Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
An awesome superhero teamup flick with story depth and rewatching value
Let's just set the records straight. The story doesn't alter much from the 2017 version except for one key change. Glympses of a new villain. Other than that, it's the same story.
However, the movie just depicts what a director, good VFX and great background can improve a movie. The movie realizes the full vision of Zack Snyder (which fans fought for years). The movie gives each character their own mini movie and each character is masterfully done. The biggest improvements are Cyborg and Flash. They have a full arc of story and proves their worth in the Justice League team.
One thing I must add is the action sequences, VFX and beautiful cinematography. Fabian Wagner did an absolutely amazing job and the film's start at Nordic Area with Aquaman is absolutely fantastic to look at. Ben Affleck with his white bearded look and shades absolutely is the best portrayal of Bruce Wayne (Couldn't believe I'd write that anyone could best Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne).
The soundtrack by JunkieXL is a massive improvement. It's tough to compose music for a 4 hour movie but the soundtrack compliments the action sequences and screenplay pretty well. (Would have loved to hear the original WW track a bit more though)
If I want to write a review of the #SnyderCut aka #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague I must talk about the man himself, Zack Snyder. The man worked for free for the last 1 year just to complete his vision and give the Fandom what they wanted. Zack is probably the best visual story teller in Hollywood right now (James Cameron said he gets inspired by Zack in an interview).
Despite being very talented and doing wonders, Snyder is one of the most misunderstood filmmakers ever. His movies are full of ideas that are lost on the superficial audience and the critics. He is like a comic book fan's wet dream. His movies carry the characters and have deep themes (same in this movie), and yet, he fully delivers on the visual style and bombastic action. The best of both worlds.
The horrible irony is that people still hate him. Half the fans hate him and think he doesn't know what he is doing and the critics hate him because they aren't even trying to look past the bombastic action and dig deeper into the meaning behind everything.
Drishyam (2015)
I don;t always write a review, but when I do, the movie must be like "Drishyam"
What a movie I witnessed! First of all, I won't give much credit to the new crew for making this movie. As it's a remake, all credit goes to the original writer-director Jeethu Joseph. What a brilliant, gripping, thrilling, and flawless thriller movie has he written! Full credit to him to even think of a such an awesome plot and execution.
For the remake, I can say Ajay did a good job, but it could be pretty much done by anyone. The script is the main and only thing that snatches away everything. Just mind blowing. If you're a fan of classic thriller movies like Shutter Island, Se7en, Fight Club or even Ocean's 11. You would love the film same as those. Just go with it. You can't go wrong with this!
Happy New Year (2014)
Worth The Time! Will Thrill, Entertain and Make You Laugh At The Same Time
I don't write reviews normally. But seeing the IMDM user reviews filled with low stars, I took the courage to write a review.
The first of all, if you don't WANT TO LIKE the movie, and you don't have enough time to complete, in a hurry, you won't like it. All 3 hours will seem to you total nonsense. However, really it isn't. You need to refresh your mind, and just see the movie. You're definitely gonna like it.
What's the main things that it has to offer other than countless movies? It's a pure entertainer with logic. It has a strong storyline, correct drama and a brilliantly done heist (the theft of diamonds). People who have confusion that it'll be a rip off of Now You See Me and Ocean's 11, really it isn't. No, not even the concept.
It has comedy, it has action, it has the dance, it has romance, it has drama, it has a sense of nationalism. It's a great complete package and even some early scenes were too bit extravaganza, but once you skip this, it's a complete solid package. Do watch it. It'll put a smile and give you goosebumps in the end.
To compare three Farah Khan films, I'll rate Main Hoon Na>Happy New Year>Om Shanti Om.
Gunday (2014)
Awfully Misguiding! Better Learn History First!
This review contains spoiler. The movie starts with an awfully misguided information. They insist to show a history which they manipulated by their lame brains. They claimed it as a fictional movie and fictional history to match movie's script but oh boy! they made such a huge mistake.
The movie says that "In 1971, The Indo-Pak war was finished." Totally misguiding and awful. If you want to say something about history, you better learn about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangladesh_Liberation_War
The movie also indicates that newly born Bangladesh's people was madly in love to get Indian nationality. I mean WHAT THE HELL? Find it totally humiliating the Bangladesh nation.
Such an awful misguiding movie. Besides, after the start, the movie is a mixture of Tamil+Indian movie which is a bad mix and resulted an awful experience. Time waste. Don't worth the money at all.
Sherlock: His Last Vow (2014)
One of the best Sherlock episode. Satisfaction at its best
Haters gonna hate but believe me, if you like Sherlock this episode will blow your mind and satisfy the core of your heart.
If you were bored by the first two episodes like me, this episode will remove the boringness. This episode was very much needed to restore the reputation of Sherlock series. This one episode proves Sherlock is here to stay and blowing minds in regular interval.
As always, Benedict Cumberbatch did a fabulous work along with Martin Freeman. Besides, you'll always like conversation between Mycroft and Sherlock. Their witty conversation will give you pleasure to watch. Enjoy this episode. The villain is just as good as it needed to be.
Moffat and Gattis nailed it.
