Wet (2009)
Could be really good
I am a huge Bethesda Softworks fan and will buy anything that they have put their name on. Hence how I came about this game. The only thing I knew about this game was from watching an online trailer and was excited as hell to play this. After just finishing a rather long in depth game I looked forward to just running around shooting and blowing things up.
First I must say I love the look and style of this game but within moments of playing I was so utterly frustrated with the controls of the character (actually lack of)I wanted to throw the damn controller across the room. Whatever fun and excitement I had while playing was quickly lost trying to do simple movements. I have never had a game create such rage and frustration.
Due to a huge character flaw within myself, I couldn't simply just stop playing and be done with it. I have to finish what I started so my level of frustration after finishing the game was so high I had to take a gaming break.
There were some really fun points to this game and think that it shouldn't be ignored. It definitely isn't worth the full price but if you find it at a discount like I did it is worth the money. Some people might not find the controls as difficult as I did but after reading a few reviews most people found the controls a problems.
Conan (1997)
Should give it a chance
After seeing Ralf Moeller in Gladiator I ever so wanted to see him as Conan. As much to my surprise I completely enjoyed his take on the character.
I went into this series with very little expectations, I didn't set my hopes to high so I wouldn't be let down. I must say I was very disappointed with the way the series started with less then quality script writing and lack of funding, but I always like to give a series a chance to develop, let the actors get comfortable with their characters and allow the writers to develop better stories and I am sure glad I did.
You won't find high quality fight scenes, big budget sets, or award winning scores but they give you a very enjoyable show to watch as long as you continue to watch it.
Ralf Moeller and Danny Woodburn give you such likable characters you have to tip your hat to them, as well as TJ Storm and Robert McRay.
I am sad to see that the series didn't continue and wasn't given a chance to grow. I think if the show was supported with better funding that this show could have had a better following and turned into something quite exceptional. As it is though the show is very enjoyable and worth the time.
