As good as the First
11 June 2016
Now You See Me 2 Loved the first one, had to see the second one. It had all the good characters in, Lex Luthor, the Hulk, Haymitch Abernathy, Alfred, God and even Harry Potter.

The movie had a good plot and it was a really fun movie to watch, the acting was good. I mean this is totally Jesse Eisenberg movie, rather than the other one he completely Butchered. *Cough* BVS.

The effects were good and it did a good job at keeping me entertained. The Villain of this movie however was not so good. The acting was alright, but it did nothing to make me feel like he's a legitimate threat. Also the plot twist were a bit predictable, you kinda knew that the 4 Horsemen would be ahead of the villain for the most part.

All in all though, it was a pretty good movie.

Warcraft (2016)

Didn't expect much, that's what I got

Warcraft

After being a fan of the game, and having read a lot of the Novels on the lore it was kinda expected that I would go watch Warcraft the movie. Did I have a lot of hopes? Not really, they normally always find a way to butcher a game movie. In fact that's always been the case where games and movies don't match that well.

This movie was not that different from my expectations. The acting was really bad, the script was really bad, the sequence was really bad. The Lore was sub par as far as the story went, in fact it was distributed by Blizzard so they had to get that part right. But the casting was poorly done, and the actors don't portray the lore that well.

The only good part about this movie was really the effects, which I have to say was spectacular. The visuals were very well done, the CGI was very realistic, I mean you can tell the bulk of the budget went in the visuals and not the actors.

I would recommend this movie to fans of the game still, it's worth a least 1 watch even if it wasn't that good. I would not recommend it to anyone who's never played the game. The story is fast paste on the lore which expects the audience to already know a background of who people all.

I give Warcraft a 4/10

Man of Steel (2013)
8/10
Enjoyably Good!!
19 June 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Man of Steel:

"Up in the sky, It's a plane? It's a Bird, No it's SPOILERS"

For those of you who are not familiar with the story of Superman, and how he came to be, then I'm pretty much gonna be spoiling that.

A boy from Krypton, born naturally from Jor-El and Lara-El is sent to earth after knowing the destruction of Krypton was upon them. General Zod threatens to find baby Kal-El, because Jor-El implanted the Codex within his blood. The Boy arrives on earth and is found by a kind farmer and his wife named Jonathon and Martha Kent. Clark Kent was the name given to baby Kal-El and he must grow up as a human adapting his power and fitting into society.

This movie was good. The first time I watched it I was mind blown by the visuals, and the action. The second time around, I started to notice a lot of flaws in the movie.

First of all, let me just say, making a Superman movie is one of the most complicated things you can do, because the fact is Superman can fly, and humans can't. So movie directors need to make sure that the wires they put on the actor doesn't show to make the actor feel awkward. That's always been a problem with Superman films. You can tell they are hanging by strings, rather than it being all natural looking. This movie succeeded in doing that. Maybe two scenes you could tell he was on a rope, but the others, it made me believe that that man was flying.

"Too Much CGI" OK that is one of the critiques I've heard, and I painfully disagree. This is the first time they were able to CGI a perfect Krypton. The visuals were impressive, and I believe taking away the CGI would have forced the writers to film on Earth, and Earth isn't the same as Krypton. So Fill her up with a giant Green Screen and let the magic work.

The action was also a lot of fun. Seeing superman fight and learning was awesome, it made me sit at the edge of my seat the whole time!

Alright so the movie was good, but was it the best Superman?

The answer is, maybe. But I can assure you, it's the first of its kind to be done this way.

OK so can it be better?

The answer to that is, Yes, this movie could have been a lot better.

First of all, the flash backs, It's a new way to introduce Clark Kent, and how he came to be. But it drags on, and on, and it makes the movie so slow and boring midway. It starts off with Krypton and Jor-El is fighting Zod, and everything is fantastic, and as soon as Krypton explodes, it's downhill from there, till Clark gets taken on the ship.

Though of course they needed to show Clark's story, that's a must, but I believe they could have found a shorter route than long flashbacks over and over again.

