The Good Nurse (2022)
Not slow, not boring. Riveting!
Everything doesn't have to be action-packed and full of chases and explosions to be intense. "The Good Nurse" is a movie that leads the viewer down a treacherous, evil path. At the same time we see a woman so compassionate, so brave, so honest and smart, she is the hero of this movie. Jessica Chastain"s performance is spectacular. The story also points out the extremely disturbing practice of hospitals not confronting serious behavior problems, instead shuffling the problems from one hospital to the next with no trail left behind for potential employers to access when making hiring decisions. A national database, versus state by state, might have limited the extent of this tragedy.
Every Single Someone (2021)
Just watch the evening news.
If you haven't had enough murders, animal cruelty, murder for hire and senseless death, you can get your fill on this pointless film that tries to be arty but is just miserable. Forget acting, cinematography or plot. It's just butchery made to look like catharsis.
Horror in the High Desert (2021)
If you've seen The Blair Witch Project...
If you've seen The Blair Witch Project you don't need to see this. There are so many meaningless details thrown in as red herrings. By the last 15 minutes I was struggling to stay awake. The trains and animals were nice to watch.
The First Lady (2022)
Viola is sucking lemons?
I agree, Michelle Pfeiffer is wonderful. Gillian Anderson is a cardboard cutout, so stiff, so.ridiculous, no one could ever, ever mistake her as Eleanor Roosevelt, mainly because Mrs. Roosevelt was human and Anderson plays her as an unsmiling, cold as ice, muckle mouthed caricature. And Viola, was she directed to turn Michelle into a joke? By the last episode I honestly couldn't look at her. This was a very good idea but 2/3 of it were so badly acted, poor Michelle hardly had a chance.
I Know This Much Is True (2020)
Wrenching. So very good.
Seldom seen such a heartbreaking story, almost painful to watch because it's so realistic. Mark Ruffalo in a role that was written for him. Exceptional.
