Secrets of Playboy (2022–2023)
6/10
Shocking but not Surprising.
9 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched every episode of TGND. Holly Madison certainly didn't seem trapped or miserable. I wonder why she is choosing to speak out 14 years after leaving the mansion? I do believe most of what was in the documentary however i always believe there is 2 sides to every story and unfortunately Hugh Hefner isn't here to tell his side. I don't think anyone would be so shocked to know drugs and sex were a big part of Playboy. After watching the episodes i do not know who to believe. Most of the people featured in the documentary, starred in TGND and in my opinion did not seem wary of Hefner or disgusted by him. So i'm still thinking there are reasons for speaking out now.

The low rating is undeserved
13 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really surprised at such a low rating. This movie is such a great family film. Ok it's not the same as the first 2 in the way it's more family orientated. However I think it's a great family Christmas film and one that kids would love. The dogs are really cute and Devito and Keaton are perfect for the voices. I recommend watching it at Christmas, it's not a movie that is a huge blockbuster but for a couple of hours at Christmas why not?!

Grease (1978)

Grease deserves more than 7
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Grease is a classic and a movie that never gets old! I think most people have seen it but just incase well it stars Olivia Newton John as Sandy Olsen who has come to Rydell High in California from Australia. She spent the summer with Danny Zuko played by John Travolta. The movie shows Danny trying to win back Sandy and the experience along the way with lots of colourful characters. It's a musical so there's lots of singing but the songs are fantastic. I think the dance scenes were choreographed really well and the actors perform so well. Especially John Travolta in the Greased Lightning routine. Great film and great soundtrack too!

Why such a low rating
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand why this film has only 6 out of 10. It's a cult classic! Not really so big on laughs but nevertheless funny. To imagine if a 17 year old could really pull that off, these days not but in 1990 very possible. I love that it's set in LA, it fit well to the whole storyline. There are memorable scenes like Kenny shooting the dishes because Swell asked him to do the dishes and Walter ordering a TV Entertainment Center with Swells Petty cash. One of my all time faves!

Warning: Spoilers
TSAM is absolutely hilarious! From start to finish this movie makes me laugh so much. From Ben Stiller as Ted who is still in love with his school crush Mary ten years after school has ended. He hires Pat Healy a Private investigator to track her down but then Pat falls for her. My favourite scenes are the ones with Warren, he is hilarious! All the characters are so funny and this film will have you in a laughing fit.

Mean Girls (2004)
10/10
Just awesome
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I love Mean Girls. Since coming out in 2004, I've watched it so many times I know the whole dialogue. It has a lot of SNL Cast members in it and I think them along with the younger cast fit so well together. Lindsay Lohan plays Cady Herron who leaves Africa to come to a mainstream school. Where she meets "The Plastics". Although comical I think it focuses a lot on cliques at Schools and bullying. There is a message in this film that you should be yourself and not try to be someone else. You see for yourself. Highly recommended!

Amazing and another great Leo performance
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this film on blu ray and it was amazing. I'm a huge fan of Leonardo DiCaprio and this film didn't disappoint. I loved the scenery in the film, it really was spectacular. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass who is like an explorer back in 1823. He has a half cherokee son. He is left for dead after being attacked by a huge bear and his group doesn't want him to slow him down. Tom Hardy is a villian in the film. Then he goes on a very eventful journey of self survival. He really goes through very harsh weather and gets pushed to his limits. I couldn't take my eyes from the screen. Leonardo plays this part so well, in my opinion he was 100 percent deserving of the oscar. One of his best roles!

The Ring (2002)
9/10
Not your usual horror film
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The Ring is definitely not your normal horror film. It's not your usual horror film with teenagers and weapons and predictable scare jumps. The Ring is about Rachel Keller who is investigating the mysterious horrific death of her niece, Katie. What emerges is truly scary and dark. It really makes you think and go to the dark side a bit. Some scenes are quite disturbing but really the whole film is disturbing. I absolutely recommend it. It will play on your mind for a long time!