Second, The acting, My god was the acting bad. Henry Cavill who plays Clark Kent does make a good superman, as far as looking like him. His acting does need some work. He looked like a subtle William Shatner. "My father.....Believed......that...the..world...wasn't...ready....for me..." Amy Adams, playing Lois Lane. By far the worst Lois I've ever seen. I'm sorry, Lois Lane is one of the most Courageous, independent, sarcastic women in the DC Universe next to Wonder Women of course, and has much as Amy tried to pull it off, she couldn't. Especially when I'm there looking at Amy and then Compare her to Margot Kidder from the Original Christopher Reeves Superman, or Erica Durance from Smallville. I know she is trying, but it just wasn't her thing. Then you have Martha Kent. Oh My God, was a disappointing performance. The part where Clark comes home and tells her he met up with Jor-El and she gives the worst fake smile and says "I'm happy for you" It made me cringe in my seat and wished that never happened.

Thirdly, the camera shaking. I think they had an idea when they made this movie to say, that Superman is so fast that the camera can't keep up with him, and it makes it like we're in the movie rather than the audience. But it got so distracting and so hard to follow along. I'm sure people also started to feel a bit of motion sickness from the 3D and the shaking.

So 3 Major flaws in this movie. Problem is, as good as the story is, as good as the action is, and as fun as it is, those flaws can kill a movie. But I don't believe it killed this one. This movie had so much structure so much support, that even with these three flaws, the movie was still very successful and I very much Enjoyed it.

This movie gets an 7.5/10.

The good part about having an average grade for their first movie, means if they fix the issues in this movie for the sequel, the sequel will be even more impressive!!

Furious 6 (2013)
5/10
Better, but far from being good.
28 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Warning: There will be spoilers in this review, specifically one scene, that I really need to talk about.

Alright lets get facts, I liked the first three movies, I honestly can't remember what happened in the forth one, disliked extremely the 5th one and I'm at a neutral stand point on the 6th one.

Story is basically Hobbs played by Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson needs help catching a gang of terrorist who stole billions of dollars worth of Military equipment. He seeks out our main character Dominic Toretto played by Vin Diesel. (I always found it funny that his last name is Diesel.) Which is pretty much a criminal and likes to break every law out there, including laws of physics it would appear. And of course he gets the team back together after their last adventure of stealing 100 million $ to try and catch these terrorist. But why would Dom want to help a cop you might ask? Well lets just say, he saw a ghost.

Lets talked about what I liked about the movie, well the action was a lot of fun. And they had 2 races this time, (Car chases don't count as a race) Though they had a lot of those which I can't say the same for Fast 5. Needless to say they were more in a car than before, and that is what I want to see from these movies. Not a Drama Flick, which needless to say, there was a lot of that as well. It had some comedy to it that also I found enjoyable. The Characters were relate-able as well.

Now lets talk about what I didn't like about this movie. I know, just as much as anyone else who likes American movies that Hollywood, really goes the extra mile at bending laws of physics, especially when it comes to movies that are suppose to be based on reality and not fiction or fantasy. What I really don't like is when they go beyond the extra mile in racing movies like this. Purely Critic talking, you have to obey laws of physics if your going to base your movie in real time. You are using real places, real cars, in areas where things could really happen. You cannot bend the rules and make cars rip through a cockpit of an air plane.

Let me elaborate on this. The final action scene of the movie, is where the Antagonist is trying to make an escape through a moving plane, and our heroes need to stop them before they get away. THANK GOD THE RUNWAY IS AT LEAST 20+ KM LONG!!. This scene literally starts off with the Bad guys, and the good guys chasing each other on a runway, for a good 2 minutes as what I'm assuming judging by these cars 220 km/h+ then the air planes comes in, lands on movement, and we now have them trying to get in through the cargo area in the back of the air plane. They get in the plane, getting out of their cars, then fighting. Meanwhile the others are shooting these grappling guns on the wings (attempting to hit the engine). And as the plane starts to take off, it stays a the same height for another good 5 minutes not going any higher. Before you say, they were making a (meanwhile) kinda thing by going back and forth outside of the plane to where the cars were, and inside to see the fighting, shut it, it's still to freaking long! After 15 minutes of being on this runway, the Power ranger Turbo (seriously it really did make me think of that) got to bring the plane back down, and might I add that this wasn't a little power jet, no this was a beast of a plane, with like the 8 wheels. They bring the plane down, and Vin Diesel, drives literally THROUGH THE COCKPIT OF THE BLOODY PLANE MADE OUT OF STEAL, LANDS IN FRONT OF THE PLANE. Mind you he does lose control of the car, but he roles out of the way just in time.

