Sweet Sixteen (2002)
A raw and very bleak look at life in Scotland
Ken Loach delivers in this well directed powerful drama that shouldn't be watched by the faint of heart. Only adults 18+ should view this (Don't watch if sensitive). In the depressed town of Greenock. A teenager is determined to help his mum get out of prison and lead a normal family life. He lives in a poor district in a poverty stricken home. I'm not a huge fan of Scottish movies, but this one is definitely up there with the very best in Scottish cinema. Liam, the top billed actor in the movie plays as a responsible teenager who lives a tough life and is amidst anarchy and trouble. He mostly enjoys spending time with his friends and causing some trouble himself. There is not much hope for Liams future as a family man and his poor mother in jail. I can't take anything away from this movie, but I would have gave it an 8 or so if there was more humour and hope for Liam & his family. The film is by no means entertaining to watch and for some is a hard dose of reality of life in the rough areas of Scotland. Watch at you're own discretion as there is a persistent, non-stop barrage of swearing and very strong language along with some disturbing scenes of violence and a dark, intense atmosphere throughout.
Silent Hill 3 (2003)
A very dark and well crafted game. Very good story and plot. Maybe the scariest game I've ever seen.
Very dark, and very frightening. Quite possibly the most frightening experience one will have playing a video game. One brilliant thing about the Silent Hill series is It's unpredictability. For instance, when you hear a noise and think a monster is there, It's actually just a sound effect to surprise you very sharply and make you panic and wonder. The Konami team do an exceedingly good job of creating genuinely scary sound effects that can have you on the edge of your seat, sometimes so sudden that your heart skips a beat. Although Silent Hill 3 isn't the best in the franchise, it is far from the worst. I would rank it as the 3rd best in the series after the 1st two games (In my opinion) being my favourites. The eerie, creepy, gloomy atmosphere is done again, really well. This is one of those rare games that can actually give you nightmares. The Lakeside Amusement Park, which is one of the oldest operating theme parks in America is incredibly eerie, especially when Heather 1st enters the park and falls to her knees in agony as she is giving birth to a demon god. Most modern horror of this generation (Again, in my opinion) seems to lack that "Fear factor" and just seemingly focuses just on the gory violence. Silent Hill 3 executes both these qualities, and even more so in terms of fear factor. Any Silent Hill fan who hasn't yet played the third installment to the series, is missing out on a great game. Highly recommended for any Silent Hill fan.
The Machinist (2004)
Mesmerizingly excellent. An amazing movie!
Pretty disturbing and disorientating at times. The Machinist is pretty disturbing but compelling and mesmerised me throughout. John Sharian plays as Christian Bales "Tormentor" if you like. His character is particularly disturbing and brilliant. Bale is superb as an incredibly thin industrial machinist worker. He only weighed 8 stone, 9 lbs in this! There are 2 comments from women saying "If you'd be any thinner, you'd probably be dead" It's hard to believe he put on 109 lbs in the 2005 Movie Batman Begins! Christian Bale, whom plays as machinist Trevor Reznik has frequent hallucinations of Ivan (John Sharian). There is a disturbing incident involving Reznik and Miller (Michael Ironside) in the workplace. Reznik hallucinates and sees Ivan, who isn't actually visible to anyone else, and when eye contact is made between the two. Ivan does a disturbing gesture across his throat. Bale inadvertently catches a button with his back and Miller's arm becomes trapped on the conveyor belt. Bale can't stop, even with the emergency button. This results in deadly consequences with Miller having his arm amputated by the sharp blades on the machine. A chunk of his arm is shown spinning in the machine. This is IMO, the most brutal scene in the whole Movie. Bale catches Ivan on the road and yells "We need to talk!" Bale says "A guy lost his arm, he could have died!" Ivan replies "Thats not my problem. You caused the accident, not me." Bale later on ironically gets his arm trapped and blames Miller for the whole thing. Telling Miller it was all set up as a revenge plot on Reznik. Later on, Ivan takes Rezniks