Dwitiyo Purush (2020)
Twist that baffles
The story is quite mesmerizing in the context of the city. However, it was too dense at the end.
I feel the useless romantic part take away the greatness of the plot by stealing screentime
Chotushkone (2014)
One of the finest Indian Thriller in decades
It is still the best from Srijit, better than Baishe Sharbon.
Intriguing plot, outstandingly presented through breathtaking storytelling.
Worthy of multiple viewing!!
Vinci Da (2019)
Overrated garbage
Srijit is a top director with outstanding track record but this time he completely wasted talented actors like Ritwick and Rudranil.
The main idea is not fresh and screenplay is odd. The best part for me was Riddhi's part, he is a true gem.
Dhaka Metro (2019)
Strong cast but weak slow-paced plot
The series has top actors like Aupee Karim and Neville but failed to create the magic that will keep you watching.
The pace is a big problem. In many occasions, there are hints of some interesting is beginning but then it quickly desolved into monotony.
I found this plot completely unbelievable in the setting of Bangladesh. Try to create this situation in real life and then the writer will understand how baseless is this.
Disappointing!!
Extraction (2020)
Awful Indian fantasy of Dhaka
The film shows a rather shemale gang lord(?) controlling both police force and military in Dhaka.
How absurd!!
It seems they tried hard to fit the story of Paraguayan/Colombian drug war into Dhaka but end up creating botched thriller in Somalia like environment.
Complete waste of some fine actors with clear "Hindi" accent and imaginary child soldiers.
The thriller missed a crucial aspect of Dhaka street people, "any foreigner will attract significant watcher/follower" so it is impossible to hide for them in old Dhaka.
In reality, gangs of Dhaka had some gruesome real-life killers, like one who used hammer to kill victims and another who played football with severed of his victim in a college field.
It seems the team "Extraction" had no clue about either Dhaka underworld or the city.
Ekattor (2020)
Wasted opportunity
The plot is weak and most of the promising characters failed to develop Old Dhaka saw initial civilian confrontation lead by local youth (many of them known as Gunda's then) and some of them are still alive like actor Faruq. This series seems to miss the vibe of that time completely.
About acting,
Tisha: sublime as usual in her weak character
Mustafa: believable and honest try
Iresh: a very dull performance, most of the time looked like a stupid not
an cunning intelligence officer
Mithila: overacting was evident but may she tried to get something out of it
Dhaka gang war was mostly with knives not guns.
