Masters of the Universe: Revolution (2024)
Great show, loved the nostalgia.
Have to say after the poor 2nd season I was skeptical about how this one would be, but after finishing it all it's a definite improvement. Loved all the little Easter eggs throughout from other series & movies, and seeing some of more of my favorite characters good and bad was a great nostalgia hit. Looking forward to seeing where the next season takes the story as bringing in Hordak opens up a great opportunity, the only thing I though took the shine away from the show was it got political at the end. Even my 13 year old questioned why it took a political turn, he also said he was gutted Skeletor keeps losing.
Ghosts (2019)
Fantastic show
Absolutely brilliant show, the humor of Horrible Histories with some of the best characters on TV. I only started watching this when season 5 was announced and was couldn't believe that I hadn't given it a chance earlier, each episode is brilliantly written and each character gets their chance to shine. They are such good characters that you feel emotion for them as they tell you their life stories, I'd definitely say it's one of the best series the BBC has ever done. Just hoping that there's another season as I feel the six episodes in each haven't been enough, hard to pick a favourite character but Pat is definitely up there. Highly recommend giving it a watch.
The Flash (2023)
Wish I could go back and remake that one for them
The story was good but the poor CGI and the babies scene ruined the movie, Keaton coming back as Batman was the saving grace.
DC have tried to be like Marvel adding comedy with this one but it doesn't work, especially the Batman/Wonder Woman scene.
I can see why the part with the multiverse Supers and Batman rubbed people up the wrong way, if you're going to do something like that make sure it looks amazing.
Not the worst DC film I've watched but it's close.
Will be interesting to see what the Gunn reboot brings to the table as the DC films definitely need a shake up in their current state.
Stranger Things (2016)
One of the greatest TV shows ever
What an amazing show this is, the way the story and characters have developed over the four seasons has been fantastic. Been a long time since I have been so emotionally invested in a show, the last season has been outstanding, so much so that other big series released at the same time have been well overshadowed.
The Tourist (2022)
Ok if nothing better to do
Started out really good and looked to be an exciting story but then pace slowed and I couldn't tell whether it's meant to be serious drama or a dark comedy and not particularly good at either, anyway give it a watch if nothing better to do but don't expect to be blown away.
Uncle (2012)
Great series
Can't believe I've only just discovered this gem, brilliant casting and characters, really funny and some of the songs are great.
Highly recommend giving it a watch.
Tenet (2020)
Great mind bending movie
Great movie, Christopher Nolan really knows how to blow your mind with a great story and throwing in science you won't understand but you don't mind.
Some of the scenes are amazing and you just wonder how they've put it together.
A movie well worth a trip to the cinema for.
Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)
Not excellent but not totally bogus either
Bill and Ted's latest journey wasn't their greatest but it's hard to recapture the excellence of the first two movies, some funny bits and good to see some of the characters back but only gets a 6.5/10 from me.
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Amazing
Quite possibly one of the best feel good films ever made, right from the beginning intro this film has you captured. The visuals are fantastic and the soundtrack will have you singing it for days after you see the film.
I have seen a lot of negative comments about the story but having not known anything about P.T. Barnum before the movie I thought the story gave you all the basics and kept you entertained until the next song.
I would definitely recommend seeing this movie at the cinema if you get the chance as those songs with that sound system absolutely blows you away.