son to an empty building and when he finds Ivan in there, to Rezniks horror, he finds out Ivan killed him! Bale attacks Ivan and Ivan says "Where's you're hospitality partner?" You can't expect Reznik to be polite after what Ivan did to his son. Reznik attacks Ivan, who is armed with a knife and takes the knife off of Ivan by surprise. He violently slits his throat and goes to dump him in the sea rolled up in a piece of carpet. In the distance on the beach is a bald man resembling Ivan walking down the beach, with Ivan's motionless carcass in the carpet. Reznik throws the dead body into the sea, but to Trevor Reznik's horror, the body disappears like magic! The man behind him flashes his light on Reznik and utters: "Who are you?" Reznik is in sudden fear and is paralysed to the spot in disbelief. It's Ivan, and he's alive! And, not only is he still alive, there are no wound marks on his throat! Ivan then says: "Well, looks like you've got some explaining to do partner." And he chuckles like a maniac. Ivan gets his revenge by sending Reznik to prison and taunts him as he walks into prison. Reznik is left in a cell and the film ends. I like the eerie atmosphere giving it that horror and gloominess. It is one of those Movies that drags you in and has you glued to your seat. I highly recommend anyone to watch this, especially if your a Bale fan! Give it a watch! My rating: 8/10!
Ong-Bak (2003)
Tony Jaa is Absolutely Exceptional
There isn't the most interesting story. But that doesn't matter one bit when you experience some of the most groundbreakingly breathtaking action sequences ever in martial arts. Wait, in movie history! Tony Jaa trains in Korean martial arts Muay Thai. I have practised a bit myself with a qualified trainer for Muay Thai. But this guy pulls every move off perfectly with unbelievable technique. It is annoying that they used all the effects they did. It can make people curious about the special effects making Jaa out to be even more amazing, which is probably true. Even with all that in mind, in my opinion he's even a better fighter than the legendary Bruce Lee. (Trust me, that's the 1st time I've ever said that about any fighter in any country.) Tony Jaa's elbows are the most deadly strikes I've ever seen in martial arts. He could easily take someone's life with his moves. They call him a Thai warrior. I'd call him the Thai master myself. Whats amazing is that he even topped this in Warrior King. Which was an even better film than this stunner. Forget the other modern martial artists like Chan & Jet Li, this guys the real BIG deal. Although realism fails a lot in this film, it still takes nothing from the sheer entertainment is boasts. I recommend of the highest priority to any martial art fan (Die-hard martial arts fans must get this stunner of a movie).
Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005)
I don't see why It's such a bad movie
Honestly, the overall rating is harsh on this Movie. I actually enjoyed it despite the fact that it was dull, yes. I know plenty of so called 'Dull' Movies/films/documentaries that people still enjoy watching. I mean I'll use 8 Mile and Book of Eli for examples. They are both pretty good films. Not the best, but still decent. I thought the same about Get Rich Or Die Trying' I actually like rap & hip hop stars and I'm a fan of 2Pac, Eminem, & 50 Cent. The film is relentlessly dull and depressing, yes. But people can relate to living in the ghetto like 50 Cent did. Eminem & Tupac (Along with 50 Cent) lived in the gutter to, but are still great talents. 50 Cent loves rap and gangsta. His ambition was to be a gangsta rapper. He turned away from crime to his love for rap. There is a lot of swearing and cursing, but in all honesty. If these situations were real (Some almost parallel to 50 Cent's actual life. For instance, getting shot 9 times & living to tell the tale to this day) People would swear from the sheer hard nut lives they were raised in. What happens to 50 Cents mama & having no father is tragic. And showing how he was really brought up & raised by his grandparents is pretty terrifying. The film feels is pretty realistic and I love realism in a movie. 50 Cent ain't that bad of an actor (He's not the best actor) His talent for rap though in my opinion is over average. I think It's worth watching through at least once. People need to ease up on the negative Reviews. Honestly, It's really not a bad film at all. Go for it!
Made (2001)
Realistic and gritty stuff from Favreau. But not really an off-beat comedy.
