Breathing Happy (2022)
Groundhogs Day meets Requiem for a Dream.
I was in a short film that was programmed with 'Breathing Happy' at Chattanooga Film Festival, Filmquest, and Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival and I finally had a chance to watch this on Hoopla.
This is a deeply personal film that touches on the generational curse of alcoholism and how hard that is to break and the destruction left behind.
There is a tremendous amount of skill going on here and I loved the manic cinematography/lighting/editing as the now sober lead character no longer has anything to numb his possible ADHD/schizophrenic tendencies.
This is everything I love about indie film!
Film Fest (2020)
"It's Indie comedy, it's not really laugh driven though." "No laughs?"
No name director and team head to small festival to feed ego and loses what's important.
Fun indie film about indie films and film festivals. It's really well cast, everyone's chemistry is electric and performances are out of control. Writing/improv has some memorable gems "He's so talented right he can play every race". Truthful, sincere, and fun.
Rejects (2021)
A deal gone wrong
There are moments of brilliance in this short film about a stand-off from a deal gone wrong.
Performances were wonderful with Honda King really shining. The plot definitely has a nugget of an idea to would be interesting to see fully developed. Looking forward to seeing more work from this team.
Chlorine (2020)
A reference point for the new wave of indie film.
This is a beautifully shot indie film with moments of magic that should inspire future aspiring directors.
This is Clerks, this is Slacker, this is Quiet City for Gen Z/Millennials.
If you have an idea and a vision, make your film.
Excited to see what the director does next.
