Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
A Spirited Sequel.
An Indiana Jones movie represents a fine example of the spirit of adventure on screen. A seemingly irresistible genre for majority of audiences. This sequel thrives of it's predecessor, for example, it can be as, if not more ludicrous and still work.
Indiana Jones personifies our interpretations of an action/adventure hero being a blend of an spontaneous, relentless, wise - guy with just the right amount of luck you can't help but root for. Of course, Indy always has to have fellow personalities to bounce off, making you root for the guy more.
Temple of Doom gives "Raiders" fans more of what they want, and however mixed the reviews, you cant deny they pulled out all the stops on this one.
Pacific Rim (2013)
Clichés are inevitable.... but.....
I will say this for Pacific Rim; it has been the strongest and best Summer, "popcorn" movie thus far. The supposed $180,000,000 budget hasn't paid of yet, which is a shame (possibly because of the lack of star factor or franchise, advertisement effect?)because, as mentioned before; yes the clichés are there and it's rather unoriginal story-wise etc. though I couldn't escape the fact that Pacific Rim was ambitious and if your a fan of "creature features" this ambition was realised, kudo's Del Toro, who better to design creatures to attack a city than the creative mind behind Pans Labyrinth. Not to mention the fact that not only the robots packed a punch but this film also pacts an emotional punch....