It's strange, but when I had finished watching the full 90 minutes of this unusual but decent Movie that it felt like I was watching a gritty drama rather than an off-beat, dark comedy. Vince Vaughn was decent, but never seemed to keep his mouth shut. Constantly harassing people and winding them up with 600 questions per minute. (It felt that much) His acting wasn't bad, but got on my nerves at times. Jon Favreau wasn't bad himself. The film actually opens up like an old Rocky film in a boxing ring with the huge US flag shown dominating the room. It definitely felt more realistic than any Rocky film and the cuts & black eyes looked real. Great job with the face make-up. At times it was almost documentary like as me myself loving realistic movies as I do, it made the film look promising. But the acting wasn't spectacular and I did find that Ricky Slade irritated me with the countless interrogations. Bobby & Ricky are sent on a job by bobby's father, Max, whom doesn't like or trust Bobby's lifelong friend Ricky because of an incident involving a carpet cleaning van. They fly across the states to stay at a luxury hotel. During the plane journey, Ricky constantly harasses a waitress who threatens to get him in deep trouble. They arrive at the hotel and it isn't long till they fight and smash a lamp because Ricky refuses to give Bobby the phone. The film certainly becomes darker and grittier from them on. I did think it was worth the watch, and with it not being a long Movie, I give it a 6.5 out of 10.
Harsh Times (2005)
A gripping and intense film that really hits the raw nerves. It's very gritty and unpredictability makes for a must watch!
A dark urban thrill ride that never lets up. Harsh Times delivers for sure. Mesmerizing performance by Christian Bale. He was unbelievable in this playing as the psychotic Jim Luther Davis. I love the gritty, grainy colours to give it that extra impact. The effects are used at the right times and definitely not overused like most films exceed on these days. The last half an hour or so is pretty excruciating to cope with on an emotional level. Watching Bale suffer at the end actually made you feel sorry for him, despite his ruthless character in the film. It is hard hitting and by no means easy viewing. But It's so compelling that you gotta give it a chance & I promise, for most of you, it won't let you down. Freddy Rodriguez tends to feed off Bale's emotions throughout. He reacts to Bale's anger and pain and feeds off Bale's energy. Although, no offence to Rodriguez, he was OK but Christian Bale was definitely the gem in this one. I've always liked Bale so I will be biased towards him when it comes to acting. But, I seriously believe this is one of his best performances, if not the best one I've ever seen from him. His unpredictability and surge in emotions make his character very exciting and he draws you in the further you go into the film. His character has incredibly sudden mood swings that will shock most viewers and stun them. He is full of energy and really gives everything when he acts and is almost immaculate at doing so. Jim's (Bale's) Mexican girlfriend Marta at the start is concerned about Bale's bad dreams. Much later in the film Bale returns to Mexico and there is a big booze party and he takes his beautiful girlfriend in his car and she tells him that their baby needs milk. Bale tells her to go to a doc to get injections and she refuses. He hallucinates as if he is back in the war zone. Totally drunk & not even aware barely of his surroundings. He threatens to shoot her until his friend manages to get his attention and he let her go. But his rage frightens his friend and Toussant, who soon after tells Jim he needs psychiatric help. Jim Luther Davis was most definitely a very disturbed individual as Bale portrays in this great flick. Be forewarned that there is constant swearing, very disturbing scenes, and constant drug ingestion. Please don't miss this gem, go out and get it! 8.6/10
Pride and Glory (2008)
Great Cop Thriller!
