68 Whiskey (2020)
If you thought this might be another M.A.S.H., you were wrong.
Looks like Ron Howard has sunk to a new low. Show starts out with a couple having sex in a supply room at a FOB, then transitions into a bare knuckle fighting match, then a soldier who's selling rugs and gets killed. From there
we find a soldier who's trying to run scams, one who's trying to trade medical supplies for drugs, all while disobeying orders. And just to make it a little more tacky, about every tenth word is the "F" word. Not a very good way to show support for our troops in Afghanistan. In fact the military has very little to do with the storyline. Definitely a big letdown.
S.W.A.T. (2017)
Entertaining but not realistic
If you like action and adventure, but don't care about realism, then this might be the show for you. In the first half hour of the show they show so many policy violations that the entire team would be on restricted duty. Uniform officers with beards, pulling the SWAT vehicle right into the middle of the shooting scene, no backup and closing off of the area, firing the team leader without any investigation or trial board, and the last I knew LAPD does not accept lateral transfers, so Officer Street would have to go through the Academy, break in, be off probation, then apply for SWAT and pass all the testing, and that doesn't cover all the violations! I wish the show well, but I don't expect it to became a docudrama of truth.
The Hateful Eight (2015)
Not as good as I'd hoped
Despite my better judgment, thought I'd check out this movie because I like Kurt Russell and Westerns. Other than Kurt's performance, and one scene at the end, the movie was terrible. Acting was OK, but the story and directing were terrible. Definitely a waste of my money to see. My wife is a big Kurt Russell fan, so she wanted to see it, and even she thought it stunk. If this only had 5 stars for rating, I'd give it a 1.5. So almost three hours of waiting for it to get good and it never really happened. They take hours to lay out the storyline, then the last 20 minutes to wrap it up. Some of the main characters are eliminated too early making you wonder where they are going to go for the rest of the movie. Considering it was written and directed by the same person, I won't waste my time seeing any of his other movies. Haven't really cared for his previous movies either, and won't be seeing any of his future movies, if he even has any.
Hansel & Gretel (2013)
Not the Hansel & Gretel I thought it was going to be.
Who would have thought they would have put out THREE Hansel & Gretel movies in the beginning of 2013? Thought this was the one with Jeremy Renner, so was shocked not to see him in the beginning. Paid to see it, so watched it anyway. Most 2nd rate movies are called "B" movies, if I was to give this a "Grade", it would earn an "F". This is like one of the bad horror movies from the 1950's. Story kind of jumps around so you're not certain what's going on all the time. This is supposed to be a "Realistic" type of situation that could really happen, but then people are stabbed with items and keep getting back up. The ending is so hokey I can't believe they did it other than to put the poor movie, and the audience, out of their misery!
Certain Prey (2011)
Terrible story
Mark Harmon was great, and you could see shades of "Gibbs", so I was hoping that this would be a little like NCIS but with a different twist, but I was greatly disappointed. The storyline is a little disjointed as they start talking about a young lady who was raped and instead of just hurting the rapist she decides to kill him. She is then recruited by a crime organization to become a professional hit-man, then you are introduced to an attorney and it appears that this is the same person, it's not until later that you find out the lawyer is a different person and you have no idea how she becomes connected with the assassin. You don't know what's going on and who is who because the story jumps too much. At the end the assassin call Harmon's character and they talk and you don't know if Harmon's character is a bad guy or a good guy. Could have been a really great movie, but it missed the mark.
Gardening by the Yard (2004)
Great show
Entertaining, funny, and educational. The humor is cute, so you won't be bored, but you'll also learn a lot about how to take care of your plants, garden, and yard.
The variety of information in the show means that there's something for everyone, no matter where you live or what type of garden or plants you wish to have.
Also covered are subjects such as fish and pond care, as well as construction, types and use of garden tools, storage areas, green houses, you name it! If you can put it in your garden, whether that be in your yard or in your house, this show will answer it sooner or later.
