13 Geboden (2017–2018)

Do not understand the reviews calling this "boring"! It's very gripping!

Just finished the series and absolutely loved it. In fact, it is 3.30am right now because I just had to finish the series tonight. There are several twists that I really didn't see coming, and the show really takes you on a journey with Moses and even makes you stop and reconsider your own views. The character development is subtle but definitely there and the main cast is excellent, especially the male and female lead. It is a slower paced show like many of these foreign crime shows, but that doesn't mean boring. It is quite gripping and tells the story well. Great story characters and cast!

Les témoins (2014– )

Season 1: EXCELLENT Season 2: OKAY Season 3: HOPEFULLY!

Season 1 is excellent. The story is gripping, the balance between seeing the personal lives and the actual crime was good and the relationship between the main characters was great to see develop, as well as the rest of the cast. I was actually more interested in Sandra's backstory than anything else and wish it got more explanation (mainly the obsessive cleaning..I feel like it demonstrated more than just the fact that she liked order! Unless I missed something?). The story came together nicely with a bittersweet end.

Season 2 started well, but it went a bit downhill. I did not like that Sandra spent a lot of the episodes outside of her team and the police and wish it had been all set with the team like Season 1. I think there was too much of her going off on her own and committing crimes. I like when shows make the character obsessed with finding the truth, but not when it takes them away from their team and job this much.

I would still very much like a season 3 and I am hoping this is the case. While Season 2 wasn't as good as Season 1, it would still a fine season and I would like Sandra's character explored more in another season!

The intro to the show is excellent..creepy and enchanting. I love it.

Doom Patrol (2019–2023)

Absolutely Outstanding - Weird, Wonderful and Moving!

Many TV shows and Movies have previously tried to be completely "bizarre" and failed enormously, but not this show. Their weirdness works so well. it doesn't feel forced but is still incredibly weird. The humour is hilarious, and each character stands out incredibly - there is no weak link in either character or actor. It is also incredibly moving at times, how it manages to be so emotional and weird and funny at the same time is beyond me, but it is done so well. I have never cared much for DC and watched this on a whim, and I was enthralled. The stories are engaging and the characters/actor are all phenomenal. I must give a specific shout out to Diane Guerrero as "Crazy Jane". She switches flawlessly between the different "people" - it's phenomenal. Highly, highly recommend this show. Only 11 episodes in and I'm already so attached to these misfits and their stories, I hope it has many more seasons.

Code 37 (2009–2012)

Totally disagree with the poor review(s)

This is an excellent show and Veerle Baetens is excellent in the role (also watch ehr in The Team and Tabula Rasa - different roles, but she's also excellent) I have to wonder if the reviewer who commented on her poor acting has a personal vendetta against her - as they take several personal swipes at the actress herself in the review. The review said she constantly screams, but she rarely screams in the show and is quite calm a lot of the time (I sometimes think too calm!), so again, I wonder if the negative reviewer has even seen the show?

I find the cases interesting and the acting great, the rapport between the team eventually becomes enjoyable too..Bob is intolerable for most of season 1 though, namely the first half. Someone that sexist should not work in sex crimes in real life, but this is just fictional. Sometimes I think they let his behaviour slide too easily, especially for a sex crimes show (such as his degrading jokes and taking a naked photo of his boss and spreading it in poster form telling men to call for sex). But overall, it's a great show with interesting characters and decent storylines. Highly recommend.

Do not listen to the reviews, watch for yourself and decide! It's a very decent police procedural show.

Downsizing (2017)

This could be the worst movie I have ever seen. Definitely the worst movie of 2017.

The trailer makes it appear to be a quirky comedy and tiny people who have been downsized, but it is not. The first 30 minutes or so where they focus on the actual downsizing and what comes with that are good, but then it soon forgets this concept completely and veers off into several nonsensical other plots. Matt Damon was incredible boring. The other acting was fine, but the movie was terrible. Save yourself the money. Such a great concept, and they screwed it up. So disappointing.

The Neighbors (2012–2014)

Excellent, hilarious refreshing comedy.

One of the best and funniest comedies I have ever watched. Excellent acting by everyone, the cast is such a great one and they really work well together on the screen. This series has such funny compelling stories and one liners. very underrated comedy. It is so refreshing and different to your stereotypical comedies which have been on our screen the past few years and I hope it gains many more fans and can continue for a very long time. I especially love the many references to pop culture and the many references to the fact that it is a TV show (such as the theme tune ending with "we'll be done in thirty minutes." The premise for the show sounds like the show won't work, but give it a chance and you will fall in love! I am so hoping for a series 3 as there are so many more stories and characters to explore.
