Silent Witness: Schism: Part 2 (2006)
Too many things didn't make sense
This one lost me. What happened?? So many things didn't make sense. Why were the rabbits so important? Couldn't the activists have just taken a picture of them? How would the company even know these rabbits are still alive? Why would this business hold people hostage and pull their teeth out? Way over the top - they're businessman, not torturers. And surely some employee would bloody notice. And who the hell was Simon Traynor talking to on the phone? It could have been anyone. Clearly as a policeman he wouldn't just listen to some rando on the other end of the line. Lastly, why would they just shoot Adrian at the end? There was no justification for it. He didn't hold any kind of weapon, or threaten anyone at that point. That would've been against any police protocol, and probably illegal. But no one protest, not even Nikki who just spent the last hours chatting with him about university. And why would none of the extreme animal rights activists protest against their friend/boyfriend just being shot for nothing?? And also mention that a guy from the company just threatened them with a massive gun and ran away with those animals. It all just makes no sense whatsoever.
Lastly, the episode portrayed animal right activists in the most stereotypical way ever, as if everyone who cares about animal rights is a crazy loon that lives in the wood and violently attacks businesses. It was all not coming together for me. Maybe my least favourite SW episode.
Silent Witness: Cargo: Part 2 (2006)
Mixed bag - great topic, unrealistic writing, some poor acting
I really liked the topic of the episode. It's an important issue to cover. I like the glimpse into the desperate lives of these people and how they come to make desperate decisions. 10 starts for that. Sadly, the writers made the show incredibly unrealistic. Chung would have been long dead, for some reason he survived the virus much longer than all the others. And they told us there was no cure. And apparently a 6-year old girl can survive 5 days without food or much water. 0 stars for the realism. I also would've liked the writers to tell us about Chung and An's fate as much of the episode centres around them, but we have no idea what happens to them. In terms of characters, I've always liked Tom's, William's and of course Amanda's acting, precisely because you can't tell they are acting. With Emilia, sadly I just always feel she's acting. So I find her scenes a little less enjoyable than the others.
Sarangeui bulsachak: Episode #1.15 (2020)
Makes no sense
So the brother confessed to wanting to murder Se-Ri, and there's a recording of it, but he's not detained by the police, who overheard it, and is running around freely for the rest of the episode. I like the series, but this episode makes no sense.
The rest of the episode is fine, but this really bothered me.

Gilmore Girls: The UnGraduate (2005)
Too many wrong decisions in the story line
Somehow the series lost its appeal at the end of the last season. It's weird because the story line of mother and daughter having a falling out is interesting, but for some reason the series lost its soul in the way they are portraying it.
And I've been noticing story errors as well. For example, Paris said in this episode that it's the first time she'll have consistently spent the night with a man. But she's been with Jamie and Asher before. It makes no sense.
In addition, TJ is an incredibly annoying character. I do not understand why they keep on bringing him back. And saddest of all, they decided to pair the amazing strong-willed Lane with the dumb guy from the band... Seriously? That's insulting to the character. Also she was completely in love with Dave, but we never hear about that relationship again, and suddenly she is dating their common friend. It's all not right!
Gilmore Girls: A House Is Not a Home (2005)
Badly-written and contrived episode. One of the worst!
This episode is so badly written and contrived. Until one episode ago, Rory was fully committed to school, behaving like she always has, was having a great relationship with Lorelai, and preparing for her finals. On top of that, she's always been a well-grounded, confident and balanced person.
It makes therefore no sense whatsoever that purely based on one man's opinion of her journalistic skills, she'd suddenly steal a yacht, flunk her finals, quit the Ivy League college she worked her whole life to get into, and then - instead of working it out with Lorelei like she's done her entire life - go behind her mother's back to move in with her grandparents.
It's all happening completely out of the blue and it completely out of character. And names for a very unsatisfactory watch, I could barely stand it.
They should have either shown her decline over more than one episode so it would be a little more believable, or chosen a different season finale. Lastly, Alexis acting was horrible on this one. Her behaviour did not match her alleged inner turmoil one bit, and her decisions therefore came across as even more unbelievable.
