? MAJOR SPOILERS!

I can't believe this movie is getting such good reviews, I finally saw it today. *** SPOILERS********** Alright, so the movie starts off with a shot of a chair, then the director spends ten minutes extra trying to get us to understand that this is a loving family, done. Tom Stall, played horribly by Viggo Mortensen is a former criminal from the east, Philadelphia to be more specific. He has successfully relocated to a small town in Indiana and all is well - until his diner gets robbed. Tom reverts to his instincts and kills the two men and now he's a hero. Took long enough to get to this part, now we see Tom Stall's son getting bullied in school and playing baseball, very useless if you ask me, doesn't do anything for the story. Ed Harris shows up at Tom's diner claiming he's "JOE CUSACK". We know the bad guys want TOm, why is not yet known. After some pointless sex scenes, yeah married couple performing 69, the bad guys finally reach Tom at his house. Tom goes psycho and kills all the men after we FIND OUT Tom's brother, Richie, wants to see him. This is mind you 50 minutes into the script, NOW we find out Richie wants to see Tom or Joe, whichever. Tom has some make up sex with his wife on the steps which is so out-of-place it's not even funny. Very unnatural dialogue also detracts from this film. Tom's son suspects of his past, and tells his father, who mind you has been good to him all these years: "WHat are you gonna do, WACK ME? Like those two guys in the diner". LOL! What's that? A son saying that to his father after he killed two men in self defense, trust me, the dialogue is horrible, and so is the acting. We're now well into the third act, we still don't know why these ppl want Tom for, finally Tom visits his brother Richie. Turns out, all Richie needed to do was call his brother up, yep that's right - A PHONE CALL. No need to send five guys to get killed when you can just call your brother up. Alright, he calls him up and Tom meets RIchie at his HUGE MANSion. We now finally figure out the reason for all this VIOLENCE> Tom was crazy back in phili and he killed a bunch of dudes, now RICHIE can't move up in the criminal world because of his brothers actions. EVEN Though he has a huge mansion and lives well, his brother being alive is messing everything up! SO, instead of leaving his brother alone in Indina, he decides it would be better to kill him. Yeah, he's as good as gone in Indiana, but NO! He wants to kill him. SO Richie attempts to have Tom killed and Tom of course kills everyone in the mansion. He goes back home and lives happily ever after. Very bad dialogue, very bad direction, very bad acting. 4/10 stars NEXT!!!!!!!

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Falls short

Well, I went into this movie with expectations low, we've been treated to lousy films one after the other, Return of the Jedi has prepared us for this trash. Like in return of the Jedi they're a lot of useless talk and silly moments in this movie, Ewaks belong in Lord of the rings, not Star Wars, wouldn't it be funny to see a death star in LOTR. The fights which were the big fuss were nothing more then two people staring at each other with lame things happening in the background. AS expected he put everything together, But for some reason you will feel empty at the end of the film, sure the fans are cheering like they've just won the lotto, but all in all there is no jackpot in this film, A New Hope and Empire strikes back are still the best films of the series, and this movie is just the same thing all over again.

no usually when i see a post like this, i might ignore it and see the movie anyway. Well believe me, heed THIS warning. The Untouchables looks like a very slick classy classic. It is not.

It is cheap, with painfully dumb scripts and dumber acting, of course followed up by Sean Connery's 'i'm a great wise guy actor' role.

This is film is insulting to intelligence. One minute, they will be busting speak easys in the heart of chicago, then it will cut to them on horseback somewhere in the West, foiling an alcohol import. What's more this film tries to lace with humour and it ends up being indecisive whether it is trying to be a shocking gangster movie or a cheap gun toting knock off, reminiscent of Mcguiver. 7.8- i give 3. De Niro even fails to deliver in this movie mainly down to the weak and implausible scripts, the actors look uncomfortable and stupid on camera like you would remember acting back in Junior School.

Go ahead if you like, but prepare to switch off.

If you want to see a movie unrecognized, but is truly magnificent, and in my opinion thee most underrated movie of all time i urge you to see Contact.

Do not be put off by its IMDb rating, in fact don't bother looking just see it. TRUST ME THat was by ultrajagger1. BUT THE BOTTOM IS BY ME!

THE MOVIE IS OUT OF THE TOp 250 AND RIGHTFULLY SO, it Stinks!

Kung Fu Hustle (2004)

Not bad, and not great

I saw Kung Fu Hustle at the ziegfeld theater in nyc premiere today, and for the most part it was entertaining, good action, OK story, and lots of laughs. Stephen Chow even made an appearance, he said " Let me not waste any more of your time, I hope you enjoy the movie" So it was cool that he showed up, now back to the movie, it is funnier then shaolin soccer and of course the action was done well, theater was cracking up on a couple parts and so was I, Cool characters, neat story over all I rate it a 6 out of 10, if you're into this kind of film I guess you'll like it more, as for me I'm not a huge fan but it was worth my time, Stephen Choe keep up the good work!

