The Boys (2019)
Season 1 is awesome, Season 2 is Trash!
The first season is one of the best show I've seen. It got all the perfect formula for a great TV shows. Great soundtrack, great dialogue, great casting, great action scene, and most importantly great storyline. All the characters have some meaning and goals to achieve that make us rooting for the good guys, and also still emphasize with the bad guys.
But oh man Season 2 is so wrong in many level. The story seems forced, and it feels like all the character running around with no purpose. Homelander still of of control, and still have an anger issue (no character development). The other 'The Seven' seems powerless all the time. And the worst part is, Butcher who used to be a respectfull and smart leader, in season 2 he's become a stupid, annoying, Mr. Know it all, cocky, hard-headed, and heartless. He keep on risking the life of other people just to get his revenge.
I really just hate everything about season 2, but still watching it just for the sake of seeing how they going to take down Homelander.
9-1-1: Athena Begins (2019)
I had tears
This episode is so emotional, I cried at the end of it. The story line was make sense and so on point. This episode defines Athena's character. Two thumbs up of the writer, producer, and actors.
Please Like Me (2013)
Need to change the main character.!
At first I tought that the main character (Josh) just act like a spoiled kid for a reason that we will see him growing up to be a man.., a gentleman. But apparently not. This Josh character is annoying, self-centered, whiny, heartless, and childish. Even with all the nice people around him, he still acting like a prick and selfish. I really tried to like this Josh's character but I can't, each episodes makes me hates him even more.
I loved the storyline here, I just don't like Josh. I like the conflict between his divorced mom and dad. I like the weird relationship between Josh's bestfriend Tom and Claire. I like Geoffrey as the perfect boyfriend material. I even like Aunty Peg, she seems genuine. But Josh.... Ugghhh... Terrible human being. I just don't get why the producer made this character to be the main character.
Anna (2019)
Love every second
I really have to questioned the criteria for the critics giving this film a low review score. They seem can't recognize a good action movie.
For me, this film is one of the best action/ spy/ assasin related movie to date. The story is interesting, and easy to swallow. And the acting was very good also, Sasha was very convicing as an assasin / model. The other actor (Mirren, Evans, and Murphy) also very good.
Overall I'm so entertained by this movie, and recommend to others who like this kind of movie genre. It is not Nikita, or Salt or Red Sparrow, its something else, it's Anna, my new favourite Female Badass 👍👍👍
Captain Marvel (2019)
Great Superheroes movie
I don't get with all this bad review, I think the movie quite decent, and have some memorable moments.
I understand that the producer and the director try to build a story about how Carol Denvers become Captain Marvel, and they try to make it as simple as they can be, because this film also aimed to young children.
The film peaked at it's time, it's not all this fancy full action between heroes and villains like any other superheroes movies. Instead they create moments to make the relationship between Danvers and Fury believable, and how Danvers will do anything to help Fury (in the connection to Avengers End Game).
I think the viewers or critics being unfair to this film. They held expectation too high and compare it to the Avengers movies. It's not fair because in Avengers they already have a well known and loved heroes so they can go big with all the action and super villain. Here, Captain Marvel is a new hero to the eyes of public (not comic geeks), so they try to create a character that relate to young kids and women specially.
On the other note, I really like that they make a great 90's ambience with 90's music in it. Overall I enjoyed the movie, and excited to see what Captai Marvel can bring to The Avengers End Game.
House of Cards: Chapter 73 (2018)
A disappointing ending but still a great season
Everyone saying that this season of House of Cards is so bad, with poor writing. Well I say the opposite, because season 4 and season 5 create such a mess situation for the Underwoods, with Frank and Doug killing everyone who became a liabilities. So what more can you expect? This season is about Claire who was left on her own, cleaning those mess created by his dead husband. She single handedly fighting everyone, because no one she can trust.
The rivalry between Claire and her old friends Annette Sheperd and her brother also very intense and full of great moments. The Sheperds become a very powerfull enemies, and able to turned Claire's allies become her enemies. She did everything she has (including the power of President of USA) to her advantage.
It's a good fight and so intense, where we can see that every action has it's consequences.
Personally, I'm so excited what this new House of Cards will bring, and I'm rooting for Claire to be the president that she could be, not just the first lady, or just a politician wife.
