The Green Knight (2021)
A Great complimentary movie that focus on Character Study
This is a great movie for a proper movie goers who love a character study & methodical plots/story.
Unfortunately, it's heavy focus on that very character study so need to really pay attention to the scenes. Recommending watching with subs even on theaters. Also why it basically has little to no action so don't expect an action movie.
This is a thematically & spiritually faithful to the inspiration folklore & poems. An amazing complimentary to the Arturian legend with its own A24 unique takes.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)
It's an immersiver Sims RPG that very "immersive" while also "not"

Dragon's Dogma (2020)
Overall a DECENT ANIME & somewhat faithful the OG game
+ Personally I think it's a decent story with its themes & time constraint, alongside a pretty good CG animation.
+ Art design is totally on point with the game.
+ The story & lore itself "somewhat" faithful, albeit rather simplified & shortened. This is clearly an alternate story & possibly a prequel of the game.
+ It definitely put the "dark" in fantasy for sure. Also, expect full on nudity.
+ Best fight scenes happened in one certain episode.
+ Recommended for the fans of the OG game, even though there is a possibility for mixed feelings for some.

NOTE*: the minus 10 points for the story is a reflection on how the story plot in this game don't work on the base fundamental level themes while also managed to destroyed everything that has been built upon in the first game TLOU1. It's like having a great 2 floors house but filled with pest rats. Instead of solve the pest problems rationally, you blow up your house within seconds. Maybe you kill the pest rats, maybe you not ...
Overall rating: curious to rent, do not recommend buying it. 3.9/10
Space Force (2020)
This SPACE FORCE is better & fun than IRL SPACE FORCE
This is a funny & actually quite dramatic show, I don't get some people. Well, comedy is indeed subjective, so yeah ...
In any case, the highlights of this series for me:
+ Nerd, I mean Naird-Mallory Dynamic duo.
+ Ali-Chan anime slice of life comedy.
+ Brad & Fook Tony of Superbad.
Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 (2020)
There is more of this anime than the overwhelming negativity because of artistic choice
The amount of negativity on this anime is downright disgusting, unreasonable, & unfair. So many 2D purists out there that rate it 1/10 just because the anime is 3D CGI style. The story & aesthetic actually great, one of the best CGI animation so far.
Story: 7
Art: 8
sound:8
character: 8
enjoyment: 8
overall: 8
In any case, this is recommended for GiTS fans or overall Cyberpunk fandom. The full CGI aesthetic might be something new, but it's not hard to get into like other anime & the animation actually pretty superb.
the story basically the continuation of GiTS SAC & Arise, with both series has its own easter eggs scenes if anyone look it hard enough. Major & friends basically now hired as a mercenary unit, the former members of Japan's elite Section 9 are faced with the sudden appearance of "Post-Human," a being with tremendous intelligence and physical capabilities. Plenty of intrigues in the new US territory.
Altered Carbon: Resleeved (2020)
Great anime movie, simple plot yet delivered masterfully.
I think this movie is easily 7-8 overall rating score. Such weird thing that the spin off movie got such low score. Also, I think this version of Kovics actually better than the main one in season 2!! Some film journalists hate this spin off too for some reasons. I don't get this at all. It's indeed a simple plot, but it has top notch production & the story deliver in such entertaining way too ...
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Somewhat a good action flick in a mess of awful story, "terminating" the whole franchise
This movie failed not because of horrible action scenes or whatnot, in fact it has some of the best action scenes in Terminator movies. What truly failed is the story, the writings, the characters, & the ultimate sin of franchise AKA destroying everything about the series.
It all bogs down to meaningless & convoluted changes & pretty much broke what made Terminator, "Terminator." It's very unfortunate when most of the part of the action scenes actually very thrilling & no awful jump cuts or stupid shaky cams like most of action movies this days.
Not including how the people work on the movie totally awful in promoting this movie, alienating the fans, & pretty much discouraging them to watch it.
If you watch it in a total brain dead mode, you may find a bit of enjoyment out of it.
The Witcher (2019)
My HYPE medallion is humming & Netflix totally
I just watched it in one sitting. It's pretty amazing. The actions scenes actually pretty great, arguably one of the best one in any movies/shows this year. I kinda like & welcomed the new stuffs like Yennefer's backstory & the details in battle of Sodden Hill, but I was kinda conflicted on the changes of how Geralt & Ciri met each other like it was the first time. I think this is 8.5/10 imo. Also:
+ the Nilfgaard armors still awful, but the cover of darkness & nights in most of the scenes actually somewhat "removed" that awful wrinkles (LOL) & actually works as intended as a terrorizing/invaders army. Still though, I really hope they changed it for season 2 like some kind of massive upgrades or something.
