Vatican Girl: The Disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi (2022)
The reason I hate reviews
Disgusted by most reviews. Modern audiences/people are so one-dimensional and dull. They want Marvel films. An easy storyline, flashy, a linear timeline and a nice wrap up closure, so they can sleep safe and sound. If a story depresses them and leaves them, oh no, got forbid, having to use their brains, ask questions and draw their own conclusions, they're immediately upset and give a 1 star review out of frustration. Well guess what? Real life isn't that simple. You don't get to have someone else digest everything for you and give you a nice, little, happy ending served on a plate. This documentary explains the complexities and struggles of real life, all the dirt hidden under nails of politicians and cardinals and the suffering of honest people. Want to see real life? The disgusting misuse of other people's struggles for self promotion? Want to question the establishment and dig deep into a scandal around a cute girl whose name should not be forgotten? Watch the series. Want a Hollywood ending, so you can move on? Go watch Marvel.
The Walking Dead: Rest in Peace (2022)
I expected the final 6 episodes to give us a closure on 12 years of TWD
Honestly, I expected something greater towards the end of the show. The fact that Rick and Michone were missing for so long I thought created a great arc into something grandeur to happen in these last 6 episodes. To give us some answers of what's out there, is there something greater than petty local battles. Plots that we had in initial seasons when they were searching for bigger settlements, labs, cures, etc. Seems the remaining writers did not have the capacity for mind-blowing final twists AFTER 12 YEARS OF BUILDING other than creating yet another fatigued immoral leader of a town with her blind followers.... not to mention so many illogical plots just for the sake of tension, like not letting the people through the gate when there is clearly more than enough time to do that and more than enough space for everyone.
I suppose they followed the comic plot and having seen episodes building up to this final one, I was prepared not to be blown away, so my expectations were lowered and just went along. I understand they created a foundation for many new spin offs where we may finally set off into the unknown, but it's still annoying. Watching a show for 12 years building up to something, only to realise that that something is more just more plots that will generate more profits for the franchise. I understand the game, but I don't like it.
Great ride overall. I can safely say that those of us that made it this far, hold the show dearly in our hearts, the show that peaked many years ago, but when it did, provided some of the best twists, pieces of acting, entertainment and tension a show can provide. Rest in peace.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive: End of the Road (2023)
Not including Vettel in this one was insane, but was it not by choice?
I am not as critical as many in here like to be. You can't please people nowadays. It's a great, entertaining show and it helps the fans get more depth to things going on behind the scenes, so to say.
Two things I cannot understand how they were left out:
1. The whole Perez saga and the tensions when Max did not act as a teammate to support his second spot in the drivers championship, with a fight for the second place until the end ultimately being taken by Leclerc. I mean, you sometimes seek the drama and you just had it served on a plate there, with Perez giving his all to aid Max's first title the year before.
2. I think everyone expected some final retrospective on Vettel's career, I mean he's a legend of the sport and had some amazing performances towards the end of the season. Missed a cinematic moment for the ages when the three podium cars were doing donuts and out of the smoke appears Vettel and does a solo donuts performance one last time. Honestly, given there were zero interviews with him, I can only assume that he actually insisted that Netflix leaves him out completely, which is an utter shame, but explains why they gave him the middle finger and made it all about Dani. I would have done it differently though and say that despite the fact that Vettel didn't want to participate in this documentary, we still want to pay respect to the great champion, so here's a little piece we prepared. Would have been classy and down right by the sport. This last episode just feels wrong without this closure, but I'm giving Netflix a benefit of a doubt and skill giving kudos for an entertaining show. Cheers.
The Office: Michael Scott Paper Company (2009)
One of the most wholesome moments in the show
Dwight and Scott duo scene was the pinnacle of wholesomeness. Started petty as usual, with the two of them trying to outdo each other to impress a girl, but then they just keep building on each other with technical ability, creativity and skill. The girl didn't know which way to look as they both try to grab her attention, stunned by the bar they are both raising... and then this magic moment happens when they realize that they are both crushing it and they seamlessly just shift focus on each other. The girl disappears and there it is. Two men, who nearly killed each other fighting over a lady colleague, now produce this wholesome scene where they stop competing and just enjoy the moment, appreciating each other and what they managed to create together. It was beautiful. Had to end like it usually does in the Office. Abruptly.
Might add that is not the main focus of this episode, but that was my little highlight. One of many little magical moments the this tv show gave us, as it built characters.
Making a Murderer: Indefensible (2015)
Infuriating to watch
The man pushing Brandon to write up "their" confessions and draw pictures of stabbing and sex is a sick human being. To make it worse, he was sent there by Brandon's defendant. Really wonder how some people live with themselves and sleep at night.
Making a Murderer: Turning the Tables (2015)
Deranged people
The extent of this witch-hunt and the extent to which the system is willing to break any moral and ethical codes to protect itself goes beyond any expectations of a rational human being.
These people are psychopaths. Shocking... And this is only the second episode.
Ozark: Fire Pink (2020)
Breaking Bad fanbois need to get off their high horses
Yes, Breaking Bad is great, but let's be honest, it starting deteriorating with each season, distancing from the original emotion of the show into a classic holiwood action drama with a growing number of flaws and unrealistic scenes.
Still a great show, but STOP using it as a milestone, a benchmark never to be reached by any show. If anything else, this spot is reserved by The Wire.
Ozark has it's own storyline, it's own flaws and qualities, but unlike Breaking Bad, it really does get better with time. It brings out the deepest human emotions we got to see in Season 1 of BB.
This BB elitism and arrogance is some of the reviews is laughable. You're not critics, you're just biased fans who think your opinion matters in here.
