Halloween Ends (2022)

Halloween ends in a serious mess.

When i watched halloween kills i didnt think it could sink any lower, i was wrong halloween ends is a serious mess of a movie that makes halloween kills look good.

To make a decision and put michael myers and corey killing together as a team was an absolute joke, and the grandaughter was really annoying at times. And why give michael hardly any screen time it just doesn't make any sense you literally only see him for about 20 seconds in the first hour.

Im just going to hope and prey that someone comes along and rescues this mess. No matter what if your a big fan of the Halloween franchise like me your going to watch it but your going to be very disappointed with this one.

I scored it a 3/10 and thats because i couldn't bring myself to score it any lower which is what it deserved.

What a waste of time.

The Odds (2018)

If you pause it at the 1 hour 39 minutes and 21 seconds mark im sure there is at least 3 people in the back ground 1 sitting to the left of the table 1 just to the right of the table with a clip board and 1 too the right of the screen with his hands in his pocket, doww dont think they was meant to be there, ok i liked the idea of the movie although there is better versions out there, would you rather being one of them. Now put yourself in the womans shoes would you really put yourself through this torture knowing theres only a 1 in 20 chance of winning the money, i dont think so. Now put yourself in the mans shoes would you torture someone, be verbaly nasty and slap them about and give them a loaded gun, i dont think so. A generous 3 from me and thats for the idea alone.

Ambulance (2022)

Action packed BUT.............

Like i said this movie is action packed from start to finish with no break at all but man the shaky cam and ridiculous over use of drones gets annoying really fast, there's literally drone footage coming from tops of buildings going straight down to the floor on a number of occasions, it just dont make sense at times.

Look if your into non stop action this is the movie for you but thats where it ends, everything else is just average.

I score it a 5 for the action alone.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Why the hell as this been made, its a poor sequel to the 1974 tcm i mean come on isnt leather face in his 70s now being that this is set 50 years after the original tcm and hes running round like a athlete and is able to break arms with one hand, what a joke.

Dumb characters, dumb acting, dumb decisions dumb, welll you get the point, do yourselves a favour and watch the original and forget this even exists.

I give it a 3 for gore alone because besides that theres nothing but a total waste of time.

Blacklight (2022)

Its a shame because im a big fan of liam neeson but these b grade action movies need to stop, because every action movie he does now seems like a watered down version of taken, dont get me wrong my hat goes off to him for still putting in work but he just doesn't seem to fit these rolls anymore, maybe it's age or wrong choice of director im not sure but one thing i do know is that mr neeson looks like an old man kickin young mens asses, it just doesn't look good.

I really want to see more from liam but in a different type of roll maybe a old time mob gangster type of movie, now that would be great.

I can only give this a 4 because bad plot holes aside and sloppy acting it was worth a watch but only once.

Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins (2021)

best one since the 1st ROTF

Im gonna keep it short and sweet, this is definitely the best ROTF since the 1st one, i did like part 2, 3, and 4 but the 1st ROTF and this one had the same gritty feel to them, don't get me wrong the acting could have been better but it's been like that throughout the franchise, and i loved how it all tied in with the 1st movie you could literally watch this movie then watch the 1st movie as a sequel.

A very solid and deserved 7 from me.

Plz keep em coming.

See for Me (2021)

A blind version of hush and panic room.

If you've watched hush or panic room you will know what i mean in the title, although this movie isnt as good as those two its actually not that bad.

For me there could have been a bit more tension build up, but still it was enough to keep me interested throughout, the only minus for me is that the main character sophie gets annoying at times when people are trying there best to help her, you'll know what i mean if you watch it.

Ok all in all this is one of those movies you'll only watch once and most likely forget about, but with no regret of watching it.

6/10 from me.

True Story (III) (2021)

worth your time..........

Woooow i am pleasantly surprised to how good this series was, wesley snipes gives a great performance as per usual great to see him back, also a great job by billy zane, infact, great job by all involved but i have to say im not a massive fan of kevin hart as a stand up comedian but ive gotta give him credit here, he did a great job in true story.

We all knew kevin could act in a comedy but we was a bit unsure if he could play a more serious role and true story now puts any doubts to rest, so hats of to kevin and hope to see more like this from you.

I know this review isnt so much about the series itself but it didnt need to be as there are already alot, i just wanted to underline how great the acting was by all involved.

I give it a 9/10 my only fault is that it wasnt a long enough series and didnt leave it open for a second which is why i didnt give it a 10 but besides that its well worth your time.

Hypnotic (2021)

Oh man i really thought this was going to be a great movie, but yet again another run of the mill movie from netflix.

The acting was ok i suppose, but it was a really predictable movie all the way through, (SPOILER ALERT) the ending where she gets woke up by the cop, i said to my partner thats still meade before it happened thats how predictable it is, and the ending fight scene was just bad, like two kids play fighting in the playground.

Not to sure what the 10/10 ratings are about maybe they got hypnotized into it.