One of my favourite cop drama's has to be Pride & Glory. It has to go down as one of the most entertaining cop thrillers I've ever watched. That's no joke either. I think this is filmed with real power and passion compared to most cop movies. It's really tense & gripping. Utterly compelling to watch at times. It's much tough & grittier than cop films like, say Dirty Harry. Biggest difference between this and Dirty Harry is this is much nastier, darker, tougher, & grittier. It is filmed with much more passion and honesty. Some scenes feel so realistic you'd think you're almost watching a cop documentary of someone's life as a cop, & dream of growing up to be a cop. Colin Farrell (Though I don't like him) gave a stunning performance in this, one of his best if you ask me. Ed Norton gave a blistering performance to. In fact, I'd only rate his performance as racist Nazi American Derek Vinyard higher. He showed to me that he is a great actor, and he can act so well when he gives it his all. The story mostly evolves around finding Angel Tezo, who is the target. The Tierney family which include Ray Tierney, his bro & sister, and her husband Jimmy Egan, along with Tierney Senior. I found the funeral part very gripping to watch, and the confrontations were intense throughout the movie between the cops. There is a lot of profanity which is understandable in a film like this. It is really entertaining and the acting is convincing and powerful. I would definitely encourage people who enjoy anything such as documentaries on cops or other cop thrilling films to buy this. I'm really pleased I bought this, it was well worth the cash. 8/10 is my final rating (Which means excellent). Don't miss this powerhouse of a cop film!
Rise of the Footsoldier (2007)
One of the best British Gangster Films In the Modern Era. Gritty & Entertaining. Not for the Faint of Heart!
Rise of the footsoldier opens up depicting the life of Carlton Leach. A feared gangster throughout south east London. This story shows his rise to power & dominance of being in a feared Gangster crew and the leader of football hooliganism. Ricci Harnet is far more convincing in his acting & performance than his role as Corporal Mitchell in 28 Days Later. Carlton Leach is shown as a very young man at the opening of the Movie. Ricci Harnet does a good job narrating throughout. Although It's narrating is not (In my opinion) on the level of Pesci & De Niro's narrative skills in Casino, or Ray Liotta in Goodfellas. I must forewarn anyone who is keen on watching this that there is an exceptional level of profanity that is uttered at a constant rate. With 390 F-Words (according to celebrityfword.com) and probably nearly 100 C-Words in 114 minutes, I very strongly advise anybody with sensitivity to filthy language to steer well clear of this film. There are torturous and brutal, violent scenes in this movie. An extremely graphic depiction of drugs including cocaine, anabolic steroids, heroine, & ecstasy. There is one extremely graphic rape scene with drugs implied into the scene. There is sexual activity in a car with bare breasts, & brief scenes of sexual intercourse with both a woman & man completely naked. Penetration is shown. Gory, violent scenes include a quite brutal train fight ignited by football hooliganism between West Ham United & Millwall. A man gets an axe in his head and bleeds severely to the point of near loss of consciousness. He is afterwards seen having the large wound stitched up. There is a hooligan riot with bricks, fire, Molotov's, fists & feet all used as weapons. There is a very disturbing scene were a man is literally nailed into the ground from head to toe. Defenceless & unable to move, is left to suffer horribly & die. His blood is transfered onto a wall used as text which Carlton wrote in red "This is what happens to thieves" There is a Land rover murder shown 2-3 times with a lot of blood. Men are injected with poison and vomit, choke, & die from suffocation. And finally a torture scene where men have the teeth physically ripped out with pliers very hard. Bags are smothered over mens heads, this is probably the most intense torture scene in the whole movie. It is very gritty & tense. Julien Gilbey's definitive best directed film by some long way. It's crazy & relentless, shocking & entertaining. Ultimately it is a British Gangster film that is one of the best MOB films I've ever seen come from England. Don't miss it! I give it a HUGE 9/10! Great movie.
The Estate (2011)
Swearing, Violence, Swearing, Violence. That's all I could see & hear... aargh!
The film has more bad language than anything I have ever, EVER seen in my life. My brain was frazzled and my ears were ringing after the amount of F-Bombs dropped in only 89 minutes. (381 to be exact! With many other foul, vulgar expletives, including racist remarks) I've never watched a film were not 1 long, intelligent word was uttered. All the youngsters must have extremely limited vocabularies. Hard to believe that living and growing up in England all my life, that ALL young people cuss, swear, & curse EVERY SINGLE DAY like It's absolutely NOTHING. I heard if you swear in the USA that you can get in pretty deep trouble. I did walk into a shopping mall in Huddersfield and there was a censored sticker literally reading: "No effing & jeffing" Maybe they should be more strict & robust about bad language in this country. There is 1 plus I can take from this film. It's the most realistic British film I've ever seen barring "This Is England" & Gary Oldman's 1997 Movie/Film drama called "Nil By Mouth" There's no plot or story to this film @ all. The camera men were also seriously amateurs. Worst camera work ever. One last thing, give me some earplugs please.
