I currently reside in Western Australia, and work in a independent book-store (a shocker for those who know me). I want to own my second business within the next five years, and retire in the next 10, so I can focus on my ultimate ambition of taking over the world (cue evil mwu-hah-hah).
Film-wise, I appreciate beauty and innocence, thats not to say I live a G rated life, but there is a difference to a film that makes you feel pure emotion, and one that makes you feel dirty. Goes with the territory of being a Virgo I suppose...
I like a story, ideals and escapism. To feel like I live a different life for a couple of hours, and one that isn't a nightmare.
I'm a conservative, and I'll leave that right there since I am used to being savaged for this. Freedom and opportunity are the most important things in life to me, and my beliefs, political and otherwise, are guided by that. I'm strong willed so its useless to try and convince me that I'm wrong.
I'm 18 years old, but am one of those people who is mistaken for the manager, never questioned for ID, and rather unflatteringly inspire disbelief when I volunteer my age. I have been told that this is down to two things. I have an old soul, and have pretty decent erm, womanly gifts.
I also have the tendency of turning posts into diatribes, you probably haven't noticed...

The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Almost a masterpiece...
The casting was inspired, the script grew almost organically from the original novel by Dan Brown, the acting was everything that a fan of the story could ask for, showing yet again what a talented and passionate movie-maker Ron Howard is. His movies always tell a story about something, teaching and informing his audience about the human condition. "The Da Vinci Code" has proved that there are huge numbers of people who appreciate and are entertained by a mystery, and who are seekers of knowledge about themselves and others. From now on there will be another great divider of the people - The Pro Da Vinci Coders and the others!(Poor things!)I don't think anyone could have brought this novel to life as a movie better than Ron Howard's cast and crew have done.
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004)
"good clean fun"
Disney have proved yet again why they are a head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to producing movies that aren't admittedly brain food, but are "good clean fun", (if you'll forgive the cliché), for kids. For every little girl who ever dreamed of becoming a princess, this film is the perfect way to spend two hours.
True, it was grossly unfaithful to Meg Cabot's original novels, but still managed to convey the charm and slick veneer that has come to be associated with Disney, and the valuable message of independence for little princesses everywhere.
For the more mature audience, this is a happy chance to revisit childhood, or simply breathe a sigh of relief that what your child is watching is not in any way compromising or damaging, and will not have to be explained later.
Good message. Solid performances. Sweet (if bland and predictable at times) story line. Great movie!
Highly recommended for two hours of escapism on a summer's afternoon.