Im giving this a very generous 3/10 and thats because besides the poor direction and execution i did like the whole concept and the acting was ok.

Mmmm i really dont know what to think about the halloween franchise anymore, i just wish someone would take it to another level, and what i mean by that is make it more dark and gritty just like they did with the batman movies, i mean we as the audience should hate michael Myers but instead alot of us are rooting for him, and because of this its taken the horror element out of it, how can you be scared of michael myers when your on his side you know.

I feel this kind of movie should have a sense of dread about it, a real serious feel to it, after all we are watching a movie about a serial killer but it cant be taken serious when the town folk are running around the neighbourhood shouting *evil dies tonight" i mean come on its not the 1700 with people holding wooden torches and carrying pitch forks hunting for witches.

I just feel that these movies are depending to much on kill scenes these days like the final destination movies and less about the story it self, even the quality in the acting has gone downhill in my eyes anyway, and why would you give the lead actress hardly any screen time its bizarre.

Ok rant over im giving this a 3/10 rating and thats because of the kill scenes alone, i thought everything else was just more of the same.

Ghostwatch (1992 TV Movie)

Ok wow i never thought id be doing a review for this legendry movie, i was 14 when i watched this on the night it aired in 1992 and boy did this send chills down my spine, it starts of slow but it was all done on purpose to lure people in and that's exactly what it did, i remember when i went to school next everybody was talking about it as if it really happened, me included.

After vowing to never watch this again after how bad this creeped me out all those years ago ( im 43 now) i found out that it got released on dvd after a 10 year ban and i finally got to watch it again yesterday and although it didn't have the same impact it had back then i still found it a very eerie movie, so i can only applaud everyone involved in what they done with this movie.

Now to the people that give this low ratings all i can say is back in 1992 there was no internet, no mobile phones, no top graphic consoles or pc's, and movies done in this style were absolutely unheard of, so unless you watched this back then you could never know how much of a creepy movie this was because times have changed since then, but even so people are watching it now and still finding it a creepy movie.

I really hope that more and more people get to watch this movie and give it the recognition it deserved back then, and possibly bring it back into the lime light, doubtful but one can hope.

So my rating for this was always going to be a 10, im probably rating it more as that 14 year old kid back in 1992 to be honest, and thats because i can without a doubt say although there is the 1 or 2 horrors out there that creeped me out (the blair witch project 1999)(silent house 2011) theres never been a movie that had me creeped out as bad as ghost watch and i dont think there ever will be.

Night Teeth (2021)

Dont get all the 1 and 2 ratings it really wasnt that bad, ok it was no interview with a vampire, but not alot of vampire movies can top that movie.

It is a little slow at times but alot of movies are like that now, dont get me wrong this will never be in my top 100 movies not even close but i still think its worth a watch if you got nothing better to do, its not a 10 but its not a 1 either, so just watch it for yourself and make up your own mind, you may love it you may hate it but decide for yourself and dont let the 1 ratings decide for you and equally dont let 10 ratings decide for you either.

Ok so i give it a 6/10 because it kept my attention throughout, and the cinematics was good.

There's Someone Inside Your House (2021)

This is yet another teen who done it thriller that weve all watced before, i wish someone would put a unique twist on these type of movies its always the same thing, killer wears a mask why i dont know because the only people that see them get killed anyway, and the killer always seem to feel sorry for them selves in one way or another so ill kill all my friends, and the girlfriend thinks her boyfriend is involved, come on man its getting old now. I really looked forward to watching this just in case it was different from the rest, but nope more of the same and not as good, so ultimately it was a big let down and a very reasonable 2 is all i could give.

The Night House (2020)

Lets me start of by saying Rebecca hall did a great job in this movie. Ok so this is not your typical haunted house flick and at points gets really confusing and makes you second guess what you think is going on which happened to me, by the end i genuinely didnt get it and was going to rate this a 3/10, but then i read a review that explained what was going on, so i watched it again, im now glad i read the review and watched again because it made so much more sense and im guessing that some of the low ratings are for the same reasons that ive explained.

So if you are confused by this movie give it another look but dont give it a low rating just because you dont understand it.

Ok so the acting, atmosphere, sense of dread, direction, eerieness were all on point, its not at all scarey but i dont think its meant to be, i think its more of a moive that wants to make you think like that shadow out of the corner of your eye, was it there or not or that noise in your house, is it just the house or not.

All in all id give this movie a go and make sure you pay attention to all the details, 1 clue i will give is that the nothing wants her back.

Solid 9/10 from me.

No One Gets Out Alive (2021)

another forgettable netflix horror movie.....YAWN....

Lets start of by saying this movie makes 0 sense what so ever, it has no scarey scenes at all and it got boring very quickly, i mean how many times can you use a theres someone behind you then she turns around and theyve gone scene in one movie it just gets annoying after a while. Dont get me wrong its not the worst horror ive seen but its far from the best. There is a few pluses to the movie and thats the lead actress does a good job and the atmosphere they set was also good, but thats about it really.