Running Scared (2006)
This movie is as tough as nails and never relents for 1 second! What a film!
Paul Walker is running scared in this exceptionally intense, cop, suspense, crime, horror, action MOB thriller. Paul Walker is ordered to dump a snubnose gun into a river used to kill a dirty cop by accident. Realizing the consequences of his actions, even though it was retaliation in self defense from a group of masked robbers smashing the door in heavily armed with shotguns, Tommy 'Tombs' Parello, who is played by Johnny Messner tells Joey Gazelle (Pual Walker) to get rid of the shiny gun and not to f it up. Paul Walker hides this gun in a sealed bag in his basement. 10 Year old Oleg Yogursky who live next door with his abusive stepfather & stepmother steals this gun and is seen later hiding it in a toilet. Joey & his son Nicky, who is Oleg's best, close friend in the movie go back to get the gun in the toilet. But, to their anxiety, the gun has already been taken by a man named Manny Perez. Joey hunts him down and stealthily gets Manny's house number and breaks in, but no Manny Perez. His wife Conchita & baby child are startled in terror as Joey threatens them @ gunpoint, leaving the baby screaming and Conchita terrified. Joey makes a statement saying that he doesn't wanna hurt Manny, only that he has the gun Joey needs. Joey eventually finds Manny in & his drug snorting friends and violently breaks his middle finger which was stuck up @ him to tell him to go and f himself. They laugh & say his tool left a little while ago. The man who Joey bumped into before interrogating Manny Perez, who was most likely a friend of his took the gun with him. Joey finds him and says "Remember me?" and that he's back to get his gun. Joey burns him alive without realising that it was given to someone else by him. He likes to call himself a mac daddy pimp. He has a feud with Oleg and later on refers to Oleg as a little Charlie Bronson. Joey fails to recover the gun in the end and is shot by the mac daddy and tries to make it home. Almost dying behind the wheel of the car, Joey loses consciousness and is unable to drive so Oleg tries to control the car, yelling "You're gonna crash!" They make it back home but crash into the side of the road near their house. Joey survives, just. In the end it shows a coffin with the US flag. Joey thankful that he wasn't going to have a funeral afterall following his near death experience. It takes a lot of stomach to watch this though. The cursing is extremely strong and the violence is gory and at times, realistic There is an extremely graphic scene in a strip club with lots of exposed breasts & vaginas which should not be watched by young viewers as it is strictly adult material. There is more cursing than a Scorsese Mobster & the back of the DVD warns you of very strong bloody violence. So if you can't withstand violence, you should avoid this. Though, you don't know what you're missing as it is a thrilling, roller-coaster experience that will have you jumping in your seat!
