Disturbia (2007)

Cheap-Predictable-Boring

I don't know, maybe there's something wrong with me and maybe my opinion would be different a couple of years ago but...there's simply NOTHING interesting in this movie.

The story is the most common one I could ever imagine, the creepy neighbor who is ultimately a killer is seen in so many movies. It's simply recycling having nothing new to say.

But apart from the non-original story, the movie does not get interesting in any of the 105 minutes. In fact, the suspense is cheap, the main "villain" doesn't actually appear until a long time, there are no plot twists and the ending seems known from the beginning.

Not to mention the ridiculous and unnecessary drama about the car accident or the love affair.

It seems like such a waste of time and for me it's just another confirmation that today it is extremely difficult to find a decent mystery thriller that doesn't let you down.

The Hunt (2012)

One of the few films that actually frustrated me

I certainly don't find myself in the category of movie watchers who think that something is gonna change in the plot if they talk to the characters. I actually find it really annoying when other people keep commenting during the film.

However this time I totally felt like I was in the movie, like I needed to change what's gonna happen, like make the girl "tell the truth" or make the main character "insist about being innocent".

In fact the movie was so powerful it made you wonder what you could possibly do in a similar situation being the main character, his son or one of the family friends.

It indicated in the best way how our society still remains medieval, how from one moment to another civilized people can become animals hunting for blood , seeking revenge, actually wanting to "burn the witches". Definitely one of the best films I've watched.

Fermat's Room (2007)

Even better than what I expected

To be honest, I always trust Spanish thrillers, cause for me it's a different and exceptional approach to mystery, having seen other relative movies.

I believe this one is one of the best films of the genre, and really enjoyable. As a matter of fact, it doesn't include any horror, however it creates panic to the viewer, who is watching the suspicions and thinking of the prime actors. And the entire plot is so interesting and mysterious simultaneously, as it is based on mathematics. The good point is that you cant really understand what has really happened until the end literally. I think it's a very nice choice and I really recommend it!

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Totally no reason of existence

I strongly believe that even people who did not have any special interest on Spiderman found the original Tobey Maguire trilogy at far more interesting than other superhero films. Why? Because simply these films (and especially 1st and 2nd) were very human-like, and especially moving! For example, who does not remember the original uncle-Ben scene?

However, this new version of the spider man story is just too flat, and too poor compared to the original. Weak performances, poor storyline and definitely a movie without any social aspect or meaning.

For me the only reason to watch this movie would be some action scenes, which however are not that impressive for 2012, and which render this film watchable for only a small minority. And I have to admit that the relatively high rating really surprises me.

The Hidden Face (2011)

A very interesting- non preventable plot!

When the film began, I was quite sure I was about to watch another conventional horror story, about a haunted house and all the rest...I could not imagine it would evolve to such an interesting plot. Indisputably, one of the most interesting thrillers I have watched, as it was so difficult to guess what would finally happen. Also, the film is so thrilling that it keeps you watching very carefully! Additionally, it makes your mind work and try to imagine who is finally responsible... Indeed, I recommend this movie without any hesitation and I give it 10 out of 10! I believe it is a top movie for the last 5 years at least- must watch!