+ Kinda disappointed how they depict dryads so far. Again, Eithne supposed to be "non-human" & truly majestic! Yes, some of the dryads are past human & elves, but there are actual race of dryad!! This is a massive mistake imo ...
+ I totally love the intro logo of each episodes. This kind of things are just pure fan service.
+ Geralt & Jaskier/Dandelion dynamic is totally perfect imo LOL
+ Best episode is definitely Lesser Evil
+ Netflix should make a 12 episodes for season 2!!!
I would wager that fans of the books or the games or both will likely enjoy this show very much, while some of the newcomers might be stumbled a little bit at first viewing & I hope this people give another viewing to really assemble the stories much better with the time jumps. That's it.
Joker (2019)
DON'T BELIEVE THE MEDIA!
Don't believe the media, watch & judge this movie on your own perspectives. This is a character study movie that very much akin to what I would consider "Modern Greek Tragedy." I can guarantee that this movie will be a classic that being analyzed over & over for years to come. Everything about this movie ooze amazing arts & passions. Joaquin Phoenix performances is OSCAR WINNER worthy!
For DC fans, there are definitely Batman mythos in the movie & I would consider this as an actual comic book movie, despite the director himself admitted otherwise btw. Even more, there are some scenes that meticulously shoot like a a comic book panels.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
One word: imperiosus!!
Yes, this movie & its franchise will be a timeless masterpiece in Action Movie Hall of Fame. No denying that. Everything executed with style, with its own masterful style. Keanu Reeves IS JOHN WICK, John Wick IS KEANU REEVES.
Men in Black: International (2019)
IT SHOULD BE ADVERTISED MUCH BETTER
I think it's a fine movie for a quick fun flick. It's not as funny & interesting as previous MIB, but nonetheless it's a fine addition to the franchise.
There are certainly some minor jabs at "Men" In Black in humorous way, but I think it's unnecessary & counter productive to the movie. The movie plots itself pretty much detached from all of that. Maybe Sony & the movie makers just can't help themselves I guess . . .
idk, sometimes they preach all the "good" things, but when it comes to reality more often we find the hypocrisy . . .
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Bring a better "human" plot please!!
Godzilla + Kaiju fights 9/10, we need it more.
Human scenes 6/10. Meh to downright mediocre at times, They just can't bring a proper survival feels with a more unique characters. Kong Skull Island at least managed to have some interesting cast of characters to go into the journey. Even Godzilla (1998) have a better characters LOL
Overall, 7.5/10. Watch it for the Kaiju fights.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Legit Worst MCU movie to date
Everything in this movie make no sense, so many plot holes on the fundamental of the plot itself & It's literally ruin the lore of decades of MCU movies so far.
Nick Fury reduced to comic relief & possibly have chronic amnesia all this years of career in SHIELD.
Ugh, yes . . . Captain Marvel herself. Definitely not "too emotional" as everybody tells her & certainly not even a character. She's an omnipotent plot device that will send any message that writers wanted too. Literally no sense of progression & character's development.
Batman Ninja (2018)
Great movie. Believe the hype & watch it yourself.
This is a great batman movie that willing to embrace everything about cartoon & anime as media like any other. Such a shame some people/fans gave low rating because of wrong expectations (as they probably want dark & grim tone) of the overall story. the movie celebrated Batman characters & all of its cliches while mixing everything about Japanese pop culture & anime in general. You won't find anything remotely similar with other DC animated movies or MCU movies (for that matter). Way better than Justice League or Suicide Squad DCEU. It's just a very fun movie with simple story of Batman Family fighting Gotham's Greatest Criminals in Sengoku era of Japan. .
But, no movie without its flaws. some characters including batman rogues gallery felt underdeveloped. It's understandable & it's fair enough that most of them got decent screen time. the story itself seems like a season of Batman anime condensed into one movie, I feel a 2 part movies would be much proper. The tone of movie is much closer to Adam West's Batman with some serious design & Japanese awesomeness. As the main focus of the movie, both Batman & Joker got a proper conclusion.
For the visual, overall it's good while a couple of scenes with "questionable" art style & still a bit bummed with laggy CGI. I still don't get why most of Japanese animators preferred this way (except DF studio). I guess they're still way behind maturity in 3D animation compare to Hollywood. The music are great mix of the classic batman theme & traditional Japanese music.

