Bad taste
21 November 2021
In the first home alones you cheered on the kid because the bad dudes were well...bad. In this story it's a huge misunderstanding between two parties of good people. The adults get the short end of the misunderstanding and endure literal torture. Even my 6 and 8 year old were cringing and didn't think it was funny. Just awful and graphic for a family movie.

Soul searching and thoughtful

Warning: Spoilers
It was witty, funny, and heart warming. Some people didn't like the ending, just like they didn't like the ending of Onward. The ending doesn't tell you what happened but that's exactly the point! There is no wrong choice in his available options of choices at the end as long as he is doing it with passion, love, and happiness. He doesn't have to be fulfilling in exact purpose.

Worth at least one watch, not a waste.

The cartoon is much better. It was entertaining and I liked the different perspective on the story. The mulan actress was excellent and well cast. It wasn't the greatest movie ever but it was engaging to watch. There were scenes that seemed half baked and the acting was periodically dry. Overall, worth at least one watch. Not worth $30 though, glad we got to watch it for free.

Real and imaginative!

I lost my father when I was young and could really relate to this movie. I loved how real to life it was with the lessons to be learned but so creative with its use of magic and folklore. Many of the reviews gave it bad reviews because of the ending. You have to keep an open mind to the lessons it's trying to teach in the end. For example, I never knew my father after a certain age but his life lives on through others.

the worst

The acting talent was horrendous. The knife girl was so cringe. The twist at the end and mando fighting was the only thing that gave this one some stars. Hoping these actors never return to the show.

Inaccurate portrayal of Christians and Atheists
30 December 2014
I am a devout Christian and I was offended by this movie. I have many Muslim, atheist, business men/women in my circle of friends. None of them are the belligerent portrayals played out in this film. There are many good muslims, atheists and business men/women in the world. I was sorely disappointed by the attempt of the creation of these stereotypes. I hope these stereotypes are dissolved.

Now in defense of why I at least gave this movie a 5. There are some valid points (christian and atheist) made in this film that deserve serious thought and/or prayer. I don't think this film is a waste of time if you can ignore, which admittedly was difficult for me, the stereotypes. There is a lot of good content and inspiration to be had.

God IS NOT dead. Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of God (i.e. love) in this film for our Non-Christian friends.

Heartwarming and humorous
9 October 2014
Not at all preachy. Even one who is not religious would watch this film wanting to be a better person, not necessarily a Mormon. The cast was well chosen and were genuine in their responses. The Mormons do not try to cover up what is said about them in the media in this film. They openly acknowledge head on and address the questions in a respectable manner. Every family/individuals story tugged at my heart in a different way. The biggest walk away for me was that regardless of where you are from we all are human beings (or children of God as the Mormons would put it). We all desire the same thing, which is to be happy and to live in peace. I highly recommend this movie for people of all ages, religions, ethnicity, etc.