My Girl (1991)
10/10
One of the most touching films ever
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
My Girl is just beautiful. I've watched it so many times and each time it's like the first time. The film tells the story of Vada Sultenfuss, a girl who lives with her father at their house which is also a funeral parlour. Set in the early 70's it shows Vada growing up during this time alongside her best friend Thomas Jay. It explores lots of topics including death, puberty, parenting and friendship. It's a tear jerker so gave the tissues ready!

Very sweet movie!
9 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I love this film. I remember seeing it at the Cinema and really enjoying it. I guess in a way it's like a lot of other similar films where one goes back and visits their hometown but this one is my favourite! Reese Witherspoon plays Melanie Carmichael, a fashion designer from Alabama who has made it big in New York but she needs to go back to Alabama to get her husband to sign divorce papers so she can marry her political boyfriend Andrew. A lot of things happen when she's back in Alabama. In my opinion the film proves that home really where is the heart is. This film provides laughs and a happy ending!

Never gets old
8 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This film is like a cult classic for me. I've watched it thousands of times and it really never gets old. It's definitely a chick flick and maybe one to watch with a group of girls to have a good laugh. Lisa Kudrow plays Michele and gives her quirky humor. Mira Sorvino plays Romy and has a different kind of humor but they both work well together in this movie. Also another great aspect of the film is the music, most of which is 80's.

Heartfelt and moving!
8 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
When I was watching the documentary I was thinking wow this boy Sam Berns is amazing and so brave! Sam has a rare disorder but that doesn't seem to stop him from being courageous. It was really sad to see all the tests he had to go through but his parents seemed so dedicated on helping him and doing their best for their son. He is a true inspiration and I couldn't take my eyes away from the TV. Absolutely worth watching!

A timeless Classic
8 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I've watched this film more times than I can count and why? Well it's a beautiful film and a movie that always puts me in a good mood. Julie Andrews plays Maria who goes to the Captain Von Trapp's household to be a frauline to help with his children. Of course it's a musical so there is lot's of singing but these songs are so nice and give me goosebumps every time. It really is like a fairy tale but that's what makes it so special. It's a very long film but guaranteed worth it! In my opinion of the best musicals ever!

Still love it after 24 years!
8 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This film is so unbelievably funny! Jim Carrey is a comical genius. I actually laugh tears when I watch this film. If you haven't seen it already then in a nutshell it's about Ace Ventura who is a pet detective and he gets asked to find Snowflake the missing Miami Dolphins mascot. Lots of funny things happen along the way. Definitely watch it, it's very funny!

Pleasantly Surprised
8 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Well here is another Jennifer Lawrence film that I loved. At the beginning of the film, it starts a bit slow but then gets quite good. Jennifer Lawrence plays a character based on a real life woman who became very successful with a mop and other products. I think her and Bradley Cooper work great together. He plays the QVC boss who promotes Joy's mop. I think the movie really shows what a person is capable of when they don't give up! I recommend this film and would definitely watch it again!

Ok I'll be honest I didn't know much about Coral but after watching this documentary I really want to learn more. I found the documentary really informative and at the same time quite sad. We have such an amazing planet and it should be looked after more. I really recommend that you watch this documentary.

Wasn't impressed
7 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Although the actors played these difficult roles very well as a whole I wasn't impressed. In my opinion it was too violent and dragged on in some parts. I understand that they are recreating what took place in real life but to some viewers it can be too much to handle. I'm Australian and I feel with some Australian films they can be very confronting for example Head on, Snowtown, Candy etc. But if you like that in a film then this film will definitely provide that. The scene with the dog was particularly hard to watch. I don't recommend this film but I'm sure there are people out there who enjoyed it.

Not Channing's best work
7 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a big fan of Channing Tatum but sadly on this occasion I was disappointed. I feel like he has played a similar character like this in Step up. Always trying to pursue the girl even though at first she's not interested. I feel the film was a bit far fetched in the way that what are the chances of a guy moving to New York and getting picked up by a ticket scalper to participate in underground fighting. In my opinion not very high. Anyway I wouldn't recommend it.