In short: Horribly-written episode. What were they thinking?
The Fabelmans (2022)
Sweet, but somehow without heart
Very sweet moments in the movie, but just way too long. The acting was great, but I have to say I felt myself drifting off at times. Somehow it felt more like a story about his parents, than about him. I think maybe making this film helped Spielberg himself understand his parents better, so he was exploring their relationship in every detail. But the film left unclear where his passion came from. What he enjoys about filmmaking. How it makes him feel. His motivations were not made clear at all.
Several scenes were interesting with regard to his life, but they were lacking in the sense that they did not help understand him better as a person, like the prom scene for example. Somehow the movie was lacking heart & soul.
Harry & Meghan: The Complete Story (2022)
British media bias and negative influence exposed
The bias the British media (and public) have is exposed here...not just in the series, but also in this comment section.
It's a very real portrayal of the negative affects the British media always had and continue to have. (I am including the so-called "Royal experts" in this.) Naturally, they are now coming out in full swing against this series. What saddens me the most is how the British public let themselves be influenced by it, and how there's no accountability for the media here, who are arguably destroying lives.
I found this series genuine and am incredibly happy for Harry and Meghan to take back the narrative of their own lives. Sadly, the majority of the British public continue to hate. I'm a London-based non-Brit and I have to say the character of much of the British public this relationship revealed, I found frightening. People here just bathe in drama. Don't listen to it.
Meghan is an intelligent, gorgeous mixed-race woman. Jealous Brits couldn't bear to see her happy.
Coyote Ugly (2000)
Some lack in depth, but not that sexist
Enjoyable watch, could have more depth. It's easy to label this movie as being sexist, but I'm not sure those people actually understand it. I agree some scenes in the first half are sexist, but I am thinking more about the portrayal of those desperate hyena bidding for Kevin (and not the girls dancing on the bar).
The movie really only starts after Violet gets fired and her head washed by her boyfriend, and when he calls out that she's wasting her talent. He calls out precisely that the men don't cheer for her because of her singing, but because she's wearing short skirts. This is about a woman trying to stand on her own two feet, getting sidetracked by easy money, and almost forgetting her dreams. It's about getting lost, and overcoming your insecurities. Pretty empowering to me.
In the end of the day, Violet learns her lesson. And the other girls that dance on the bar do it because they use the money for going to law school (Zoe), or because they genuinely enjoy it (Cammie and Rachel). Finally, Lil is a calculated and very capable female business owner. I've seen more sexist movies than that. If the movie is only about women dancing on a bar for someone, than maybe that problem lies more with them.
Having said that, it's a nineties/early noughties movie, so you have awkward script about sexuality and - in true Hollywood fashion - some lack in depth.
Stranger Things: Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab (2022)
Makes no sense
So much of this season doesn't make sense. I hate when this happens to a good series!
1. Are we really supposed to believe that One wouldn't have been able to use his own powers (or any sharp object) to take that chip out and escape? That he lived in this horrible institution willingly for all this time? Makes no sense
2. Are we also supposed to believe that Eleven lived with all these children in the institution but never mentioned this to the others? That there's so many people with these special powers out there? The way the episode with Eight was written made it seem Eleven was mightily surprised to see another person with powers.
3. Are we also supposed to believe that all the demogorgons in the upside down are gone? Where have the gone? The place used to be full of them, and now the teens can just cycle through there and don't encounter any? Of course the ones that had made in through the gate into the real world all died, but the ones inside the upside down shouldn't have..
It also looks very different from the scary place it was where Hopper and Joyce found Will.
4. That demogorgon moves very differently from the ones they creators showed before. They used to move like animals. The guy in this episode moves like a person.
So many errors. No adherence to the rules of the Hawkins universe they themselves created. I don't like when this happens.
Grey's Anatomy: Do You Know? (2014)
Superbly written
One of the best episodes.
If you're past your twenties, you'll be able to relate.
It really hits home if you have ever made a big decision in your life that you didn't support one hundred per cent, and shows the different outcomes that could have.
