The Last Airbender (2010)
Terrible
Just saw this, I don't know what to call it. It was the only movie I've seen where everyone in the theater booed at the end and threw things at the screen. I feel like it was written by someone who can't read, write or care about their or anyone else's work. How do you take something that seemed like such a good idea and make it so terrible. I hope that the man or men responsible for this never get work again. This is what I would hope qualifies as a career killer, because I wish I had slept instead of going to this movie. I want my money, time, and expectations back. As in I expected at least good fun with the 'bending' or fight/dance scenes. I feel like I just got served... Do not watch or let ANYONE YOU KNOW GO TO THIS MOVIE, AND SOMEONE SHOULD PETITION TO CANCEL THE OTHER TWO(three?).
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
oh well
I really expected something special with all the positive reviews I'd seen, but in the end it was just kinda blah. The characters weren't quite right...Arthur was less outraged and confused than he shoulda been, Trillian was all emotional, and Zaphod was not so much crazy as he was a complete idiot. Ford was about right, but he wasn't consistently funny. I love the hitchhiker's guide. The book remains a fond memory of when I was little, but this isn't a fitting tribute to it or Douglass Adams. I can only hope that a sequel is made with better direction and people thinking more about the characters and the dialogue. I think that it is fine visually, but the acting and script was killing me. I still urge people to see it; there are some scenes in these books that I would pay to see put on screen, and there is very little chance that anyone can mess up source material as good as the Hitchhiker's books.
Con Air (1997)
failure
this movie sucks because Johh Malkovitch sits there and acts crazy, but sounds more homo than homicidal, it's not realistic(I don't have to explain that one), and everyone is running around just trying to squeeze out some one liner thats going to somehow make it worth watching. Steve Buschemi in in the movie, technically, but because he does almost nothing, I left wondering why? Why would they throw him in there, make him so scary, and have him do nothing. I didn't find the characters realistic; I left the movie feeling like I'd just watched a fantasy flick instead of an action movie. This just not that good of a movie. I felt like the writers would try to save the audience from boredom by throwing in some violence whenever I started to nod off. Failure. Thats a word I would use to describe this movie.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
woah
I got chills early on in this movie. The acting was that much better than the others. It took a much different direction than the first two movies, being much darker, almost Gothic to a degree, but instead of alienating every the audience and jumping around too quickly, like Van Helsing, I think POA was very engaging and accessible. Disappointments include, the werewolf and Dumbledore not being silly enough. I know that the new guy might have a different interpretation, but I like the goofiness that Richard Harris had brought to the role. I do like how the new dumbledore is a powerful character and we'll see what happens with the next one I guess...
Arlington Road (1999)
what?
I read some of the comments about this movie, and it seems like everyone who disliked this movie is a little off themselves. The plot is a little contrived, but almost everything falls in place; in other words, it is well done. There are movies where the plans work out in some way that just is way to 'out of this world' for me, but this one worked. What if a network of terrorists were conspirators and manipulated innocents into doing their dirty work?

One part that I did have a problem with was, 'How did they know that (jeff Bridges) would be able to keep up with the van? and how did they know that he wouldn't stop the van from going in before he got the rental car under the FBI building? 7/10
