Scream VI (2023)
Total waste of time
Honestly, it sucks. There is absolutely not even one character you care about. Them all getting hit by a train would have saved a lot of time and you wouldn't even blink an eye. I was starting to root for the killer about 10 minutes in. But, if you had to pick the worst, it's Sam. Hayden's hair looks good though. Whoever rates this smut higher than a four, has terrible taste even in movies, especially slashers. It had every single cliche.
The twist at the end was at least somewhat surprising, but dragged into oblivion. Someone please make a good slasher again. Oh, if you ever get stabbed in real life, don't take out the knife. It's a pretty basic rule.
Death to 2021 (2021)
Right needs a laugh track
Well written, and it hurts how freaken true this is. Just would have added some blows towards the Robert F Kennedy Jr gang, or, as they're better known, the "alternative science" squad.
American Horror Story: Winter Kills (2021)
Huh
I'm just guessing the writers ran out of their pills this season.
WTF is this? None of the things we love about AHS was there. Paulson, Culkin, Conroy and Peters were the only reasons I kept watching. Hoping that they will bring an end to the "bore me to death" lead characters. And I really don't blame the leads, they were all brilliant in previous seasons. Started out well, and then took a sharp turn straight off a bridge.
Metal Shop Masters (2021)
Frustrating
They could really award the artists more time. Concepts were weak overall though, especially the Tom and Rae (sorry, but a robot and butterfly are hardly ground breaking). The artist pieces would have looked a heck of a lot better if powder coating, polishing and lighting were allowed. Honestly, Ivan's shadow piece was the best of the season, hands down. But my problem with the show is not that I believe the wrong man one. The time constraints, group challenges, and lack of conceptual critique, makes those of us who know the industry, annoyed AF.
American Horror Stories: Feral (2021)
No Point to this episode
Loving the series, but this was just, well a bit blah. Didn't really feel like part of the horror story universe, and the story had no twists or turns. Lazy writing if I'm being honest.
Soaked in Bleach (2015)
Biased
If you're watching for entertainment purposes, it's enjoyable, if you're a Nirvana and Cobain fan, you'll notice fairly quickly, this is not an objective doc by any standard.
The writing assessment - never mentions that Cobain changed his hand writing more than most of us change our underwear. His journals make this super evident. From Uppercase, lowercase, to cursive, he did not stick to one type ever.
The dinner scene - It is well known Cobain had a huge arsenal of guns. Not just one, or two. Having a conversation pre suicide about the shotgun Love gifted him specifically, but none of the other guns he owned? Nah, never happened and that puts everything they say that follows into doubt.
Skimming VERY quickly over Cobain's mental state - Grohl himself have made numerous statements in the Cobain Biography that Kurt would go from major highs, calling the band the best band ever, to major lows, referring to all their music as utter &*%. Kurt use to dress as a woman and request people to call him another name. He literally has a song, which is a true story btw, about living under a bridge. Cobain had many indications of Bipolar and depression. An old friend that said he looked happy? Yeah, so did Robin Williams.
Cartoons & photos - Cobain referenced suicidal tendencies before, during and after the Love relationship. Drawings of hanging soldiers, photographs he takes pretend shooting himself with his guns, song lyrics, etc. Not mentioned or shown in doc.
It could have been good, had it been objective and given a complete view of who Cobain was, and added their views and evidence (which is also a bit wish washy), it doesn't. The doc is biased and doesn't take a well rounded view of all the facts pertaining to the case. Worse still, it erased a major part of who Cobain was.
Dream Home Makeover (2020)
Repetitive
Ok, let me start off by saying the McGee's are nice, and obviously very talented in design. I enjoy their Instagram as well.
She has a very specific style, albeit the exact reason her clients hire her to redo their homes BUT this is exactly why I disliked the show. There is not enough variety in the designs. There is no modern, industrial, rustic, bohemian (adding macrame/woven/mud cloth pillows do not make it bohemian!), traditional, mid century, just her style which makes watching it exceptionally bland.
Problem number two for me was the process was not shown and, like others have mentioned, no tips or tricks :(.
And the last part, is probably my biggest peeve with the show... Every client is a millionaire. The reason many home makeover show lovers watch the shows is it's a dream that should feel reachable. The extremely run down home turned into a beautiful space, a few diy tips to not break the bank, tricks to make a small space feel bigger, etc.
The designs are gorgeous, they are a beautiful family but I don't think I would recommend this as an inspiring makeover show to anyone earning less than seven figures with no intention of doing any of the work themselves.
