Man vs Bee (2022)
I Forgot How Much I Love Rowan
He had me howling in laughter at my TV last night. I binged the whole season; easy-bite little episodes. He has smaller bits of physical humor that cracked me up, and then his more explosive bits were equally as affecting.
Even at 65 or 66, he is absolutely hysterical. So many callbacks, whether intentional or unintentional, to Mr. Bean or Johnny English jokes. I am SO happy this now exists. Rowan Atkinson showing us how it's done, reclaiming his spotlight and throne!
American Beauty (1999)
The title says it all...
I've had trouble writing this review, but now after watching this movie 4 times...I can finally say what I want to say about it. I've read the negative reviews about this film and they utterly blow my mind because this film is such a flawless film. Everything about it is perfect: the acting, the delivery of the lines, the story, pacing, cinematography, soundtrack, editing, directing. All of it. Kevin Spacey was absolutely not acting for the audience, he was showing us how much subtle emotion goes a long way when acting. His character is so relatable and so genuine that you automatically root for him. I personally can't see how anyone can dislike this film, it is so spiritual for me and so realistic. Even the subtitle of this film is "...look closer" meaning "look closer and see the rancid roots of the so called 'perfect' suburban families". This film is absolutely, positively beautiful and stunning throughout; I have no complaints about this film and I could never stop watching it because it'll never get old to me. There are very few films that I could watch over and over and over again, and this is one of them. Watch this movie and please pay attention to the meaning behind it....you have to understand the subtext and appreciate the films purpose.
Sherlock Holmes (2009)
Incredibly Amazing Movie
I was looking forward to this movie for so long and when I finally got to see it, I was so amazed by it!!!! After watching this movie several times, I finally noticed that Robert Downey Jr. does an English accent.....I didn't notice at first because his acting is just so natural for this part!!!! The acting is incredible, and the action/choreography is unbelievable!!!! I'm not a fan of Jude Law, but I love him in this movie. Rachel McAdams is also a beautiful actress who does an amazing job at being so deceitful, but yet lovable. Now, this is the first movie I had ever seen Mark Strong in....and he gained my respect!!! Mark Strong is such an amazing actor, and for a while I was convinced he was Andy Garcia's brother. lol. But anyways, all the actors did a fantastic job in this movie and an even better job in the 2nd Sherlock Holmes movie. If you haven't seen this movie for some reason, you need to watch it soon!!!
Platoon (1986)
I detest some of the acts, but love the movie
This movie is on the top of my list of favorite movies ever. My mom even hates war films, but loves this movie! Even though I detest some of the actors, such as Charlie Sheen, Keith David, Kevin Dillon, and Tom Berenger....I still love this movie because it depicts the Vietnam war. We Were Soldiers and Platoon are my two favorite Vietnam war films because of the gruesome action and it makes me have very high respect for war veterans. Oliver Stone did a fantastic job on showing the terrors of war and how it can drive people literally insane. As it the subtitle says "The first casualty of war is innocence", which I find shocking...but it is very true. If you haven't seen this movie, it is a must-see and don't listen to all those Platoon haters, they must not have respect for the war veterans....because this movie shows exactly what they had to go through in the battles. I always watch this movie on memorial day....its truly amazing.
Radio (2003)
Purely amazing movie
This movie made me cry so hard. Cuba Gooding Jr. delivers one of the most memorable performances in Hollywood history, while Ed Harris also plays a very caring coach who pities Radio. This movie is based on a wonderful true story of an autistic young black man who has a hobby of walking his shopping cart all around town observing the life that goes on around him. He is picked on by a high-school football team while walking past their practice one day and is rescued by the football coach, Ed Harris. This whole movie is sad and frustrating in some parts, but very heart-warming and funny in the end. Coach Jones (Ed Harris) makes Radio (Cuba Gooding Jr.) his assistant coach for the football team, and the player finally come to accept him and love him for who he is. This movie is all around amazing and should be on your bucket list, if you have not seen it yet.
