Rick and Morty: Wet Kuat Amortican Summer (2023)
Begins great. Then turns into a painful slow drag.
I gotta be honest, the first couple of minutes were amazing. Reminded me of season 2. But from the moment the 'kuato' appeared out of the pool, the episode just got, well... weird. And as the episode passed it just became less funny and kind of annoying.
There have been some bad episodes in Rick and Morty, and I've watched them all multiple times. But this was the first episode that I just wanted to stop watching. It felt like an hour. And I'll probably not watch it again forever.
All in all, I'd rate it a 4 because the beginning was awesome, and it had some funny moments, like Rick beating everyone up with his bare hands.
One Piece (2023)
For an anime live action, it's above standards
I loved this series, it was very well made and had so much potential. But at some aspects it just lacks character, and most of all, humour. One piece is one of the funniest animes I've seen, and that makes it so unique, and this remake was just dead serious. Even luffy is very serious most of the time, he could have been portraited a lot better to give the show more heart. Apart from that, the cinematography is crafted well and fitted the story. They left the right part of the original story out to eliminate the annoying parts, without losing the important narrative. All in all, I would rate it a 7.
How to Change Your Mind (2022)
An eloquent documentary on a very important matter
Michael Pollan has again proven himself to be one of the frontmen of the modern day psychedelic resurrection. Psychotherapy is the messiah to our current mental health epidemic. This series paints a rationalized, trustworthy picture of psychedelic substances, and puts it in a new light. Throughout the course of history, the human consciousness has consistently increased in complexity. The downside is that the mental complaints are increasing in complexity as well.
I truly believe the subject of this documentary is the key to stagnate the upward trend of the dark side of the human brain.
The Batman (2022)
What a waste
Where is the flair and charisma. That is what this movie misses. Bruce wayne should have been way more charismatic and smooth. He looks like some kind of emo mime.
I think Pattison played Batman really really well, arguably one of the best batmans ever, but Bruce Wayne did not have that class and style.
The riddler lacked authority and charisma. He wasn't likeable at all. I think the villian should be very likeable for the movie to be interesting. Normally I like Paul Dano but the acting was just not good.
Overall the movie just lacks a more mature feeling and extra layers to it for me. The movie just comes off as a little childish without any depth.
The camera work and visuals however were pretty cool.
I did enjoy the movie at first but the further I got the more I started to be disappointed. I had a good time but I don't wanna watch this movie again. That's why I rate it a 6.
Breaking Bad (2008)
Blown away by the magnificent writing about Walt
This episode makes me deeply sad. Everything is turning against Walt. But in the deepest of his heart he stays a good man. That phone call with Skyler is the absolute best moment of the show for me.
Everybody turned against Walt that he loved the most, but he keeps having a good heart:
Walt wanted to give all his money, that he bled and killed for, away to Jack just to let Hank live. Just before that he already gave up, he was ready to be arrested and make the world harmless of his evil. But then the nazi gang came. Because Jack could take the money anyway he just killed Hank.
Walt loves Jesse like a son. But Jesse is so mad about what he did to Brock that he turns insane and does everything to bring Walt down, even working together with Hank, the man who he hated so much. Jesse doesn't know that Walt always wanted the best for him. And never meant to hurt Brock, he just wanted to save himself and Jesse from Gus. After Walt sees that jesse works with Hank he doesn't care for him anymore of course, that is final for him. He doesn't care if he lives or dies.
Skyler accuses Walt of killing Hank and then threatens Walt with a knife, which turns Walter Jr against him too while Skyler actually started. Walt was going to give up 80 million for Hank he would never kill him. But when Skyler calls Walt later to ask where Holly is while the police are listening, Skyler says she's alone but Walt knows. He acts like he's heartless and has always threatened Skyler, so that the police will leave Skyler out of their sight. But on the other side of the phone he cries so much because he just misses his family and knows he will probably never see them again.
That just broke me, everything is turning against Walt but he stays good. He always wanted the best for everyone but people just didn't get him. He never did anything bad in this whole series WITHOUT a reason for it. He's not a bad person.