Ok so if youve got nothing else to watch and nothing much to do then just give it ago, just dont expect to be blown away by this movie especially if your a big horror fan.

So besides the atmosphere set and the lead actress theres nothing, which is why its just another forgettable netflix horror movie, and why i give it a rating of 4.

The Boy Behind the Door (2020)

Could have been great.

The 1st 30 minutes of this movie was really good, then it fell abit flat from then on, the decisions the kid makes are just frustrating at times, the woman starts to really get on your nerves and as usual the police show up right on time to save the day.

I honesly think this could have been a great movie the atmosphere and tension build up was good, just let down by the actors them selves, this is a real shame because it starts off with real potential, a missed opportunity as in alot of movies these day.

Ok so if you got nothing else to watch and have a spare 90 minutes give this a watch but dont expect a block buster, i give it a 5/10 because it started of good.

Hostage House (2021)

And not in a good way, the acting was bad the decisions they make are terrible, its like the crew have told the actors/actresses to act like the dumbest criminals and victims on planet earth. If they broke into my house id end up laughing at them the whole time and id ask them to come back to do it again sometime.

I give it a very reasonable 2 and thats because the female criminal makes for good eye candy if nothing else.

Werewolves Within (2021)

This movie is really bad, besides there being no werewolves in it (except for about 5 minutes at the end) the movie was boring, not scarey at all and it just felt abit dumb. If its gonna be labelled as a comedy horror thats what we expect, not this drizzle, alice in wonderland was more scarey than this.

A 2 is all i could give and thats because they created a good atmosphere but thats as good as it gets.

The Djinn (2021)

And it is worth a watch, dont get the low ratings but we cant please everyone i suppose, people these days are hard to please. I really liked it, set only in a apartment gives it a different feel a very claustrophobic feel abit like the 2011 movie called silent house although silent house is alot creepier the djinn keeps the tension going to the end.

Dont listen to the low ratings because all in all this is not a bad movie and a good performance by the young actor, it maybe a watch once movie but its worth that 1 watch. A solid 7 from me.

What can i say about this train wreck of a movie, im a big horror fan and this bored me that much i fell asleep the cgi is terribe the jump scares were terrible and the matches and cross was pure comedy, dont get me wrong the start had potential but it declined fast.

If you a big horror fan avoid this movie at all costs you will be left unsatisfied.

A 2 is all i could give and thats because it started of ok not brilliant just ok.

Damn this movie is taking a bashing in the reviews, i mean what did people expect from this movie you can tell by the trailer its a leave your brain at the door kind of movie. Just watch it for what it is and dont take it to serious.

If your looking for a dark, scarey zombie movie then its simple dont watch this, but dont bash the hell out of it if you do, i know everyone has different tastes but giving this a 1 rating is just rediculous and people are just hating, theyve seen zack snyder as the director and thought ohhhhhh the man who done justice league and watched it and thought wheres captain america.

Ok people all in all its not your typical zombie flick but give it a chance, there are alot worse movies out there believe me.

A solid 9 from me.

Ok i just watched/listened to all episodes back to back and ive gotta say im pleasantly surprised to how good this series was i watched/listened to the first episode and thought this would be better with headphones on and i was right, your then more able to visualize the situation much better. I really hope that they do more shows like this and have no doubt that it will open doors for other movie companys to take it further. Althouh its just listening to peoples phone calls it did a really good job at painting a picture to whats going on so bravo to all involved. Ok so i recommend this series to everyone and if you can i recommend using headphones just so theres no background noise, i give it a solid 10 just because what it was able to achieve by just using telephone conversations its impressive.

This could have been a good horror movie if the guy holding the camera wasnt so annoying, lookig at the situation hes in you would have been scared out of your mind but he just doesnt act that way which makes us as the audience to not be able to connect with what the movie is trying to.do and that is to scare us. Ive been a big fan of found footage movies for a while now going back as far as the blair witch project which really creeped me out because the actors seem genuinely creeped out aswell, but the problem here is that you can tell hes acting which isnt good when it comes to found footage everything should feel genuine to real life. Ok so i think it could have been better but the attempts at scares are too repetitive, at times the night scenes are to dark and like i said the guy holding the camera just gets annoying. So i give it a 3 because i think with the right direction this could have been alot better.

Cherry (I) (2021)

Like the heading says this movie gets a big thumbs up from me. I really loved the characters tom and ciara played in this movie they were totally on point, the only reason i didnt give it a 10 is because although you see abit of when he went in the army i would have liked to see a bit more and not just get the odd flash back every now and then but im probably nit picking abit on that because afterall it is focusing on the aftermath of coming from the army and back to normal everyday life and suffering with P.T.S.D.

Overall id recommend to anyone whos into dark and gritty movies to give this a look, and i give it a solid 9.