The Fourth Kind (2009)
Worst Movie Ever!!!!!
This is one of the worst movies ever made! First of all, I hate Milla....she's the ugliest and worst actress I've ever watched on screen. This movie is incredibly stupid and there is absolutely no way its based on true events! I watched this movie with my friends in the theaters for my birthday and totally regretted it. I walked out of this movie never wanting to watch a movie with Milla ever again because of how bad she was in this. She even ruined Three Musketeers for me! Never watch this movie, don't waste your time....you'll miss out on life. Its so stupid and there are so many better movies out there. Worst acting, worse ending, just all in all...worst movie ever made.
Good Will Hunting (1997)
Pure Genius
I'm not a fan of the bad language, but I love this movie. The acting is so great!! Robin Williams is a hilarious comedian, but also is one of the greatest actors I have ever watched. He delivers such a great role in this, and his long monologue at the park is so moving. I memorized Robin's Williams park monologue and filmed myself saying it because its so good. Matt Damon also did an incredible job in this movie, he played such a jerk of a person, but later on you were able to understand more of why he was such a jerk. I have seen this movie 5 times and I love it the same every time I watch it!!!! The is a great movie and worth the watch only if you are not offended by such bad language. The bad language is a huge turn-off to watch movies like this, which sucks. But this is a great movie and well-deserved those Oscars.
The Avengers (2012)
One of The Best Movies Ever Made
I wish I could rate this movie 100 out of 100!!!! I have seen this movie twice in the theaters and its amazing!!!! It made me yell because the action was amazing, and it made me burst out laughing in several parts!!!! Lets just say I was very vocal during this movie. The acting is so perfect and the plot was also amazing. The action was unbelievable and the effects were outstanding!!!! I love this movie and have high respect for everyone involved in the making. The Incredible Hulk was portrayed exactly as he should be, just pure rage and outbursts of anger. The Iron Man was super funny and really cool too, as always. Captain America isn't my favorite, he's kind of lame. Hawkeye is also very cool, but I wish he had an actual superpower, like agility or something. Black Widow is awesome, but she wasn't used to her fullest abilities in this movie. Thor is also very cool, but should have been used a little more in this movie. I wish Thor would have taken down one of the huge monster things on his own, he's fully capable of it. All in all, this movie is a must-see amazing movie.
Taken (2008)
Incredible Movie ***SPOILERS***
I have seen this movie 4 times, I own it, and its amazing. This movie never gets old. The acting is so amazing, the plot is so intense, and the action is so incredible. I love Liam Neeson, I thought that he did an incredible job in this movie, and even though he's getting up there in age, he still knows how to fight!!! I enjoy this movie more than the Bourne series or even the Bond series, because of its intensity. The only thing I thought was lame is that when Liam saves his daughter in the end, the daughter is fine and dandy when they return home and Liam has no consequences from killing so many people. If the girl went through being addicted to drugs and sex trafficking, she would be changed for life. She would become a depressed and disturbed girl and not some happy, joyous daddy's girl. But other than that, the movie is incredible and definitely worth watching. I can't wait for Taken 2, coming out soon. It is going to be just as intense and great as the first film!!!
Due Date (2010)
One of my favorite movies ever
This movie is one of the best comedies ever, because the acting is so great and the plot is fantastic. It makes you feel so bad for Peter, because Ethan is such a screw up. I watched Plains, Trains, and Automobiles and thought it was stupid compared to this movie. I love how it portrays enough of Ethan so that it shows what an immature character he is, but it doesn't show too much of him. Ethan is not an annoying character to watch, he is an enjoyable character to watch. Zach Galifinakis did an incredible job in playing this character. Robert Downey Jr. is also an amazing actor and did an amazing job at playing Peter. I have watched this movie 5 times and I have always gotten the sense that Robert Downey Jr. hated being in this movie, which isn't at all true. He just did an amazing and convincing job as this character. Robert Downey Jr. has said this movie is one of the most enjoyable acting experiences of his career. I have so much respect for this movie and I think its great.
