Noah (2014)
Bible loving Christians will hate it!
Well this was a painful experience. Honestly, before, I was looking forward on seeing something like this because I am one of those people who appreciate good historical narrative. The story of the flood is historical narrative and it should be treated this way.
Director decided to change this, and out of all that this story really is all about, left the water and a boat. Everything else is horribly wrong.
It is apparent that people behind this project had nothing to do with theology, but still decided to tackle theological sphere. Those rocky things called the fallen are good spirits-angels that wanted to help humanity but God cursed them??? WHAT!?!?!!! Are you serious? What does this say about God??? Do you see where I'm going with this? God is depicted as lunatic!
Dear director, if you hated the story so much why did you take it in the first place and ruined the truth of the bible just to make what it really is not?
However, there is one thing I learned from this experience. Don't get your hopes up, anything Biblical will be used to depict God as egotistical maniac and His servants as schizophrenic idiots, just for the sake of defending humanistic and socially acceptable view of God.
This is exactly what this movie accomplished.
Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
Disappointing
It was a nice idea to redo Exodus using new effects. And as I my self am a special effect person, this is something that I expected, but this movie failed horribly. The thing that I always wondered is, why do big producers and directors even want to grasp this kind of monumental project if they do not care what the source has to say about the subject. It was the same with Noah. Why, why, why, would you do that. Name your movie by amazing story from the Bible and then completely neglect written testament of this event. By the way, Moses was according to the Biblical writings, the meekest of all the people alive. He was all but arrogant, as he was portrayed in this movie. My advice to all of those who appreciate good special effects, avoid this movie at all cost. It just ain't worth it.
Anaconda: Offspring (2008)
God, not again...
I don't get it, why would anyone pay to see this? David Hasselhoff is by far washed up character and after "Baywatch" there is not much to expect from him. The thing that bugs me the most with all Anaconda sequels is that the snake is all together badly described. Why? Well anyone who watched at least one documentary episode about these animals, knows how these beasts behave, and aside of the third part where these animals are DNA tampered with, not one have a good excuse for that kind of behavior. Mainly the way they move, sound and look. And than...things go from bad to worse, dude gets pierced through his chest with the snakes tail and they try to do CPR on him. Shoot me for giving this movie a try, thank God for not paying for it.
