Maggie (2022)
Called this "vanilla" would imply some flavor
This show is bland. All the acting is bland, the jokes are bland, the plot is bland, the "twists" are bland. If it was an ice cream flavor, it would be ice.
Cinderella (2021)
Boring money grab
Taking a known story, a bunch of popular songs, and a bunch of well known actors and throwing them in a movie with a garbage script is is about as money grabby as you can get. Nothing worked in this film. They tried to be original which just came off as desperate. The acting was boring. The actors were trying. Failing, but trying. I give them credit for that. Otherwise the movie was absolute trash.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
For a moment I thought it might be good
Nothing about this movie makes sense. Rules are established for no reason and broken just as easily. The movie is set in 1984 for absolutely no reason. It actually ends up being non-canonical because they completely forgot they were supposed to be keeping WW a secret halfway through the movie. Just like the first movie, this movie ends in CGI nonsense. The longer I think about this movie the more I have to ask "but why?" about every plot point in this movie. And saying that there was a plot in this movie is being generous.
Assassination Nation (2018)
Couldn't finish this garbage
I stopped watching this movie a little over an hour in. The previews make it seem like the Purge or Battle Royale but at an hour in, the action still hadn't started. It would be forgivable if this movie wasn't trying so hard to be edgy and didn't have such a terrible script. Every bit of this movie is executed poorly. The worst part of this movie is that it has almost constant narration. There was so much potential to show the storyline playing out but the movie just decided to have the narrator boringly explain it.
Artemis Fowl (2020)
Did anyone even read the book?
This movie seems like it was written by someone who read the Wikipedia for this book series but never actually picked up the books. When making a movie based on a book, there are liberties that have to be taken because some things can't translate from the book and some effects (like the size of the fairies) are a hard to produce without costly CGI. However this movie doesn't seem to care about using CGI, and even uses it effectively but uses it in all the wrong places. The biggest issue with this movie is not the complete changing of story line but the betrayal of every single character's base traits for what appears to be no real reason. If you never read the books, this movie is passable, but if you're a fan of the series, prepared to see a torpedoing of all your beloved characters.
