Scary Movie 4 (2006)

Still got the jokes...!
13 April 2006
I went into this film a little hesitantly...How can there possibly be a fourth Scary Movie that still keeps its humour? Well, it was (half) possible. Although the overall structure isn't as tight as the other three, the jokes are often still 'fresh' and there's a lot of slapstick, which, although predictable, is still funny! Anna Faris (Cindi), as always, is still on top form, as is Regina Hall (Brenda) and together, they deliver some fantastic comedy.

If you're looking for a new, original comedy, perhaps this isn't for you. However, if you're a fan of Scary Movie 1, 2 and 3, then how could you boycott this one?! Go for it, even if it's only 80 minutes for a laff and a haff!

Priceless!

A typical Coen movie - plot intertwined with sub-plot intertwined with another sub-plot intertwined with seemingly genuine and lovable characters (as well as 'love-to-hate' characters). What's not to love about the Dude? I aspire to be more like him everyday, and even if that's the only thing you take away from this film, it would be well worth it. This guy introduced me to 'White Russian' ('Caucasian') cocktails - vodka, Kahlua and cream. Try to keep up with the plot, learn to love Donnie but overall, enjoy the laid back humour and classic 'one liners' that you'll be repeating over and over...and over..and over again!

Not half bad!

Was quite impressed by this well wrapped up sickly twisted plot - I was a little apprehensive of 'Saw' at first, what with all the comparisons to 'Se7en' but hey, although not the most original idea, it left me feeling cold, a bit confused and ever so slightly nauseous and let's face it, what's in a film if it can't do any of the above? The acting and characterisation is debatable, especially that of Dr.Gordon's, but this is totally overlooked by the gore, sub-plots and suspense as the audience is led through a series of mind games and deceptions. Got an hour or so to spare? Well worth a look...but not on your own...You have been warned.
