Oppenheimer (I) (2023)

Waste of time and an opportunity.

The camera changes shot every half second to a second so you cant watch anything without becoming dizzy. You cant focus on any of the scenes and what is happening. The Dialog doesn't make sense, it sounds like some weird operatic reenactment like "I am the great Oppenheimer making the bomb!" "yes and I am the great sergeant who will help you!".

They start to touch on a topic, mention it, show 15 scenes in 3 seconds, jump to another point in history, and don't explain any of it. All of the "dialog" is also drowned out by atmospheric music so you cant understand what they are saying.

The movie feels like "history salad" just getting thrown at you, They don't explain the actual relationship to Einstein or why his other peers did/didn't like him, They failed to explain the details of creating the bomb and just do a hand wavy mention of physics topics.

Honestly, the countless documentaries about the making of the bomb are much better, captivating, and comprehensible. This was a huge wasted opportunity to educate the public on real history instead of making a movie that is incomprehensible.

Action Point (2018)

I loved this movie!

Not only is it educational about Action Park, but Its hilarious because of how true it is and how the 1970s were. The stunts are amazing and hilarious because of how real they look. Chris Pontius and Johnny Knoxville are amazing in this. They are really good actors too, there are dramatic scenes in the movie I was truly wrapped up in.

I highly recommend this movie to all!

Vincenzo (2021)

Extraordinary and Amazing

I love this show.

It has amazing character development, acting, writing, story, humor. It's absolutely fantastic.

Some have compared it to James Bond but I think that undersells it. If you were a fan of Burn Notice (like myself) you will also love this. It reminds me a lot of burn notice with the character development, the action, and the humor. All of this and the story and action are all believable.

The Many Saints of Newark (2021)

Terrible Movie

I don't like to write reviews to say "ohh this is bad" or "that sucks" because its difficult to make a movie. But this movie was terrible, considering its Sopranos related and supposedly created by David Chase. Here are my reasons why I think it is:

The dialog does not exist, there is no story, no investment in the characters, the CG is low quality, the lighting is bad, there is too much trying to be done, everyone looks very similar, there are no original cast from the Sopranos, and Tony Soprano is barely in it.

There is simply no story, there's just nothing going on for lack of better words. It doesn't have the comedy the Sopranos had and the gangster acting is way over the top.

The Umbrella Academy (2019–2024)

A soup of depression with no payoff.

I liked the idea of the show, the Actors are amazing and it is shot well. I'm also a big fan of Ellen Page.

I've been watching from Episode 1 Season 1 to Episode 7 Season 2. The biggest problem for me is there is no payoff and things get worse and worse. The characters become more depressed, more bad stuff happens, more sadness, more loss, and all for nothing. Its a really depressing show to watch. Why would I want to watch a show were things get worse and worse for the characters I grow to like? Will it ever get better for them? I'm almost 3 seasons in and so far its gotten worse for them so I gave up on it. Not only that but I have a feeling the writers are going to do some "it was all a dream" bs for the ending.

Then you have the trope of bringing multiple characters back from the dead more than twice. This is ok to do it once or twice for an entire series but if you do this constantly its seems like bad writing.

Compare this to "The Boys" for example, there is some sad parts but they are redeemed and justice follows. There are huge payoffs and things get better for the characters as the show goes on.

TLDR; I really wanted to like this show too but its just wayyyy to depressing and the good guys seem to never win.

The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996)

This movie made me throw up in my pockets

This movie is very very dumb, The writing is awful and makes no sense, the reasoning/motivation for every action makes no sense, the lines are awful. It's obvious Brando just did stuff and no one could say anything because "hes Brando" so the film suffers from his decisions (such as wearing a bucket of ice on his head for no reason).

I will say this; The acting itself is well done. The actors/actresses do an amazing job with the terrible script, plot, motivations, and direction of the movie. Fairuza Balk does an amazing job and actually took me away from the terrible movie briefly with her great acting. I gave this 2/10 instead of a 1 because of the great acting by Fairuza Balk and David Thewlis.

It's a shame because I think all the actors and actresses really wanted to work on the project because it was with Brando and it was the first major film for some of them. Unfortunately Brando's arrogance, terrible writing, terrible plot, bad directing all sink the movie.

A few ways I think I would improve the film is this; use less camera shots, stick with just the shot of them in the car pulling up to the compound instead of showing the whole place in 5 different shots. I think for this movie, less shots would have helped keep the mystery and the creepy of the island. Besides that the writing needed a huge overhaul and the actors (not Brando) needed more of a say.