Casino (1995)
Scorsese's most compelling drama
Totally compelling to watch. Robert De Niro at 43 years of age packs his best performance since Goodfellas! I've always admired De Niro as an actor. His narrating, acting, and undeniable talent as an actor is there for all to see. It may not quite be the movie Goodfellas was. But, I'd put it 2nd best in the whole MOB Movie franchise. A strong, ambitious story about a multi-million dollar Casino deep in the lively city of Las Vegas set back in the year 1983. Mr Sam "Ace" Rothstein (De Niro)is given the opportunity of a lifetime to take on the job of running the huge Tangiers Casino, the biggest casino in Las Vegas. He marries the beautiful sexy wildcard "Ginger" McKenna played by the gorgeous Sharon Stone who looks elegantly dazzling. Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) is Ace's bodyguard or "Muscle" if you like. His job is to make sure nobody messes around with the golden jewel. Later on Sam's relationship with Ginger totally disintegrates leaving Sam and their daughter Amy in an out of control situation with the circumstances resulting in the crazed Sharon Stone going on a rampage of madness until she finally gets arrested by an FBI agent and taken to jail. Nicky Santoro also has every FBI agent in the city watching him with great suspicion thinking he (which he was) behind multiple murder plots. The problem was that they always had to let Nicky go because there were never, ever any witnesses or evidence that he murdered these people. Very late on into the Movie near the end, Nicky and his brother (His closest friend) named Dominic are mercilessly & tenaciously beaten down in acres of cornfield around the desert of Las Vegas and buried alive in holes & filled with sand. The scene is excruciating to watch as the beating is realistic and extremely graphic to watch. Nicky's friend Frankie was responsible as he had basically just had enough of Nicky's evil behaviour and finally puts an end to his dominance. Frankie and his murder plot chums use wooden baseball bats and metal crowbars and whack Nick & his brother with them very hard. Seconds after Mr Rothstein faces a NDE as a bomb is planted under his car. Ace survives with minor burns thanks to a device under his seat that saved his life. He is seen on a stretcher being wheeled into an ambulance with the emergency docs saying "You sure are lucky, mister." Everyone should take precaution that this movie isn't for the faint of heart and contains incredibly graphic and realistic torture scenes that should not be watched by people who can't watch bloody scenes. Also there is around 600+ swear words including 430 uses of the infamous F-word including 3 racial slurs which should also be avoided if you dislike profanity. The Acting is absolutely outstanding and spot on though with a great cast, story, and director. Movie Tag: "No one stays at the top forever"
Alpha Dog (2006)
One of my favourite movies, I love it!
I know giving this movie a massive 10/10 is an extremely high rating. But I loved this flick. Despite the fact there are a bit too many mistakes. Playing an Xbox when the movie was supposed to be set in 1999. Playing a 2005 game called: F.E.A.R for 1. Road vehicles that are years in front of this film. But I found the movie entertaining to watch. All the partying made me feel good. Some good occasional laughs & jokes. Despite the ridiculous, overuse of waaaaay too many drugs and ear-aching overuse of obscenities and vulgar language and blasphemy, It's still lots of enjoyment. Beautiful girls, crazy parties, and crude humour. Then, towards the end, drama unfolds, a kidnapped 15 year old gets shot down in cold blood with duct tape on his mouth in an empty, baron landscape in the early hours of the morning while it was still dark, triggered an extremely upset mother, newspaper headlines, and multiple arrests for all involved with his kidnap. The film is also very compelling and realistic. So realistic at times, It's frightening. A man named Jake Mazursky played by Ben Foster rips off Johnny Truelove played by Emile Hirsch in a drug deal. Johnny Truelove snaps at Mazursky causing a bitter, ferocious hatred to build up in Jake. Jake constantly hunts Truelove down like a dog and shouts very loud down the phone, causing Truelove to leg it at the end to avoid arrest and being killed by Jake, who, in his words definitely intended that. At the very last closing seconds @ the end of the film where we see Truelove is being stalked by a professional FBI agent. It is noted that he is arrested at the end & taking into custody, along with all the other suspects involved in the crime. There are also sexual scenes that people should be aware of before watching this. I'm a proud owner of this excellent movie, &, as it says on the back of my beloved DVD. Alpha dog bites hard & doesn't let go!! Enjoy it!
