Ignore the small stuff and enjoy the story.
3 November 2013
First off, let me say that I actually liked this movie a lot. Besides the lack of acting talent from the star (who is CLEARLY NOT a high school student), I think the acting as an ensemble was very good. The only thing that annoyed me was how the organization seemed over the top. Since they CONSTANTLY violate this kid's 8th amendment rights. It was very sad and the story was great. This movie was well written, and if this was true to form with the actual events, I feel even more drawn to it. Wait for the first 20 or so minutes, as it gets more interesting after that development time, and excuse the annoyances of poor acting & low budget, because it is well worth seeing. You will leave impressed by what they did with such a small budget.

Horrible :-)
4 October 2013
I have never been happy to see a movie flop than I am at this one. This movie is the hugest pile of garbage I ever witnessed -- and I sat through Chernobyl Diaries. Don't waste your time watching this crap, let alone your money.

I watched some of it online for the dancing but even that was trash. The acting is poor. Chris Brown and everyone else try so hard to be the "cool guy" or "sensitive jock" archetype, but, instead they look like a bunch of amateurs that turned an already bad script into just another teen drama bullshit story with 90s music, shaky cameras, and scenes that have no substance but push the plot forward. Not to mention the fact that dance movies weren't really ever good, but have been increasingly bad starting from You Got Served. Don't bother with this (not like I expect anyone to, anyway). Hopefully Chris brown will learn from this and stick to was he's known for; making music and beating women...better yet, hopefully he'll decide to leave fame all together. 1/10

Pleasant Surprise!
1 June 2013
WOW! I loved this movie. I kept seeing commercials for it, but never watched it because it looked boring, but today, I watched it at home (TOTALLY not on putlocker!) and I must say, I'm glad I did. It isn't some fast thrill ride, because there's about 20 minutes of serious character development, and back-story, but once you get into it, it's great.

It's about a woman who goes to the doctor for depression after a suicide attempt, and is prescribed anti depressants. She murders her husband and the doctor tries to understand why and what happened. It isn't straightforward, because the Dr. suspects something else is going on and the entire time, you're trying to solve the mystery along with him.

The actors were amazing, and although Catherine Zeta-Jones wasn't at her best, Jude Law completely made up for it and made it an easy watch. PLUS, you get a hot make-out/heavy petting session with CZJ and the other female lead. For that alone I'd recommend this movie.

The plot was refreshing and even though it's a transparent condemnation of the medical & pharmaceutical industry, it did a great job of telling it's story -- pacing/content considered.

Like I said, the actor's were amazing and the movie wasn't too long or too short, but just right. Must see for anyone who loves a good crime- mystery/drama.

"I am not my hair"
8 April 2013
When asked about changing her hair for this role, Halle Berry said "I am not my hair" and she was absolutely right.

First, let me say this if a WWE film, but not like all the others. It isn't corny or laughable, and while it is not an Oscar worthy film, I think it is definitely worth the watch. Good acting throughout and Halle actually didn't have to carry the movie herself; everyone did a great job. This film had great acting, good plot, original story, and great pacing -- it was exciting from start to finish.

Going in to this, I saw that it was made by WWE, and thought it was going to be boring flick with dry humor and dialogue akin to the overly dramatized thing you see from Jerry Bruckheimer on the CSI franchise, but it was none of that. Apparently WWE was just involved on paper (or got their act together) because this was good. The cast was amazing and the chemistry was obvious between the stars.

Overall, I don't think it'll win any awards -- it doesn't try to though -- but I would surely recommend people to see this. It is -- unlike most out today -- worth the $10 and time in the theater, and Halle Berry shows why she is one of the best leading actresses out. Hopefully this means she'll be making more things in the near future (I can't wait to see her in X-Men this year!!)

Should've been called " Robot Chicken:Live Action"
3 March 2013
This movie was dumb. It wasn't even really funny, but rather, something trying to be funny for no other reason than being raunchy. It didn't have any plot, but that wasn't the worst part, because I knew what I was going in. The problem was that it was random without any payoff. The jokes were stale and clichéd. In my opinion, the only "funny" parts were the ones with Knoxville and the Halle Berry date scene -- the last skit was OK, but not much to talk about.

Overall, it isn't worth paying for (I didn't, I just watched it online). It consisted of a bunch of Robot Chickenesque vignettes, but this was garbage compared to that -- which amazes me because Robot Chicken is ONLY FIFTEEN FREAKING MINUTES!!!. Even though I didn't pay a cent for it, I STILL feel ripped off.

Really, the only goo thing I can say about this was that it was, only an hour long. I clearly wouldn't recommend paying 10 bucks to see this in theater, but truthfully, I wouldn't even recommend wasting the two minutes it takes to Google and stream this film. Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry must have just had a spare weekend and wanted to go shopping, so they signed on to do this project and get a quick 10 thou.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!

Life's Hard boo hoo!
2 March 2013
First of, please don't let the title of this review turn you off of the movie. It was funny from start to finish. Not an Oscar movie full of originality, but what comedy is (besides tropic thunder? Really,it's like every other "road trip" movie. Silly antics with a lead role with not many redeeming qualities (Sandy the male), followed by some situations where the characters "learn" life lessons from each other, and realize they aren't so different.

The only thing that bothered me about the film was that the character who always has a story explaining her actions wan't like other movies. For Instance, in due date, Zach G was annoying, but his father was dead and Zach was still a relatable character. However, Diane (the identity thief, had no redeeming qualities in my opinion.

---POSSIBLE SPOILER ---

The writes tried to have us identify with her, and to some extent, succeeded, but instead of her owning up to how she was, she blamed her actions on the fact that she was overweight, and had no friends and had a bad childhood. BOO HOO. TOO FREAKIN BAD! We all have a hard time, but everyone doesn't go around stealing and ruining people's lives.

Like I said, at the end, she somewhat redeemed herself, but that whole situation annoyed me. ----PSEUDO SPOILER OVER----

Overall, I think the movie was good. People are complaining about a lack of substance, bit take it for what it is: a February comedy. It wasn't meant to have people question the meaning of existence, it was intended to make you laugh, and for that, it was a success. I laughed from beginning to end -- except for the sappy BS -- and I'd recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a funny movie on a date night.

Great

Warning: Spoilers
I loved everything about this movie with the exception of the ending. While it wasn't completely predictable -- as I thought there were only two outcomes: JGL wins or Bruce wins -- so for that I respect the ending. However, this was pretty cliché and, for me, almost ruined the experience and made me feel that, in only 5 minutes, the entire 95 prior to that were negated and just undermined. That being said, I still love the movie and think you should see it, but I'm also hoping that in three months when the DVD comes out, there will be a "director's cut" or alternate ending. I would also like to see maybe a sequel -- or even better: a PREquel -- explaining more in dept how loopers came to be and how the TK's found and began to use their powers. They should also try to explore how the kid at the end will take this event's happening and, how this parallel reality will pan out.