Astoria (2000)

This movie was horrible

This had to be one of the worst movies i have ever seen, EVER, i hope this comment gets put in the main page, the person who left the comment was a student of the directors that is not fair, the movie was slow and story was horrible, i can't believe i watched the whole thing, well if you want to see a bad flick check this out, oh no i neeed to put 10 lines of comment, well i saw the movie 5 years ago and that was more then enough for 1 lifetime. OK let me recall it best to my knowledge, the movie has a Greek son and father, and his father is a gambler, spends all his money gambling, he owns a little morning mom and pop shop in which he sells food, he gambles against this "greek Gangster" so yea the kid is shown in various spots around astoria, so yea i don't know what else to say!

Hello! i was reading all the good REVIEWS, posted for Collateral and ** SPOILERS LATER ON**started to get a bit annoyed, i feel like IMDb is only choosing the good ones and throwing out the "bad reviews, but anyways the film starts off slow with corny Unnecessary dialogue, The movie is slow moving and NO Over head shots don't make a movie good, just cause hes Micheal MAnn doesn't mean you need to make him feel better, he did what any other Director would've done, Tom tries to play the BAD GUY to no avail, and Jamie Fox's character, who i can't even recall his name anymore started to remind me of that dude Screech from saved by the bell, he was a nerd and on top of that couldn't act, BUT WAIT! IT GETS BETTER! Cruise begins to talk about Mr. JamiE foxes problems and personal life, OH NO WAIT! it gets better! JAMIE FOX! and CRUISE go and visit Fox's MOTHER WHO IS IN THE HOSPITAL!!!!!! to say hello to her! What a nice guy cruise is, not my type of hit-man, THen Mr cruise takes so much crap from Fox and Doesn't even do anything to him, what happened to being a cold blooded hit-man? oh wait sorry assassin, << said it in the movie description, BUt after long thought i figured it out, CRuise's Character Vincent, was really gay, and he liked Jamie fox and wanted to hook up with him, AND AFTER! he learned that Pynket SMith, and him exchanged #s he went on a rampage, he wanted to get rid of her, before she stole Jamie away from him forever and ever, Jamie though not admitting to his homosexuality, went from Dud to STud within seconds, and was able to ********* SPOILERS*** destroy Vincent, who allowed him to do so cause he truly loved him, YEA Collateral, not all that great, but nowadays what is? you should check it out once, no more ACTION IS GOOD, and i mean damn good, but not enough of it, IF you want to enjoy this movie, don't take it seriously, cause you'll just get a headache just go with the flow and be like, fine, thats cool, BUT DO NOT FEAR MOVIE COMMUNITY, I AM ATTENDING THE NYFA THIS YEAR, and WILL MAKE GREAT MOVIES WHEN I GROW A BIT OLDER, Now wouldn't it be cool if CRUISE SURvived and started killing all the bad dudes in La and NY? starting with that cuban dude who said something about santa clause? OH YEA! HE tried to Explain something by using SANTA CLAUSE AS A SIMILARITY! COOL MOVIE HUH! yea So Cruise really didn't die in the train, he comes back and he starts taking out all those bad guys! with A lot MORE ACTION, AND CRAZY SICK STORY, NOT CHEESY TALK, Micheal MANN! MY AIM NAME IS GRKMAGAS85! CONTACT ME FOR A INSANE SCRIPT! Hit-man 2! OWNAGE!

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Nothing new, just better graphics

WEll, i went in the movie with not so high expectations, especially after the first film let me down. I think of myself as a fair guy, and decided to go watch spiderman 2. THe movie starts off slow and leaves you staring at awkward moments, the acting is more of the same from Tobey, but i have to admit, Franco outdid himself in this film. Spiderman must now defeat DR.Octavius who is the bad guy in this movie as if you didn't know, He must face tough decisions like usual, and go into burning buildings to save babies once again, HMmm i think the director forgot that he put that in part 1, i will not get into details, for that will spoil things, but when you begin to hear the fans in the thearter, you know the movie is moving slow, there will be many parts where you as a spiderman fan will be like "OH NO WAY! How is that happening?" "ok how does he from hero, to zero, in a matter of seconds" BUT YOU MUST GO AND SEE IT TO FIGURE IT OUT! It's nothing new just better graphics, meaning more detailed fight scenes, So i do recommend seeing it, but not more then once unless your a hardcore fan, the critics are giving it A+ reviews as i type this to hype it up, and in some respect it deserves that A+ but in my view, its a ***/**** not the BEST, and surely far from the worst, SO CHECK OUT SPIDERMAN 2 keep the expectations low, and you will have some summer fun

Hero (2002)

Hero is a movie about Honor, respect and SWORD FIGHTING TO THE EXTREME

Yes i decided to pick up hero from online, expecting it to be no less then another chinese sword flick, well i was wrong. Quentin Terantino presents this Masterpiece. It involves 5 unique characters all connected in their same goal, to defeat the emperor. Jet Li plays the main character Nameless, who's quest is to gain trust in the emperor so he can get close enough to deliver "Death within 10 paces". The emperor brutally murdered his family when he was young, THATS WHY HE WANTS TO KILL HIM DUH! Will he get to the emperor? well you have to see the film for yourself, its an action packed emotionally filled movie with breathtaking scenes, you'll be asking yourself "how did they do that" Well i tried to see the making of the film in the dvd but i couldn't understand a single WOrd! oh well cant wait to see it on the big screen and buy the us DVD!