Bright (2017)
A movie that echo chamber critics hates but common people loves
You love "LOTR" with its high fantasy & all? You love some buddy cops like "Training Day" or "Bad Boys" ? This is a great mix of it that you could enjoyed & even give some nuances to it. It's a journey of two cops on a quest at the LA land in the middle of the gangsters, Orcs clan, Elf Assassins, & Magic FBI. This movie almost cyberpunk-ish too like "Shadowrun series" for RPG fans with the overcrowded settings in downtown LA while almost a sci-fi city in "Elftown" with rich & powerful elfs controlling the city. The movie definitely has great setting & memorable characters. Will Smith & Joel Edgerton are having a great chemistry in this.
Story: 8/10. Probably the best Max Landis work on movies so far.
Setting: 8/10. Great, finally something unique in Hollywood (although not exactly new with Shadowrun series).
Characters: 7/10. MCs are great but some supporting casts aren't fleshed out enough.
Sounds: 6/10/ average, passable.
Action: 7/10. There are some good fight scenes but there are also some confusing choreographs.
Cinematography: 7/10. Honestly, David Ayer wouldn't be my first choice to direct this. Gareth Evans or Chad Stahelski who did a better action scenes & gave a better images would be better on this.
Can't wait to see a sequel if Netflix are planned it. I would love to see more orcs, dwarves, or even cat people & other fantasy beings in LA land!
Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
Transformers: The Last PLEASE!
This is it! this is really the last straw in Michael bay Unepic Transformers movie. This movie will convinced everyone that enough is enough for this franchise. Michael Bay just can't write or direct consistent making plot and emotions breathe. Everything in this movie jumbled into abomination that both ugly inside out.
Talented people from VFX and concept designers that actually has some merits in their works wasted by Michael Bay directions and convoluted story cookie cutter. This people deserved better just as the fans and movie audiences.
Vote with your wallet is the only way to make it better. Michael Bay is done! Let this franchise dead and maybe! Just maybe! in 4-5 years or so, Hollywood would actually care about making a coherent enjoyable good movie.
Story: 3/10
actors performances: 5/10 (even the great sir Anthony Hopkins can't save it. This movie is a career killer.)
Sounds and Musics: 2/10
Cinematography: 2/10
VFX and art designs: 7/10 (the only kinda redeeming quality)
Overall final verdict: 3/10
Death Note (2017)
Some actually "good concepts" despite "unfaithful" to original but "fail in executions"
Alright, Death Note Netflix is not as bad as I thought. Though In no way that this is faithful to the originals or purposely wanted it to be. So fans will likely hate it and other non-fans just might enjoyed it if they could pass certain things. 6/10 to me as a fan of the series. If this project was a 8 episodes TV series instead of movie, I could see the studio might just produced a better scripts.
This movie is basically:
- Green Goblin Ryuk, no way he's neutral though he's definitely the best part cause' W. Defoe's voices is amazing.
- Light and L kinda dumb & arrogance. But at least both have some redeemable traits.
- Mia /Misa is a total bitch in good or bad ways.
- Some bending rules for the book that purposely made as total hack to make some intense drama.
- Hyper violence but little to nothing of intense smart/intelligence cat & mouse fights. Even Breaking Bad has this totally balanced up.
- Great cinematography in most of the scenes.
- Passable OST, yep already forget about it.
- I did see the twist the moment both Light & L made a pretty dumb move.
- NO POTATO CHIP SCENE!!! THAT'S THE REAL CRIME OF THIS MOVIE! LOL
Assassin's Creed (2016)
Actually pretty decent, Critics were being too harsh on this movie
I understand that some characters might have underwritten but people that bashing this movie as confusing are beyond me, maybe they just like or expect some full blown explosions and mediocre/boring setting. this is as simple as it can get. though the movie should've utilize more of its time with cutting some of exposition scenes and replace it with character developments, I get that it's beautiful but some time it's a little bit obnoxious. Also at least the action are far more clearer than half of action movies with their shaky cams. the parkour and fighting scenes though not a lot but executed pretty well. 7,5/10
I'll be honest I enjoyed this movie more than CA: Civil War. Though now I much prefer if this series made as a TV series not a movie. Maybe that's why some people still confused by the whole story and lore. So to summary:
Pros:
+ overall good MC and M. Fasbender did a great performances.
+ decent acting for some characters.
+ Beautiful Cinematography.
+ a faithful depictions of Assassins and Templars from the series.
+ well done action scenes. good parkour and fighting scenes. shaky cams and obnoxious jump cuts are pretty minimal, maybe only 1-2 scenes.
+ decent music but definitely could do more
Cons:
- Average story and plots, pretty similar to the first game storyline but with some changes and twists.
-Some dialogues were not that good. Not immersive and bit awkward.
-Some characters were underdeveloped, especially in the past time.
-a bit underwhelming ending, obvious sequel baiting.
-too many stay still/exposition scenes, maybe they should cut those and give some characters a perspectives and developments.