You cannot do that. Sure it is really cool to watch, and it's all action, and most people are like "Holy crap that is so wicked that I wanna name my first born Vin Diesel" But you don't know better, you really don't. This isn't the kind of movie to be bending the normal laws of physics. Sure, take this story, put it in a planet called "Nos" then do that stuff. Non-Ficton Action flick demand to be realistic. This was the biggest scene of the movie, and I'm picking on it, because it was the worst. But they do it all over the movie. The part about the tank, and catching the girl in mid-air. There is so many things I could talk about in this movie that pisses me off when it comes to realistic. But I made my point. I'm giving this movie the rating that I'm giving it because yes it may have ticked me off with the realism, but it was fun to watch for the most part.

I give this movie a 5/10.

One of the greatest!
29 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
So, the movie I just watched was "The Sixth Sense" Many people ask, why is M. Night Shyamalan still directing and writing movies, when everything he makes now is crap. Well the answers to this, is because of this movie. By far one of the greatest Thriller movie of all time.

It's about a young boy who has the ability to see and communicate with Dead People. This little boy's name is Cole Sear, played by Haley Joel Osment, and for you gamers out there who absolutely love Kingdom Hearts, he's the same actor who does the voice of Sora. After an accident that happened to a Child Psychologist Dr. Malcolm, played by Bruce Willis, whereas one of his former patient had shot him, because Malcolm wasn't able to help him. He decides he needs to do what's right, and he find Cole, who had the same symptoms as Vincent, the boy who shot Malcolm.

This movie has drama, funny moments and it's an extremely emotional movie. The acting is so good and so pure that you can't help but feel like you're right in there in the movie. The child Haley Joel Osment has so much talent in acting, that at the time he was 11 and does way better acting than most actors who had 25+ years in the trade.

The story is overwhelmingly good and the development and psychology in this movie just gives you goosebumps all over the entire movie.

Why M. Night Shyamalan...how did you produce something so good an pure, and throw us crap with your other projects. I'm guessing the guys at Hollywood think "We have faith that this Shyamalan will somehow bring us gold one day.

And the ending! It made me stand up and yell out "Oh My God! This is genius!!!" I give The Sixth Sense, a 9.5/10 Officially one of my personal Favorite movies.

The Shining (1980)
9/10
Probably the best horror movie of all time.
24 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The Shining.

The story revolves around a father who was a teacher, but decided to take a job as being a Caretaker for a 5 star Resort hotel, which would be shut down between November and May for winter. He would take this time to write a novel.

He moves in with his wife and his boy Danny who has a very mysterious imaginary friend called Tony.

Through out the stay in the hotel, Danny starts seeing things that weren't really there, IE two little twin sisters and an old lady in a tub.

The father played by Jack Nicholson, was beginning to get a psychotic break down as the days went by. Finally he loses it and attacks his family.

This movie is a classic. Probably one of my favorites of the horror genre. Of course it's silly now, but to its credit, it was made in 1980, which makes it a 32 year old film. The acting in this movie is surprisingly very good. Even for Shelley Duvall. The emotions put in this film is superb. I would agree though, when the kid does start having visions and it just cuts to his face being scared is more funny than anything, but for a 32 year old movie, they did it very good.

The movie has no problems keeping the audience captivated with the whole psychological evolution that Jack goes through.

It's no reason why so many other movies and TV shows have made reference to this movie. It's just so damn good.

This movie has my applaud with a rating of 9/10!!

Looper (2012)
8/10
Very Decent, very clever
16 October 2012
No Spoilers will be shown, the story is basically the public knowledge shown on the trailers.

The story is about this man named Joe who is played by both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. Basically his job is a looper. In the Year 2074 civilization has created time travel however it is highly illegal to use it. It is then controlled by the highest criminal mafia in the world. In the future they cannot kill a person, so instead they send them back 30 years and the looper will kill them. When the young Joe saw the Old Joe standing there, he hesitated and the plot clashed.

The story was very confusing at first, but the movie does a good job to explain to us as it goes along. To be honest at first I thought this was going to be bad, the story took some time to build up, and the plot just didn't seem to have any structure. Once the movie did pick up, boy did it pick up. It became intense as the hunter became the hunted.

The story had emotion, action, we laughed and cried. Many places where things appeared to be stupid ended actually be part of the story and working out. There are though, a lot of silly moments in the story that to my opinion could have been left out and the story would have been just as good. The acting was very good. Also kinda shows how much Bruce Willis is getting old, but can still pack a punch. I give this movie an 8.5/10!
