The Invisible (2007)
6/10
Not what you would expect.
5 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This was not a bad movie by any means, but I was a bit disappointed.

I'm not going to explain what happens in the movie thoroughly, as most other reviews do this already, but I will say this movie is not a mystery like the trailers indicated.

Essentially the main character Nick Powell, gets beat up and left for dead, by a gang, headed by a troubled teen-aged female. Through the course of the movie, Nick, even though he's near dead and a ghost, begins to sympathize with her, as she has troubles at home and a little brother who she's never there for. Then they sort of turn it into a kind of Romeo and Juliet. I won't say anymore than that.

Just to make sure that if you don't go in expect a mystery, you might actually enjoy it.

Dragon (II) (2006)

A decent attempt

I'll give it a 6 for not terrible acting, the action scenes are OK and the effects are not great but you can tell they had a low budget to work with. The reason I didn't give it higher is mostly because it's slow, and there's way too much talking. Most of the time they're not even moving while talking. Granted to tell a story he wanted to tell, with limited budget of course he felt he had to have the characters reveal the story, but that's just exposition, which is not what movies were made for.

Had to fast forward it through half the movie to keep from getting bored. If they would have kept them moving at least, you'd have something. But 5 stars for effort 1 more for everything else.

Texas Rangers (2001)

Enjoyable, but could have used more character development.

I don't know why people are saying this is a horrible movie. It's actually a very enjoyable movie, but was a bit short, and short on character development. The actors do decently for being mostly TV actors, and the scenery was great, as well as the music. And it doesn't suffer from pacing problems. I almost wish I could have seen it in the theatre. Overall a good movie. As far as historical accuracy, I don't know, but Hollywood has been known to extend the truth a bit. For the most part, however, it is fairly believable. Don't listen to people that say it's a waste of time, make your own decision, but I believe it's at least worth a rental if not more.