Falling Down (1993)

One of Michael Douglas' best films!
7 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I only just watched this film today on Netflix. I was actually quite surprised. He plays an unemployed defense worker who is trying to get to his daughters birthday. What I liked about the film is firstly that it's set in Los Angeles and it shows many different parts of the city. Secondly all the different people he encounters and the way he deals with them. Robert Duvall plays the Detective who is retiring but on his last day of work is investigating William Foster. He plays the part really well. The only thing I didn't like is the length of the film, it could of been a bit shorter. But overall was a great film and definitely kept me wondering what was going to happen next.

Amazing and Amazingly done!
19 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I was never so interested in the OJ Simpson case because I was only 10 when it happened. However my husband suggested I watch it and I'm so glad I did. One of the main things I love about this show is the way they really made it look like 94/95. With the old cell phones, the big old TV sets and the old video cameras etc. I think that really made the show authentic. I also think the actors portrayed the real life characters very well. I think David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian was a great choice. Also Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark was also great, they look very similar. I think this show has done a superb job of retelling one of the most biggest trials in history. Not that my personal opinion should influence anyone but there is no doubt in my mind that he is 100% guilty. But when sensitive controversial subjects like race come into play then the truth can be hidden behind the emotions and legal red tape. Which is what I think happened here with OJ Simpson. Nevertheless please watch it for yourself and make your own opinions. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Diana (2013)
4/10
Very disappointing
19 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Well I wasn't expecting much of this film anyway but it was very disappointing I'm not sure why Naomi Watts was chosen to play the role of Diana because in my opinion she is nothing like her. As far as the actual film is concerned, I didn't like how it focused so much on the relationship between Diana and Hasnat Khan. It also seemed to focus mostly on the most photographic parts of Diana's life like the landmine visit, the clothes auction that William suggested and of course the infamous photos of her on Dodi's Liner before her death. In my opinion it's just portraying what everyone already has seen but Naomi Watts adds nothing to it. There was only one Diana and no one can replace her. I can totally understand the negative reviews. Some people's lives are just better left alone.

Touching and rememberable
3 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I couldn't take my eyes from this film. While generally it's an extremely sad film, there are moments that are heart touching. I didn't really know much about what happened to African American women in the early 1920s so it was an eye opener for me. In my opinion women were treated like property and obviously like slaves. There are a lot of confronting themes in this film like incest and violence so if these subjects make you uncomfortable then this isn't a good film to watch. With that being said there are some truly amazing scenes that will bring tears to your eyes. Oprah played her part wonderfully and so did Whoopi Goldberg. I highly recommended this film if you have a few spare hours. Keep the tissues ready!

Amazing and Heartfelt Film
3 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I've only just seen the film recently. I'm a huge fan of Sean Penn and I'm so disappointed I waited so long to watch this! Susan Sarandon plays a Sister nun who helps Sean Penn's Character before he gets killed by lethal injection. She is very empathetic and forgiving to him and tries to get him to admit what he done and ask the murdered victims families for forgiveness. In the film she is met with criticism from her own family and the victims families because of her close bond with Matthew Poncelet. However she tries to be there for both sides, him and their families because she isn't taking sides, she just wants to bring god and healing to them all.

13 Reasons Why (2017–2020)
9/10
Best TV Show I've watched in a long time!
24 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
My husband watched this then convinced me to watch it and I'm so glad I did! At first I'll admit it was hard to get into but by the 3rd episode I was hooked. I know the themes in this show won't sit well with some people but sadly it is happening in real life and needs to be brought to peoples attention. I think Katherine Langford who like myself also comes from Perth did an amazing job playing Hannah Baker. I think the show really goes deep into issues of bullying, peer pressure, rape and of course suicide. I think the whole idea of her recording the reasons why on the tapes was a great part of the show considering many people commit suicide and leave no reasons why they did it. I didn't know most of the actors who are in the show but I must say they all acted these characters very well.

Very moving and worth watching
25 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not really a Royal family fan but I've always been interested in Princess Diana. This documentary mostly involves her two sons talking about her as a mother and their memories of her. I was amazed at how polite, emotional and down to earth they both are. You can see in the interviews that they still think about their mother a lot and I think they are both a credit to her. The documentary shows photos and footage of them with her and also them at her funeral in 1997. If Diana was still alive she would be so proud of the men they have grown up to be but I'm sure looking down from heaven she is too!