This Is England (2006)
A shocking, and Intense Film About British Racism In the Early 80's
This Is England is a genuinely shocking 97 minute and 20 seconds emotional roller-coaster that gets more & more intense as the film progresses. Set in 1983. (The Margaret Thatcher years) A young, troubled boy is filled with bitterness and rage from the horrific death of his father in the 1982 Falklands War, and wants to, in his own words, make his dad proud. The film is briefly based on the tragedy of the Falklands War, Skinheads in the early 80's, racism, & masculinity. Shaun, is seen early in the film at school feeling lonely & sad, without any friends on a school playground, when he is harassed by a bully named Harvey. Harvey, who knows what happened to Shauns dad at the Falklands, makes some very cruel, insulting remarks about his father. He makes a horrible joke about "How many ppl can u fit in a Mini?" He replies to Shaun saying 2 in the back, 2 in the front, and his dad in the ashtray. Shaun snaps, attacks him. Both fight and curse, until being separated and punished by their headmaster. Shaun bumps into a man named Woody in a tunnel, who feels bad for Shaun. Tries to help him, but the gang insult him with flare comments. Shaun runs off, the gang apologise and recruit Shaun as their new member. Shaun is seen later on dating a much bigger girl than him while he is still a young boy. Everything gets nasty when Combo turns up. Played by Stephen Graham, Combo's character is extremely intense. Filled with bitter and sieving rage. He was just released from prison, and gets back to his old violent ways with the gang. Threatening Pakistani's on the street racially and violently, jumping out of a car in a volatile fit of uncontrollable rage, whipping out machete's and nearly stabbing a helpless shopkeeper, and in the end nearly killing his Jamaican friend Milky with an excruciating beating with hard kicks and punches, smashing a glass bottle on his mates face, leaving Shaun in tears & despair. The closing credits show actual clips I believe from the war. The movie contains around 273 F-Bombs, about 70 racial slurs, and all of their derivatives. Not for the faint of heart!! You have been warned!
Summer of Sam (1999)
A very ambitious film from Spike Lee
Summer of Sam is a gritty, profane crime drama set in the bronx of New York City (NYC) in the sizzling Summer of 1977. A bunch of Italian Americans with lots of free time who smoke cannabis and drug deal heroin and cocaine with foul mouths who dance and cause violent mischief, and have huge amounts of distrust for one another. Panic hits the streets of NYC with a psychotic serial killer on the loose who calls himself 'The Son of Sam' is on a killing spree causing frantic anxiety to all in NY's neighbourhoods. Vinny (John Leguizamo) is an arrogant man with a rude attitude and a beautiful wife named Diona. Vinny is seen throughout most of the film with his so called gang of buddies who are constantly arguing and fighting each other. Ritchie (Adrien Brody) is a brash & cocky young man with a fake British accent who loves rock and huge British band known as 'The Who' Ritchie and Vinnie's relationship becomes very edgy as the film progresses. Ritchie wants nothing to do with Vinny after Vinny assumes him being the serial killer Son of Sam, even though he said he wasn't gonna call the cops. The gang later on persuade Vinny to go to Ritchies to lure him into a violent and bloody kicking from the gang who falsely accuse him of being the killer after the killer had been caught on TV revealing to the cops he is 'The Son of Sam' The film is 2hrs & 16mins long with 476 F-words and constant drug taking and smoking. It is rightly rated 18 because of the sexual nature of the film and the mature themes. Certainly not suitable for children even though they watch adult films nowadays.
Nil by Mouth (1997)
One of the Most Realistic Movies You'll Ever Watch
Gary Oldman's, Nil by Mouth (1997) is a gritty, dark, bleak and powerful movie with constant extremely strong language and unprecedented realism. The Movie nails 522 F-words (The most from any official motion picture film) The documentary on the F-word isn't classed as an official movie. And has more C-words than any other film with at least 82 (Maybe up to a hundred) So I strongly suggest AVOIDING this if you can't stand bad language and all emotional viewers should steer clear as the film can be tough to watch at times. The positives are huge though, which is why I rated this film (My 1st official IMDb Review) as a whopping 10/10. The acting is so believable and convincing. It makes you feel like you are watching a documentary somehow with that amazing realism in the atmosphere. It's so gripping to watch and will leave you in shock after watching thinking WOW! What a film. It has that impact. The film received 2 Bafta's and deserves It's awards because It's a corker. Gary Oldman: Excellent actor, writer & director. Ray Winstone's best performance (IMO) in any film by a long shot. And Kathy Burke was exceptional along with him. A real gem masterpiece. Take my word for it and watch it!
