History of the World: Part II: I (2023)
Season 1, Episode 1

Disappointing.
8 March 2023
I loved the REAL History Of The World. It was great. It was well written subtle and memorable. The cast from that movie were all at the top of their game. I watched it about a months ago.

I just saw this "original" series. I don't even chuckle one time.

The jokes were flat. The timing was off. And all the references to modem culture were just awkward.

Unnecessary swearing trying to be "relevant". You can tell by the fact that this is a very poorly executed sequel that Hulu is owned by Disney.

This is not worth the time it takes to watch it.

Apparently now IMDB requires 600 characters ( to protect one of their IPs) So just don't watch this.

At first I thought it might be a satire.
2 November 2022
When I first started watching this I thought it was a mocumentary. However it lacked honesty and humor. So obviously not a Babylon Bee production.

What it is a a lackluster attempt to explain away two years of incompetence.

Anyone who is not absolutely partisan knows what has happens to the United States of America and throughout the world over the past two years and knows this was a failed attempt to put the proverbial " lipstick on a pig" This is neither funny nor good satire and of course the HBO would waste money on this.

Someone should tell them their "golden boy" Bill Marr will not even defend the actions of this administration.

interesting conundrum
11 July 2022
This movie poses an interesting conundrum.

What happens when you have an almost 2 hour movie and can't stand either the antagonists or protagonists?

A handful of 20somethings, supposedly hip and urbane. Actually annoying and two dimensional go hiking. They insult the locals, you know because flyovers are always hicks in these movies, and are totally unprepared for hiking the trails they are on.

The "Foundation" or whatever starts picking them off one by one.

Blah blah. Film student writes what they think small towns are like from watching horror movies made in the 80s.

Pass this one.

Meh
2 July 2022
This was so inane it was almost physically painful. Contrived and predictable. It's like they just followed a step by step guide to making an action movie but put no spirit or creative thought into it.

It would be funny if not tragic
25 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
1: I'm glad the lawyers gave the interviewer questions to ask totally uncritically.

2: it's amazing how insincere the subject comes off. I'm not trying to protect myself ( but he is).

3: He emotes better with other writers.

4:He says he never pulled the trigger but has used and (should) know about them from his movies.

Conclusion. A shill helping a generally unlikable person cover up his negligence.

I put more effort into a two paragraph review than they writing this movie.
1 December 2021
The 2005(?) Doom is a guilty pleasure of mine so I finally decided to watch this. Well actually, I waited until we visited in-law's to use their Netflix.

I'm glad I didn't pay for Netflix for this.

It was...wow! Bad.

The writing wasn't just lazy it was bad.

Just one example: the Chaplin: who is by all rights a tertiary character has a more complete character arc than the two main protagonists and the "arch" villain.

To year this apart more would require more effort than I'm willing to exert for this dumpster fire of a SciFy channel rip off.

Racism on display
23 September 2021
Watched this movie because I heard about it in news. I thought "how bad can it be?" This movie puts on display true racism. Not of the "characters". But of the writer, director, producer and stars of this hate on film.

It's depressing not in what happens on screen- which is formulaic at best. But in the glimpse it gives into the roiling hate the entertainment industry has for a large part of the population.

Marvel's attempt at Rick-n-Morty
25 May 2021
This has the vibe of wanting to be Rick-n-Morty.

Not as edgy. Not as funny. So bland I couldn't get through the first episode even though I tried three times.

My husband and I watched this because it was suggested by Netflix.

Thanks Netflix. This and Cuties are why we are moving to Disney+ & Hulu.

This person has some serious issues with the creature.

My husband just kept saying things like "what the F@@k" and this dude has serious problems.

Do not watch this.

This guy makes Timothy Treadwell look totally sane and rational.

Who couldn't love this
12 April 2021
Giant Radioactive Dinosaur Vs Giant Monkey. If that's all you want it's awesome. And it's a great put your brain in neutral and watch a big lizard and big monkey beat the crap out of each other.

However. The human "characters" drag the movie down from an 8.5 to a 7. Theyre one dimensional and downright annoying.

Hey WB hire writers to write decent characters.

This was a comedy right?
7 January 2021
You can read the premise. It has potential. However the writing is trite. Characters are one dimensional. The comedic timing is off. There were no good jokes. Watched first two episodes. Won't watch a third.

Why she lost.
6 March 2020
I went into this with an open mind. I like documentaries, even if I don't always agree with the conclusions the film makers want you to come up with. The premise: Hillary Clinton was highly qualified to be president. Millions disagreed. I would assume this is a addition to her book. Even with the well done cutting and framing the main character was still one dimensional and seemed contrived. If you voted for Hillary, this will vindicate you. If you voted for Trump you can watch and relish. A better idea: skip this and go talk to your friends and family.

Pleasant Surprise.
17 February 2020
I went into this movie expecting the normal sequel. You know, either a retread of the first or more inferior than the first. This was neither. I felt it was just as strong as the first. Expanding the old characters and adding new ones. What impressed me though was Kevin Hart and Duane Johnson being able to do the cadence of old men. They showed much more acting depth than I expected from them. All in all a very enjoyable sequel.

I remember seeing the original in theaters. Several times. I went to see this in the theater. Watched again on video. Visually it's stunning and worth a watch. After you see it once you will have no desire to watch it again.

Ok. What caught me was the title. However watching it was fun. The characters were good. The story was over the top. A fun waste of time.

A spoof for those who grew up with the original trilogy
12 February 2020
For those who saw the original trilogy in the theaters this is the spoof for you. Lone Star: Han, Princess Vespa: Leia. You can figure out the rest. Besides a great spoof. Lots of hilarious jokes they can't / won't make in the current hyper woke unfunny Hollywood. If you want a great spoof without the PC this is for you.

Forgettable.
15 January 2020
Mediocre. This is one of those movies you put on while you are doing something. Cleaning dishes, misc housework or playing a game. You do not need to follow the plot. You will not get emotionally invested. It's there for noise nothing more.

Over an hour of a narcissistic woman - child telling you how her problems " being true to myself." More like a slow train wreck of a self absorbed child. Don't waste your time watch another documentary.

Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to like this, I really did. I love Futurama. I watch it almost every day. So when this was announced I was really excited. I watch all first season wanting to like this. It just doesn't have the lightning in a bottle like Futurama did. The demon is a shadow of Bender. The princess is a Leela shell. And the elf thing is Fry. I can't even remember character names it's that forgettable.

Hilariously gory
3 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Started this with low expectations and ended up watching it 2 more times since then. Wonderfully gory practical effect. The death scenes are actually bizarrely inspired. The umbrella death was perfect. Plus anytime you see a Pieta homage in a slasher flick you are gold.
