The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Often more is worse and this movie was the case, but...
Spidey is back and ready to show us the potential of their own universe.
The power of OSCORP has been declining due to large-scale accidents related to this. With the death of its CEO, Norman Osborn, is the height of his son, Harry Osborn, taking the reins of the business, but your priorities may jeopardize the company. In trying to find a cure for his condition, Harry uses all the resources of OSCORP to get something that Spider-man has. Meanwhile, Peter Parker discovers what it means to be the friend of the whole neighborhood.
Expectations were very high for this sequel. Once you have done a fantastic job in "The Amazing Spider-man", Marc Webb returns to take charge of this new franchise head web, and despite its realization have fulfilled all expectations, the film as a whole left a bit to be desired . This is not just a story of Spider-man, but the door to an expansion of the universe for this character. Many say that "Iron Man 2" was like a trailer for "The Avengers", this was (partly) a trailer for the movie of the Sinister Six.
The film certainly has a lot more than what is necessary. The opening scene, in which we saw the same opening scene of the previous film but this time from the perspective of the father of Peter, has no impact on history. We have three villains in all, Electro, Green Goblin and Rhino. The first is the main villain of the film. It is one that has a greater presence on the screen and cause more problems to the hero. The Green Goblin, well, not in the movie for only one thing that will not be mentioned. And then we have the Rhino, which has no role in the film is limited to only appear at the beginning and end.
The cast returned to do a fantastic job and greater recognition goes to the new faces. Jamie Foxx stands out first by being concise throughout the film. The other new member that deserves to be recognized is Dane DeHaan for his Harry Osborn / Green Goblin was at least perfect. The work that the actor did with what he was given, was phenomenal. Forget Willem Dafoe and James Franco, if ever there was a good Green Goblin was the DeHaan despite all the problems that caused the plot in character.
The universe of Spider-man is very rich, and often more is worse and this movie was the case. If they had taken things more calmly could have taken the ideas of this film and have done two. What counts is what this is ultimately good save and make us accept his blunders.
Game of Thrones: The Lion and the Rose (2014)
The episode was not bad, but could have given more.
The royal wedding is just around the corner and this will be an event that no fan will want to miss the series. Now that the war subsided with the defeat of the North, it's time to Joffrey ( Jack Gleeson ) and Margaery (Natalie Dormer) give the node, biggest party in the Seven Kingdoms ever seen. However, beyond the Wall, Bran ( Isaac Hempstead Wright) still looking for three-eyed crow while going seduced by its power as warg. Although not yet recovered from the tragedy of the previous, Westeros is preparing for the wedding of King Joffrey Baratheon and Lannister house, with Mrs. Margaery Tyrell house. The series did not make a big fuss of this event was supposed to. Recently, the only thing that made us think this wedding was the arrival of Oberyn Martell ( Pedro Pascal ) to King's Landing, but only that. It would have been nice if they had given more time and created more buzz about this wedding. The greatness that is supposed to be this is not discussed, the lack of money to finish the plans for this, none of the dilemmas in the book spoken about this party appears in the series. Maybe because of the time and they had other things that the producers found to be more important, is not this episode dedicated entirely to marriage, unlike what they did with the Red Wedding. Either way, these choices have only served to take the force at the end of this episode. This end for which everyone was waiting. The episode was not bad, but could have given more. One thing is certain, Westeros has a fetish for weddings with any color, and the addition of a lion with a rose could only result in Purple Wedding.
