The Twilight Zone: Cradle of Darkness (2002)
A great episode
There are some good episodes in this incarnation of twilight zone. Most do not compare to the original. Except for this one
This is an amazing episode. If you can go back in time to kill Baby Hitler, would you? Should you? Would you actually be able to?
Heigl does amazing job. She is giving up her current life to go back to the past to create a better future. Sounds easy? Opportunity after Opportunity comes for her to commit the deed, but it's not as easy as it sounds.
Finally, she does the deed. But what did she actually do? Did she change the future? Make it better??
The ending was classic twilight zone. One of my favorite endings to ANY twilight zone episode from any era.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Risk E. Rat's Pizza & Amusement Center (2023)
Best episode in years
This episode really does show how much time has changed. They hit every little nuance about how in the 80's, children had freedom. It was obviously a takeoff of Chuck E Cheese. Charlie and Dennis wanting to see robot books. Mac getting in trouble. Frank missing the racism of the 80's and still finding it here.
It was a different time. I don't want to say it was a better time, but they definitely did.
The gang has not grown up and still wish that they were kids in the eighties. Dee trying to get frank not to say racist or sexist or other slurs but not being able to find a better word to use.
It's always sunny has been hit or miss for me the past few seasons. But this episode gets 10 stars!
The Twilight Zone (2002)
Very underappreciated
This is not the original. This is not even the first remake. But this show has some amazing episodes.
Cradle of Darkness for example rivals any episodes of twilight zone from any era. Rewind was another favorite of mine. Who hasn't dreamed of having a tape recorder that can rewind time? The execution of Grady Finch was another good one
Jason Alexander. Lou Diamond Phillips. Shannon Elizabeth. Katheryn Heigel, Jason Bateman, Jeremy Piven, Usher, Jessica Simpson, Chloris Leachman, Elizabeth Berkley. Stars abound. Forrest Whitaker does an admirable job as the narrator.
Give this a try. You will not be disappointed.
Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Mormon Advantage (2021)
Disappointed
Nothing was resolved. The Mary Ferguson ending was great but the episode was truly rushed. The shoes were too obvious. The episode had good moments, but as a season finale it fell quite short.
The Twilight Zone (2019)
Disappointed
I am the biggest twilight zone fan in the world. Some of these are okay but they try to push politics and social justice into every episode.
There are not really enough witty endings either.
